The big news this morning is a story we already talked about yesterday
Republicans have walked out of the budget talks because idiot Dems are holding out for a tax increase. What is not clear is the objective of the idiot Dems. They have to know that even their own members will not vote for a Tax increase right now. It would be political death for them in most States.

Democrat Gov of NC vetoes voter ID bill.
Democrats hate voter ID because it slows down the ability of one of their key constituents to vote; dead people and illegals. NC has enough Republicans in the Senate to override the veto but will need a few Dems to go along with them in the House.

Obama announces yet another plan to spend half a billion dollars this year
So where is he going to get the money for these cronies of his in business who will get the money? He will siphon it from the budgets of existing departments. If I am not mistaken these budgets are put together with specific allocations by congress. This is another example of Obama lawlessness. But congress will do nothing. He is Superbama and he's invulnerable to Impeachanite because he is shielded by the densest matter on earth, blackdemacratium.

I had rated him as “unknown/neutral” on the Socialized Healthcare rating because I couldn’t find anything about that system. This article contains the following:
But Huntsman’s reforms contain their own seeds of Obamacare. The Utah “portal” is widely seen as a model for Obamacare’s “exchanges.” And if less regulatory than the Massachusetts “connector,” the portal has nonetheless established the structure for undermining the state’s individual and small-group insurance markets.
Based on this I am changing that part of the eval to negative. He winds up with 4 negatives, 1 neutrals, and 1 positive.

Perhaps one of these days they'll find something that sticks.

This is scarily true. I'm thankful that the Dems didn't get a more clever and driven individual in there. Obie's evil is slightly mitigated by his lack of work ethic. Somebody more aggressive would probably have us in camps by now, and the MFM would have people convinced that it was in the nation's best interest. Everyone would believe we were planning to blow up orphanages and old folks homes, and Eric Holder would be explaining that while foreign terrorists deserved civilian trials, "domestic terrorists" deserved no trial at all.

I think it is a little early yet to make any determination. That said, that PPP poll that was run at the end of May said that Romney had picked up the Huck supporters after Huck dropped out. They also said that Romney was going strictly on name recognition and had no momentum. They said Bachmann and Cain had the momentum and this was before the CNN debate in which I thought she slaughtered them. It appears now that Cain has lost his momentum.
Some of the polls being run still have Palin in them. I think when they quit running Palin in the polls Bachmann will pick up all those and she will surge to the front.

Yeah.. Bachmann will pick up some. But, my take on this is that most voters have put ideology in the backseat this year. They simply want to win and Romney looks like the only way to do that. So, Romney's gonna keep picking up more votes as folks drop out.
I've been predicting it will be Romney for quite some time now.. not because I like him.. but because he's the only one in the pack that can beat Obama. That may change if Perry jumps in.. I actually like him.. but my concern is the Texan drawl that sounds a lot like GWB that could turn some voters off.
We'll see. But, Bachmann will never move to the front. I can almost guarantee you that. Although I'm willing to eat those words if she does..

First Lady is a chow hound:
Obama mentioned Indian food, and then Mexican food, and then said: "No, if I picked one favorite, favorite food, it's French fries." The audience began to laugh. "Okay? It's French fries," Obama continued. "I can't stop eating them." As the students laughed more, the First Lady quickly returned to her role as advocate of health eating. "But eat your vegetables," she said, to still more laughs. "And exercise."

But Texas has done wonders in education on smaller and smaller budgets. He might be able to sell that.
I was reading a study recently, that was done in Texas, that finally identified the difference in kids who were exposed to "effective" teachers as opposed to "ineffective" ones. It was amazing. But I don't think teacher's unions would be all that happy with the solution: get rid of ineffective teachers!

If voters are risk-averse --- which I think they are this time around (unlike last time around before the disaster that is Obama) --- then it seems to me that they need time to digest and reject the smears. Otherwise, they'll see Perry as too risky and fall back on Romney.
I don't think 2008 primary patterns are very applicable this time around.

She made French Fries the centerpiece of her First Lady agenda when she announced the pleasure she gets from ordering a fresh batch in the middle of the night from the White House kitchen staff. Why should they get to sleep when she wants more fries? It certainly explains her big gut and fat ass on the big-MO.
Does she think this endears her to anyone? That laughter from the kids will get really ugly in cafeterias when fries aren't available to the masses.

“I want you to connect one more dot on that chain of African-American history in this country, and tell me if I’m crazy: Federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms into our urban centers, across this country, that are killing black and brown children,” he said according to an WMAQ-Channel 5 story that aired Thursday.

Stick with the panicking idiot and leave it at that.
The end result of whatever policy is what matters in the first place. Miss that and you're off target, no matter the intent.
I'm not interested in buying excuses that idiots claim to be "reasons" for their sabotage and destruction of my country.

