A 100-0 vote. When was the last time the Dems voted to approve a Republican nominee unanimously? But we have this:
"Just a home-run choice. The president made a very wise decision," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
Is there more than one or two Dems that he has not voted for? That may be an interesting task, find the Graham no votes for any Dem appointee. IÂ’m sure you can count them on one hand. Of course to get 100-0 DeMint had to vote for him too so perhaps it ainÂ’t too bad.

Look at the differences in these two descriptions of the same story and then read the soapbox below.
Hint, Fox says some Democrats want revenue enhancements. CNS pins it to Geither and calls it a tax increase. Yeah Jon, them Fox news guys are so conservative and in the Republican bag.
But this is the same old shit the Democrat playbook has had since FDR was in office. Run spending on social programs through the roof and produce a huge deficit. Complain about the deficit and call for tax increases. The only differences have occurred when the Dems did not control congress, which has been rare since FDR. When they control congress they simply raise taxes “for the children” you see. This is how the income tax started at a low level of less than 100% and only applied to a few very wealthy people and had grown to a top marginal rate of 90% under FDR.
When the Republicans had one of the houses of congress they were sometimes able to halt the tax increases, but most of the time went along. When they fought, of course they were throwing grandma off the cliff and starving “the children”. Most of the time the compromised for “unspecified budget cuts” down the road as long as we raised taxes now (G.H.W. Bush’s lip reading).
They are doing the same shit now. Republicans need to get the message out about the “revenue enhancement” myth of tax increases. They need to publish those studies that show historically in the U.S. revenue as a percentage of GDP always stabilizes at 18.2% after fluctuations caused by congressional action. So what that ultimately means is that not only will a tax increase only produce short term revenues, but in the long run it decreases revenues while it makes everyone in the country poorer.
This is the Republican PartyÂ’s biggest failing. It can not seem to get the message out there. It is time to quit blaming the MFM, although they are major problem, and start developing alternative means of getting the message to the public. A stupid public will continue to elect communists thinking it will help them.

Two competing measures in Congress on Libya
We have Mavericky aisle crossing teaming up with Kerry (the new Kennedy) to authorize ObamaÂ’s lawless actions and we have the House bill to force them out of Libya. Boned Boehner will introduce a copy of the traitor bill from the Senate as well as a defunding measure from the House (no mention of the bill that simply said get out now).
Brit Hume talked about these two competing measures yesterday. His take was the McCain-Kerry measure would pass, the defunding would not. He is usually right about this kind of backstabbing shit from our RINOs.
In the words of Jack Napier; “We been ratted out here boys”.

AP Exclusive: Medicaid for the middle class?
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's health care law would let several million middle-class people get nearly free insurance meant for the poor, a twist government number crunchers say they discovered only after the complex bill was signed.
The change would affect early retirees: A married couple could have an annual income of about $64,000 and still get Medicaid, said officials who make long-range cost estimates for the Health and Human Services department.
After initially downplaying any concern, the Obama administration said late Tuesday it would look for a fix.

Top-secret clearance checks falsified
ThatÂ’s the headline! When I first saw this I thought that perhaps this would show how we let people slip through the crack like the Wiki-leaks turd. But after reading it I find WOW 170 confirmed falsified investigations. But is that significant? You have to go all the way through to find that that is the total found out of 2 million done per year.
In short, this is pure BS headline and an insignificant issue.

The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., who officially announced his candidacy on Tuesday, scored just 2 percent support.
I checked and could not find complete results or the internals. This is the first poll that I am aware of following the CNN debates. I hesitate to draw any conclusions without looking at more information.

Jonah says Libya important because Obama made it that way
LibyaÂ’s not important because it is vital to our national security. Nor is it a particularly significant country. ItÂ’s important solely because the Washington establishment, led by President Obama, made it important.
He may be right, but is it worth it for a country already bankrupt? Should be continue an illegal war because to end it would diminish NATO? In my opinion NATO has been diminished for a long time and since no debate was every held for this war there is no discernible objective or end strategy.
Yes, Obama screwed up but that is normal for his foreign policy. He is the worst disaster for foreign policy I have seen since Jimmy Carter. Ron Paul would be better.

A campaign against Obama -- acting as if all of the candidates are the same -- is not a good strategy for defeating him, imho. It plays right into the "Obama inherited this mess from the Republicans" defense. People want to vote for something/someone, not against someone.

