Where is the call for the fact that we don't have the damn money and that the U.S. is not immune for going belly-up like Greece or the Wiemar Republic.
Also whining about the troops not getting paid. But, where is the Obama blame for that? Not even a mention that the troops got paid last time.

PROVO, Utah – A Utah judge on Thursday ordered a convicted sex offender freed from a state hospital after the man was deemed incompetent for trial, but not a danger to society.
Prosecutors wanted Lonnie Hyrum Johnson to stay at the Utah State Hospital for continued treatment so he could eventually face the nearly two dozen counts against him of rape, sodomy and aggravated sexual assault of a child, but did not object to the judge's ruling.
Hey stupid judge, you need to go back and review the rules for the insanity defense.

Twenty-four hours ago challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg was looking at an all but certain recount of her razor-thin victory over incumbent Justice David Prosser in the Supreme Court race. Now that it's come to light that Prosser might take a thin but substantial lead due to a computer error in Waukesha County, Kloppenburg could be the one to trigger a recount. But one thing hasn't changed: both camps are lawyering up and have brought in the big guns.
Kloppenburg's campaign is working with Marc Elias, an attorney with Perkins Coie, a Washington D.C.-based firm with an office in downtown Madison. Elias is the same attorney who represented Democratic challenger Al Franken in his eight-month epic recount battle with incumbent Republican Norm Coleman. Franken eventually prevailed, winning his U.S. Senate seat by 312 votes.

Should thought exist, Obama's administration represents global nonsensical "humane" wars initiated without any attempt to formally request congressional approval, never declared since Obama was always on vacation; while personally, Obama exudes antipathy for humanity as the world witnesses Japan's catastrophic destruction.

Even the JS Online had a graphic up stating these exact numbers.
Did she mess up? Did she mean 82,758? If so, that would mean he won by 10, 000.

So Hotair has a story from CNN where 2 Democrat operatives are hosting an event on FB "We are either fricking clueless or fricking liars". So much for civility. I'm sure that the Teapartiers have done much worse to Democrat members of Congress, right? (Like firebombed their houses, threatened them and their families with bodily harm, and released private information.)
Washington (CNN) - If the federal government shuts down come Friday, House Speaker John Boehner may be in for quite a mess at his Washington, D.C. residence if some Facebook users have their way.
A Facebook event, entitled "If Boehner shuts down the government I am taking my trash to his house," has popped up and is gaining steam as the shutdown showdown ramps up on Capitol Hill. If the federal government shuts down, one of the District's services that will stop is trash pickup.
"Speaker John Boehner is ready to shut down the government, including District of Columbia city services like trash collection," it says on the page. "Well, if he won't allow us to use OUR TAX DOLLARS to pick it up, maybe we should just BRING IT TO HIM."
As of 2:30 p.m. EST there are 1,476 attending; 126 are listed as maybe; 156 aren't showing up; and 4,652 are still making up their minds (much like Congress, apparently).
The trash-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday and apparently will last through June 30.
Organizers of the event - Jonah Goodman and Nolan Treadway - write on the page that even if the government shutdown doesn't occur, they will "move forward with this event, we'll provide details on location(s) and we'll make sure it's done in a sanitary and respectful way. Please don't list any personal addresses for members of Congress on this page."
Goodman is listed in the Democratic National Committee network. Treadway is the political and logistics director for the liberal group Netroots Nation.
House Speaker Boehner's spokesman Michael Steel did not comment to CNN on the group. But he said that "The Speaker has made clear that he wants to cut spending and keep the government open. The House will pass yet another bill to that this afternoon. If the government does shut down, these folks should focus their ire on the Democrats who are actively rooting for a government shutdown, hoping for partisan gain."

We'll see about "Hosannas".
Boehner better not cry, "they wouldn't play with me".
If Boehner holds the fiscal conservancy line, all the more confidence in him assuming the presidency given the Obama/BiteMe impeachment, trial and convictions of high crimes and misdemeanors.
Pile on Obama.

The way a real democracy works is first we legislate until we get the right result. If we can't do that then we litigate until we get the right result. If that doesn't work we run candidates that will vote the right way. If that doesn't work, we keep finding votes and recounting until we win. If we can't do that then we litigate until we get the right result. If we can't do that we import union thugs and disrupt government. If...
We never quit, comrade.