Dissatisfied and angry taxpaying voters don't accept excuses as reasons when they cast ballots.

But when the '08 Obama voters lose their homes and jobs, don't expect them to vote for Obama '12. Not all of his voters have always been on welfare. And those "50% of Americans who don't pay taxes" are going to feel the economic pinch as well when THEIR funding is the wealth being spread thinner. And when their children can't find work, and their children serving in the military suffer the abuses of CinC Obama, and their neighbor's sons and daughters suffer, their Obama obsession experiences CHANGE.

That was the conversation the local radio talker was having last night here in Rhode Island. The disconnect between pulic and private sector workers is nigh-impossible to repair at this point. The local news babe, a big lib, went out and got audio of a teacher who had been fired because of a massive reorganization. Now, the teacher was actually crying about losing her job, which I guess is understandable. But the disbelief in her voice that this could happen to her, even in this goddamn economy, was telling.
Additionally, I can't think of a single instance of the radio news going out and getting sound about anybody in the private sector, unionized or not, getting laid off before. It's as if it's a brand-new and UNEXPECTED phenomenon.

So Bin Laden wanted to change al-Qaeda's name because he didn't like how the West was always lopping off the "al-Jihad" portion of the full name. One of his suggestions was "JamaÂ’at IÂ’Adat al-Khilafat al-Rashida" ("Restoration of the Caliphate Group"). Another was "Taifat al-Tawhed Wal-Jihad" ("Monotheism and Jihad Group"). This makes me laugh hysterically, because if he thought it was bad that "al-Qaeda al-Jiyad" was being shortened to just al-Qaeda, I have to question his logic in requesting that the group's new name be even LONGER than the original.
Then I remember that he's shark chow now, and it makes me laugh even more.

Your theory is assuming that Barry is coming at things from your angle. He isn't.
Barry really believes in deficit spending. He's a shallow Keynesian, this is the type of approach they would take. Barry wants to be re-elected. If gas prices get too high this summer, his poll numbers will plummet even more. He wants to avoid that, and the only thing he can think of doing is putting oil out there.
Eventually Barry is going to start putting oil into the Strategic reserve again. He'll do this because depleting it and leaving it depleted would be something even an idiot like Huntsman could use to bludgeon him over the head during an election. What will happen is obvious - prices will rise by the same amount that they dropped (not much) when he starts filling it again. The net result will be...nothing, unless there is a catastrophic disrupt of oil. Then Barry most definitely won't be re-elected.

When they got into the reasons for the recession, the CNBC guy snarked "Go ahead, you can say it....it's Bush's fault right? Just say W and we'll know what you mean. It's always Bush's fault."

The White House on Thursday threatened to veto the 2012 Defense appropriations bill.
"The administration strongly opposes a number of provisions in this bill. If a bill is presented to the President that undermines his ability as commander-in-chief or includes ideological or political policy riders, the presidentÂ’s senior advisors would recommend a veto," the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said in a statement.

OMB lists a number of provisions in the bill that the administration finds objectionable, including "unnecessary" additional money for the C-17 transport aircraft and a smaller amount of funding for the Intelligence Community Management Account.

Ours just graduated college and I can offer one suggestion that I found useful. If she has a cell phone, first make sure you have the "unlimited text messages" option and then monitor the number of text messages every month.
If that number suddenly increases you need to have a talk- even if everything else appears normal and she gives every indication of being perfectly happy there is something going on in her life that is bothering her and you need to discuss it.
Just a suggestion- it worked for us.
And the "oh, I was just cleaning a couple of guns" thing when the new boyfriend visits is a good idea too.

Barry says whatever he thinks will get him ahead, and the message revises itself before he reaches the period at the end of his thought.
Barry Marx doesn't really believe in anything except his own free ride, upon which all else is predicated. Barry is convinced that he can get away with everything. So far, so good. "Because I could."
Barry can use his intellect to excuse/explain his agenda. But I'm not impressed with either Pinocchio or his promoters. If his owners were to order him to preach a different dogma than Obama represents today, he'd do it. That is Obama's own precedence.
Re: Keynesians, they believe in deceit. They practice deceit. They profit immeasurably through deceit. They demand that we pay from every end to support their piracy. What's not understood? Their excuse? "Because I could." And no, Keynesians don't have the monopoly on deceit.
The more sophisticated rationale that people fabricate to excuse their corruption, the more ridiculous. The more submission that any populace pays to pirates, the more pathetic.
I've observed that contrary to its intended meaning, American Exceptionalism has come to represent the empowerment of pirates given dominion over the Constitution by officials who usurp authority, and by citizens in proud denial.

I can understand it, if true. Perry is a stronger candidate. He's the governor of a large, growing state, and he can rightly claim to be part of that success story. The problems that Texas does have are largely due to Federal government stupidity, and he can easily segue into crushing Obama with it. If played well, the change from Dem to Republican can also be made to work with Independents (open minded, willing to embrace new things, yadda-yadda).