They say love has no boundaries, and certainly doesn't care about age.
That's good news for newly married couple Courtney Alexis Stodden, the 16-year-old pop artist, and her 51-year-old husband, actor Doug Hutchison, since even the teenÂ’s mother approves of their marriage.
"We are totally supportive of this marriage," Courtney's mother Krista Stodden exclusively told RadarOnline.com about her daughter's marriage to the Green Mile and X-Files actor.
The happy couple tied the knot in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 20, and Krista confirmed that at least one parent had to sign the permission form for the marriage to take place. "They are very much in love and we are so supportive of this," Krista gushed about her blushing bride daughter.
Critics are already questioning the couple's 35 year age difference, but her mother wanted to set the record straight. "Courtney was a virgin when she married Doug. She is a good Christian girl."
Meanwhile the happy couple said: "We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial, but we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

Chavez went to cuba for a medical procedure.... we havent heard from him in 2 weeks
the thing is venezuelan logic..... the guys behind the table... sell the prisoners the weapons. the prisoners then set up a mafia inside the jail that uses the weapons to collect protection money from the unarmed prisoners about 30 bucks a day multiply that by 3500 prisoners the mafia uses this money to buy more weapons and drugs and pay for perks like swimming pools, 18yrold scotch, lobster dinners etc which are all provided by said guys behind the table. these guys have direct tv in their cells anyways, the prisoners get ambitious and decide they want out and decide to riot and then the guys behind the table blames the govt oposition.

Top-secret clearance checks falsified
By Jim McElhatton, The Washington Times, June 21, 2011
Office of the inspector general has an initiative focused on fabrication cases involving the Office of Personnel Management Federal Investigative Services background investigators.
The monetary loss sustained by the government does not, nor cannot, represent the cost associated with potential compromise of our nationÂ’s security and the trust of the American people in its governmentÂ’s workforce. Authorities said subjects were seeking top-secret clearances for positions in the Air Force, the Army, the Navy and the Treasury Department.
The U.S. AttorneyÂ’s Office in Washington this month announced guilty verdicts given to former government background investigators, Thomas Fitzgerald and Catherine Webb, and a former contract investigator, George Abraham.
OPM handles background investigations for most federal agencies, processing 2 million background investigations per year. Court records show at least 170 confirmed falsifications of interviews or record checks and more than 1,000 others that couldnÂ’t be verified.

Nanny State alert! Nanny State alert!
Obama's Food Police in Staggering Crackdown on Market to Kids
Link to Human Events.
Tony the Tiger, some NASCAR drivers and cookie-selling Girl Scouts will be out of a job unless grocery manufacturers agree to reinvent a vast array of their products to satisfy the Obama administrationÂ’s food police.
Either retool the recipes to contain certain levels of sugar, sodium and fats, or no more advertising and marketing to tots and teenagers, say several federal regulatory agencies.
The same goes for restaurants.
ItÂ’s not just the usual suspected foods that are being targeted, such a thin mint cookies sold by scouts or M&Ms and Snickers, which sponsor cars in the Sprint Cup, but pretty much everything on a restaurant menu.
Although the intent of the guidelines is to combat childhood obesity, foods that are low in calories, fat, and some considered healthy foods, are also targets, including hot breakfast cereals such as oatmeal, pretzels, popcorn, nuts, yogurt, wheat bread, bagels, diet drinks, fruit juice, tea, bottled water, milk and sherbet...
...The “Interagency Working Group on Food Marketed to Children, Preliminary Proposed Nutrition Principles to Guide Industry Self-Regulation Efforts” says it is voluntary, but industry officials say the intent is clear: Do it, or else.
“When regulators strongly suggest a course of action, it’s treated as a rule, not a suggestion,” said Scott Faber, vice president of federal affairs for the Grocery Manufacturers Association. “Industry tends to heed these suggestions from our regulators, and this administration has made it clear they are willing to regulate if we don’t implement their proposal.”

Part of the waters are also claimed by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. While China has called for disputes to be resolved bilaterally, others, including the Philippines, have urged a multilateral approach. Philippine Foreign Affairs spokesman Eduardo Malaya said disputes "affect not just the claimant countries but the entire region itself and beyond, and thus call for a multi-stakeholder approach."
China is impersonating Teddy Roosevelt, speaking softly while carrying a big stick. They would own "their" sea, preventing the Philippines from repairing air strips and installations while denying countries access to their own coastal oil supply.
Obvious questions, what about the US Clark Air Base in the Philippines, and international rights of passage for our Navy in the South China Sea.

For one thing, to my understanding, most of the airlines already waive the fee and the airline which was caught in the scuffle last week immediately changed their policies anyway.
It's a ridiculous proposal to make. The branches of the military have private contracts with most if not all of the major airlines to provide X-number of free checked bags to military men and women. The issue that cropped up the other week -- was it with Delta? -- was due to their particular contract, which said that soldiers flying coach could get three checked bags free, while soldiers flying first class could get four. I personally think that's a stupid ass rule. It should be an all or nothing policy. And frankly ALL of our military personnel should be bumped up to first class automatically. But hey, that's between the airline and the military and has f-all to do with me. Also, I'm fairly sure the military would reimburse their servicemen and women after the fact for any bag fees above and beyond the free limit, but having worked in government for long enough I know what a frigging pain in the ass it is to fill out the paperwork, send it through the bureaucracy, and finally get a check.
This California Congresscritter clearly just wants to score political points. He should NOT be interferring in private business matters that have already been handled by the free market (also known as lots of really angry people telling Delta they wouldn't be flying with them if they didn't make things right).