Ethanol is still corrosive, bad for older engines, and the amount of energy per acre contained in the miracle of switchgrass makes this an inefficient way to put fuel in the tank. Add to the the localized nature of the crop, add in the transportation costs (even if you use Pruiuses to haul the switch grass), and it still seems to me that you have a loser proposition.

Meh. I don't like what's happening, but it's a tale as old as time, and there's no sense selectively targetting the part of the problem that helps our side. Screw over those helping the Dems first. Heaven knows that the problem is 10 times greater on their side. Go after GE. Go after the too-big-to-fail banks. There are richer and more vulnerable targets that don't support our agenda. Attack them first.
It's not like we have a lack of food in the US. And even if there were, the government has been subsidizing the non-use of farm land for decades. If land is the problem, we have lots more to deploy. If things really start to get lean, we can simply ban exports, like Russia did, to insure our own supply.
If it hadn't been for world-wide crop failures and crop destruction the supply of food would be far greater right now. When Russia banned wheat exports that was a big deal. Australia also suffered greatly from the flooding. Next year, if global harvest return to something approaching normal, we will see a far better supply picture.

All the more reason to cheer on this particular wedding, IMO. Fricking Beckham and Posh got an invite to the Royal Wedding, but not POTUS and FLOTUS. Heh. I love it. Unfortunately, they're probably too stupid to realize they've been burned by the House of Windsor.
I have to admit that, while I don't hang on every bit of coverage, I've got a soft spot for this royal wedding business. My British grandmother -- may she RIP -- was by no means a royals junkie, but she had a some memorabilia from the Charles/Di wedding, and even some things from Queen Elizabeth's coronation back in the 50's. So it's nice to share this little bit of fluffy history with her, if only in spirit.

I'm not saying ethanol is the answer. I'm saying it's not worth worrying about or expending any political capital on at this juncture.
As for the economics, it all depends on whether the newer tech works as advertised. They're engineering enzymes (based on the stuff in cow stomachs, apparently) that should do an excellent job of converting the switch grass into sugars. We'll see if it works as advertised. Maybe it won't. But ethanol, for all its faults, is still more useful than wind or solar power. At least it's liquid, so it's storable and you don't need a sophisticated system to integrate it into a power grid. And supposedly the switch grass can grow well on land that is pretty crappy for growing anything useful. That way there is less diversion of crop land, which seems to be a central concern at this time.
Posted by: Reactionary at April 08, 2011 04:40 AM (xUM1Q)
Sen Grassley is on our radio stations saying how wonderful ethanol is. Don't question him!

I like the idea. But really, who's going to put up the money to build a CNG infrastructure? There's almost none, now, that is useful for regular consumers. The way I see it, you'd have to get a partnership going between gas producers, fuel retail outlets, and auto makers for the thing to work. A lot of hurdles.

Agree that ethanol makes more sense than wind or solar, but that is not saying much.
I still have an engineering problem with the point of origin problem, i.e., you grow the switch grass on your farm, harvest once or twice a year, and need to process a very low energy product (harvested switchgrass) to a ethanol processing facility. Seems very inefficient. If we produced a small localized (and portable) ethanol distillery, that might be better, but there are a lot of production problems.

If Barky's trip is on hold, he will have the wrath and glare of Moochelle (and various voodoo curses from Granny) to deal with at home. He'd rather face the Repubs than deal with that (no wonder he fleebags to the golf courses). Remember, Michelle was not happy with this country until she moved to the WH and begin living in the splendor of what she deserved. Her wardrobe, peoples, is planned and ready for Williamsburg. The stupid budget and Republicans had better not interfere with her plans.
Why dooo the evil Rethuglicans hate our first family? (Besides the fact that they are racists and hate children.) Is it because they are jealous of how beautiful and fashionably attired Michelle is? Is it because they are jealous of Barack and Michelle's fantasticly strong marriage? Their selfish inability to compromise with the Democrats has now prevented the Obamas with the much needed opportunity to get away from D.C. and have some great bonding and family time together. The party of Family Values my ass! Not only that, they are depriving Sash and Malia the great educational opportunities provided by historic Williamsburg. Why do the Repblicans hate children, and why do the Republicans hate history?