Interesting. Palin does the bus tour, Perry steps in, she makes the nod and happily goes about firing up the base. Perry makes the national play. If done well, it could result in a crushing victory.
Perry can point to Texas. Obama can point to the DC area, where fellow beltway parasites have grown fat. That comparison, and how each got there, would be beautiful.

Kenneth Melson of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms faces controversy over the agency's surveillance program that allowed U.S. guns into Mexico. He is said to be eager to testify to Congress.
The acting director of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is strongly resisting pressure to step down because of growing controversy over the agency's surveillance program that allowed U.S. guns to flow unchecked into Mexico, according to several federal sources in Washington.
Kenneth E. Melson, who has run the bureau for two years, is reportedly eager to testify to Congress about the extent of his and other officials' involvement in the operation, code-named Fast and Furious.
Melson does not want to be "the fall guy" for the program, under which ATF agents allowed straw purchasers to acquire more than 1,700 AK-47s and other high-powered rifles from Arizona gun dealers, the sources said. The idea was to track the guns to drug cartel leaders. But that goal proved elusive, and the guns turned up at shootings in Mexico, as well as at the slaying in Arizona of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in December.

It would make sense to me that Palin would have had a chance to develop more of a relationship with a fellow governor. Obviously, she campaigned for both of them last time, so that doesn't tell us much.
I think Perry is the strongest candidate of the current and likely crop. If Palin endorses him in the primary, that would be helpful, although I expect some of her supporters would still wind up going with Bachmann who is more conservative.

Why does Palin prefer Perry over Bachmann? Bachmann seems to be the truer conservative. Is it just a personal thing?
I don't believe Palin has ever made a statement like this but she has said many times that she considers Perry to be a good friend and a good governor. I think that is the source of the "Palin will endorse Perry" idea. Personally I am uncertain that she would endorse anyone during the primaries; if so, I don't think it would be until everything has distilled down to two or three candidates.

I wonder when Jon Stewart will be marched around on an apology tour, a la the (admittedly odious) Tracy Morgan, because of his joke about Herman Cain not liking to read? Delivered in a faux-Cain accent that was truly condescending. Where will be the cries of racism from his Hollywood compatriots?
Oh, right. Herman Cain is a conservative. Never mind. I forgot The Rules.
PS - I think Herman is being a little naive about only allowing bills to be three pages long, in an effort to prevent another 2,700 page monstrosity like Obamacare, because there's a ton of stupid legal jargon that has to go into a bill to make it, well, legal. At least, legal according to current Congressional practice. But I support the spirit of his idea, which is to not cram a load of clauses and subclauses and quid pro quos into a bill that make it a chaotic labyrinth of legalese that's impossible to decipher.

To support Rick Perry for potus is to support the authoritarian abuses of the chief executive whose established illegal precedence as TX Governor is to deny US citizens their constitutional rights. That doesn't even touch his financial kickbacks.
Promise them anything, just get their vote "winnable" Perry seems the stand in candidate for the "winnable" Romney whose campaign has already failed, to the chagrin of the corrupt establishment.
Perry didn't MAKE Texas productive. Perry didn't invent any productive measures benefiting Texas residents. And when push comes to shove, Perry buckles under the federal authoritarian thumb, playing their tool. So far as business friendly goes, his own policies that went against the established protocol in our State made business much more difficult and expensive in Texas for small business owners.
I just want to vote on platform and the candidate most experienced and determined to achieve governance limited by the Constitution, cut spending and low taxes, safe borders and interior, and strong State's Rights agenda.
To hell with expecting a facade to achieve anything but more "Because I could" corruption given more opportunity.

Stewart is an unfunny ass, but I didn't see any problems with that joke. I certainly saw nothing racial about it.
I don't want to restrict others' speech. I want them (and many others) to stop trying to restrict mine - or to just stop giving credence to the cries of "raaacism" at every turn. You know, someone can get ticked and scream "You fat shit!" at someone else and no one thinks that that is proof that they hate fat people.

That 3 page bill thing was "hyperbole" to emphasize a point. At least that is what he said in an interview when asked about it. In radio you often do things like that for emphasis because you have no video.
He is going to have to get over that on the campaign trail because the MFM will all run those kinds of statements as gaffes.

If Bachmann doesn't have a total melt down (and I don't rule that out), she may end up as the VP pick.
The ticket is going to be Bachmann/Bolton.