“You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.
Oh THAT is cute. "Fertility management," eh? Nice. One of the most antiseptic, bureaucratic descriptions of abortion I've ever heard. It's almost as bad as "family planning."
Dear Al:
Just so you know, the countries with the largest populations -- China, India -- are both currently sporting biologically untenable ratios of boys to girls. If they don't collapse from the sheer absence of ovaries, they'll fall under the wave of revolution brought about by a lot of young men with very, very blue balls.

I contend that it's both - their stupidity makes them fall prey to the brainwashing and indoctrination. But even that can't explain it all. After all, there are many converts to the Right who used to be Libtards, yet stupidity is incurable. Therefore there must be some fraction of the leftists who are simply misinformed/brainwashed.

Maybe I'm reading a bit too much into it, but this signals to me that the Chinese see obama losing in 2012. As a result, they are grabbing all they can before an adult takes the presidency and ends all the fun.
See it as sort of a clearance sale for despotism- won't be surprised if Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc. all make bold moves in the next year or so while King Putt is floundering through his final days as first doofus.
Again, might be reading too much into this but this is my theory, which is mine, that I have, all by myself.

Also, I'm fairly sure the military would reimburse their servicemen and women after the fact for any bag fees above and beyond the free limit, but having worked in government for long enough I know what a frigging pain in the ass it is to fill out the paperwork, send it through the bureaucracy, and finally get a check.
Yeh, they do. It's a pain, but it's hardly the only time it happens. The original story said those soldiers had an 18 hour layover, so they had to eat, too. And put in for money back for that.
When you use a civilian airline for transporting military people and supplies, it's not a perfect fit.

Or indeed that gender is a social construct, and they can be boys or girls regardless of what they're born as.
If I were a savvy child in this era, I'd be telling my teachers that I wanted my gender to be Inglingling, and start demanding my own bathroom, locker room, sports teams, etc. The free shit you could get would be well worth the hassle of having to invent a whole new gender.

I've survived a decade with Gov. Goodhair, and while he's been on my shit list for several things, lately he's been turning me back around. He recently vetoed a no texting while driving ban. We can agree that texting and driving is generally stupid, but he was smart enough to realize a new law isn't needed. It's already against the law to be distracted while driving. Him openly fighting the EPA and other Feds is also a breathe of fresh air.

I really wish a study would be done comparing the effect of all this 'healthy oil', healthy sea salt, fake sugar, etc has on one's appetite and the amount of weight gain around the belly.
I'm always hearing from my kids, 'I don't even remember eating that.'

Okay, someone else read this and write something really scathing and ANGRY about it. I am incandescent with rage.
Shock: Dept. of Defense Vindicates Fort Hood Killer
U.S. Army tacitly endorses a religiously bigoted position: it is fine for Muslim service members to kill non-Muslims, but killing Muslims is grounds for an honorable discharge.
A shocking decision made by the secretary of the Army last month — in the case of an U.S. Army soldier with the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell who refused to deploy to Afghanistan claiming that Islamic law prevented him from killing other Muslims — vindicates Fort Hood killer Major Nidal Hasan. He made identical claims and threatened that “adverse events” would occur if military officials didn’t accede to shariah principles.
The subject of the Fort Campbell case is PFC Nasser Abdo, who was granted conscientious objector status last month, only to be brought up on charges last week — two days after being informed of the secretary of the Army’s decision — after child pornography was found on his government-issued computer. The news reports about Abdo’s arrest were the first to mention the Army recognizing him as a conscientious objector. After his arrest, Abdo is now claiming that the child porn charges are the Army’s way of retaliating against him.
AbdoÂ’s case has been championed by a number of media outlets, including Al-Jazeera and CNN. According to the Associated Press, in his claim for conscientious objector status, Abdo cited a number of Islamic scholars and Koranic verses in his defense:
"I realized through further reflection that God did not give legitimacy to the war in Afghanistan, Iraq or any war the U.S. Army would conceivably participate in..."
I agree with him. It's ridiculous to think this man would have child pornography on his government owned computer. It's clearly goat porn.
(Though the goats may be underage).
*RAGE*

What do you mean "if...cheese"? It must be cheese! If it is not cheese then we would surely have had the foresight, as a nation, to continue to go there and solidify our hold upon the high ground. We deserve, and can anticipate having, Chinese boosted brilliant cheese pebbles raining down from the high ground, I suppose. No radiation, no trace-back, just hunks of cheese moving really fast through the void....