Yeah. Good thinking. Screw those ethanol loving corporate goons. The Libtards are diverting billions of dollars into their own pockets via thousands of ill conceived programs and subsidies. But rather than attack those with our limited resources, instead let's spend our time and energy destroying the one abuse that benefits our own side, and at least produces some small measure of good for the US.

Oy. President Dipshit MIGHT cancel his expensive little trip.
Meanwhile, I don't know if my husband's going to get paid, I don't know if our renters will be able to pay next month's rent on the Texas house, I just found out we have a major repair on the rented house (which is up for sale), and I don't know if any of the gov't employees moving to Texas will be able to make a damn offer on the house without a paycheck.
I don't think they will delay pay for the military for long, if at all, but I'm having a little trouble with my mood this morning for some reason.

Something like all the votes are counted (as they were in WI) on Election Day but the results are released for let's say only 80% of the districts at once through the evening/night with the remaining 20% having been recorded but not reported until say 12 hours later. Then they get their results reported at random so that the final results aren't known statewide until the next morning.
When the difference is 1,000s and 1,000s of votes there will be no way for cheaters (hey, even if they're GOP cheaters) to convincingly "discover" (using WI as an example) another 9,000 net votes for the cheaters (hey, even if they're GOP cheaters) on Election Day itself or the morning after. It'd be a pretty obvious fraud if another x number of ballot boxes were discovered containing just the amount of votes needed to cover the late-reported-ballot advantage held by either party 12+ hours after most of the results were reported.
And this is nonpartisan--the only group this would hurt would be cheaters--it isn't affected by race, class or any other potential "racist etc." accusation that would be (and are) levelled against mandatory photo I.D.s or the like by the fraud-covering Left.

I dispute none of those points. My primary concern is this - the Republican party should not target its own base of support for destruction. Even if ethanol is the worst idea ever, it should not be our top priority to crusade against it. Shut down the enemy first. Leave undercutting our supporters for last. Ethanol is, at worst, an inefficiency. The Libtard programs, which will take a concerted effort and massive political capital to overcome, are overtly destructive and corrosive - not to replaceable car engines, but to the culture itself.

Heh heh. True. That would infurate them. But they'd just slap a tax on all Nat Gas use above some floor. The government can drain dollars in many creative ways.
I was not aware of the home gas compressors. It makes sense that such tech should exist, but I had not heard of it. It would be interesting to see how much energy the compressors consume - regular air compressors can be pigs. The electric bill would certainly go up a bit. I'd also be a bit concerned about the ability to make longer trips, like overnight-distance hauls or cross-country treks.

...I just answered my own question. Never mind.
Posted by: MWR at April 08, 2011 05:16 AM (4df7R)
Seems apparent that Obama and the Dems will catch some flack here. I base that on this news that he cancelled his trip to Indianapolis and that he will likely now cancel his next vacation to Williamsburg. If he were in a strong position he'd at least go to Indy and claim that these workers in the auto plant were trying to rebuild the economy but the Republicans were trying to destroy it holding up the budget, or some other nonsense. The point is, he's staying in Washington because he has to. This means we have some advantage.
What I would do is come to the Dems and say, "The number is $61 billion more in cuts. Here's our plan, if you have an alternative, let's talk about it, but that's the number so find a way to cut $61 billion. You have 48 hours to come to a deal, after that, the number's going to be $71 billion. Every 48 hours we go without signing a deal, we increase our demand by $10 billion."
The Democrats of course will attempt to call the bluff because history shows that elected Republicans are pussies, but if you stand fast the Democrats will eventually cave. You also make a point that things are different, and when we offer a deal next time you'd better damn well accept.

I wonder how many of their votes are dependent on continuing to kill minority babies in the ghetto? Is baby-mama really not going to vote dem when her abortion is unfunded? Is she going to say, "Wait a minute, I'm gonna vote Republican because you didn't pay to kill my baby?"
Last night the guy in front of me at the store bought 3 bottles of nice Pinot Gregio, a bottle of clorox kitchen cleaner, and gourmet cheese. He gave them food stamps for the $6.20 block of cheese and then paid $38.00 for the rest. He had a diamond stud in his ear and went out to a fairly new lexus. He is in no danger of changing his vote because he had to fork out $200 to PP to make another baby-mama happy.

That is the question on everyone’s mind today on Capitol Hill. Staff negotiators worked until 3 a.m. and appear to have made progress, but nobody wants to be the first to blink. Harry Reid says: “This all deals with ‘women’s health.’ Everything has been resolved. Everything,” presumably referring to provisions that would deny federal funding for Planned Parenthood. However, GOP aides insist that “spending” remains the largest unresolved issue. Lawmakers from both parties are storming the airwaves this morning, basically to lay the groundwork for blaming the other side for a government shutdown, which is what will happen if they don’t pass some kind of funding resolution by midnight tonight. Speaker Boehner will likely try to sell a compromise to House Republicans when they meet today at noon. He would like to pass a bill without the help Democratic votes, which would mean limiting GOP defections to about 30. Stay tuned, as the situation should develop rapidly, and could go all the way down to the wire.

Staunch, self described Reagan republicans -- hate welfare, hate PP, hate the EPA and PETA...also now hate our military and say they should not be supported (because they have bought into the Rolling Stone article...and because they don't want to pay taxes for them). Are now quoting Rolling Stone article and Ayn Rand, and saying Ron Paul is a true conservative...as for the hajis...they are just poor, backwards people who would leave us alone if we left them alone.
Got right nasty with me in a personal way -- really nasty.
On the other hand: other friends who are self described hippie liberals...decided to gjump into the mix as well. God love them, but they are hippies (I am friends with them for other reasons than their political views). They firmly support King's hearings (they want more done), want to see a looser ROE, and support of the troops -- have decided that Islam is the next Nazism (the burka, child bride, and head chopping thing has convinced them) and must be destroyed no matter the cost!!!
They got nasty (at my ex-friends) right back -- really nasty, never heard my Birk wearin' buddy talk in such a bloody minded way about anyone.
You haven't been for a night out on the town until you watch two sets of friends swirl into a rather acrimonious fight...which considering the sides...I swear I could hear Gabriel's horn ushering in the pounding of hoofbeats.

Costco sees booze in SC. There is one in Greenville and Spartanburg. Get yourself a membership and go on over. You'll wind up buying shit you don't need, but the booze is cheap! So is the gas.

I thought we had already talked about that. I get my Beam at Cosco in Myrtle Beach when my wife goes there to the outlet stores. Here in town Beam cost $40/bottle, it is $20 at Cosco. BTW, the Eavn Williams was $23 at Cosco.

We used to drive up to the border (from Worcester, MA) before big stuff like the Super Bowl, graduations, etc. Saved big bucks (which we used to buy more alcohol, of course) for about an hour round-trip.

Chairman Ryan on lib reactions to GOP budget:
“These people [Democrats] have been in Congress a long time. Clearly they see the fiscal problems. Clearly they know the road ahead is a debt crisis. They must be complicit with it if they’re willing to use this type of demagoguery and rhetoric. I find it really quite amazing. It’s politics. I don’t know what else to conclude.”

I am assuming that is per Liter. But anyway what I got was "black label" at $23 per 1.7L.

But I can see I need to make a trip to NH and VT.
With the cost of gas, it may not be worth it. Of course I'm sure there will be a high-speed train soon...

Actually, what you need to do is intervals. Fast, slow, fast, slow.
That's what I'm doing. Aerobic house cleaning and gardening!

Where I go in No. Conway, there's also a 50 store outlet mall with dirt cheap prices, (Nike and Adidas next door to each other going head to head) and no sales tax.
I lived in Taxachusetts for 50+ years, and I'm done giving money to the corruptocrats. And when I go back several times a year I buy nothing.

They are a list of islamist chat sites like "Chat Libya" and "Palestine for Palestineans," as far as I can tell by translating the links with iGoogle. Whether there are any pro-Western style Freedom sites among them is beyond my limited translation abilities.
We Americans are self-destructively tolerant. We're going to hold our noses and tolerate the Muz among us until it kills us. And somehow a lot of so-called conservatives think that's just the way it should be. Sit around, and wait for them to finally figure out how to subjugate us.
It's sickening.

A few weeks ago a tearful Libyian acquaintance begged me to pray for her family and country. Tolerance of islamist violence and oppression is the least merciful, least kind thing we could ever possibly do.

To all, I will tell ya'll how good that pork loin was. I also will not tell you that after eating a bunch of that and some mixed vegetables, I topped it off with a huge slice of coconut cream pie.