The most troubling one is foreign policy. He is basically an isolationist against interventionism (anti-interventionist) and wants to decrease the military.
The cuts would apply across the board. But don't expect the grunts to bear the brunt of funding cuts; rather, the Brass.
The argument that he wouldn't declare war to save America is as dumb as anything gets. Congress declares war.
He's also the only potus candidate prepared to confront the global economic meltdown, leaving the corrupt banking/investment/insurance incestuous monopoly holding their own debt, rather than allow their further bail-out rape of American taxpayers.
Sure, the other candidates promise to revise taxes. Even if taxes were cut and spending cut, so long as the debt ceiling is raised, there is no recovery of the Dollar's value. And we no longer have the luxury of implementing a 10-year plan to correct our economy's course. In 2008, we were given Bush's final "24-hour" ultimatum that McCain willingly suspended his campaign rather than disbelieve. This is 2011, so there's no excuse for ignorance at the ballot; and the establishment apologist is at best as bad as the ignorant.
Build the platform first. Then vote the platform.

I love the new headline about yet another fake grassroots group. I'm not sure whether the motive force is a need to counter or envy.
At any rate, I'm reminded of a movie from the 60's called "Please Don't Drink the Water". It had Jackie Gleason and George Constantine in it, and this family winds up barricaded in a US Embassy somewhere behind the Iron Curtin. There's a great scene where there is a roll call and schedule of events for a 'spontaneous demonstration/riot' at the Embassy later that day, complete with discussion on Yuri, who is slated to be beaten and dragged off by the police. The organizer asks, "Yuri, you got another one left in you? and Yuri indicates yes'.

I consistently oppose Rick Perry's three anti-constitutional strikes against US citizens' rights.
1. Trans-TX Corridor, abuses of eminent domain, PERRY'S brainchild.
2. Gardasil, PERRY'S executive order for all girls to be vaccinated in order to attend public schools.
3. Eldorado, TX fabricated case, depriving familial communications, forcibly removing all non-adults from their homes, separated from siblings, casting hundreds of children into CPS that had insufficient facilities. Perry denied those concerned access to his office.
What public stance or policy did Rick Perry ever take in defense of the rights of US citizen TX residents abused by federal authoritarian aggressions? A firmly written letter to Obama. What about the non-military personnel Hasan victims at Ft. Hood? What of the uber weird (even uber Austin weird) bodiless victims of the plane crash into the IRS leased bldg.? No comment. Or the supposed hooded gunman assassinated in the UT PC Library by Austin SWAT, what of his family's rights if not his own right to the judicial process? No comment. And the latest is the most comprehensive, the unanimously voted for TX House Bill with near unanimous TX Senate support that Perry/Dewhurst nixed, campaigning behind closed doors to sabotage the bill that would inhibit TSA officers from genital groping without due cause? Perry managed to deny the bill a vote in regular session, hoping to kill it, procrastinating the bill be recognized in Special Session for a vote, meanwhile flooding the media news with erroneous propaganda as if the bill hasn't the majority if not near unanimous support from Senators as well as Texans. Perry did the same moves against the repeated conservative efforts to bring the TX Bill requiring Voter ID -- not allowing the bill a vote in the Senate, placing it last and excusing its non-vote as if time expired, when the Special Session doesn't end until the Governor closes it.
Regarding how our small businesses in Texas are going, having owned my own and my better half employed in his these several decades in Texas, I speak from my own experience which amounts to more than mere opinion.
Your own opinion is just that. And it is you who failed to substantiate your views. And I don't give credence to Y-not, and neither should you when failing in dialogue. Telling the person with evidence to fuck off and ride that pony back where he came from doesn't win an argument.

Do you have any clue how ED and Condemnation work in Texas? In the interest of full disclosure, I used to work for TxDOT in the ROW office in Austin. The concept behind the TTC was sound; it's implementation, poor.
Are you objecting to the EO or the vaccine itself? Conveniently, most protests ignore the opt out clause.
WTF? How is Perry responsible for false accusations or the actions of CPS here?
As to the rest of it, I think you should listen to Alex Jones less.

No private company seized anything.
As I stated before, I worked for TxDOT in the ROW office and I know that this is always a passionate and touchy subject, but the rules regarding ED are very specific. I heard the same rhetoric from activists and land owners when we were acquiring ROW for the US 183 and Hwy 71 projects.
There is a lot of disinformation out there. And search as I may, there is not a single site that adequately explains exactly how Perry or TxDOT abused power or broke laws. It's all supposition and wild accusation.

mpurinTexas supports Rick Perry, bitch
1:55 PM During the 2007 session, Gov. Perry vetoed similar eminent domain legislation. He then refused to place eminent domain reform on the agenda for the special session in 2009. Those two actions earned him the wrath of the Farm Bureau, which came in the form of a non-endorsement in the governorÂ’s race, a stunning development considering the reputation of the group as a stalwart of the Republican Party.
Argue with the Texas Republican Party and Legislature since you failed to note the uproar and response to Perry's concerted effort. Sure, when caught with his pants down, Perry flip flopped. Just like he did when the courts determined that he'd infringed upon the constitutional rights of families outside of Eldorado.
Sure, I-35 is overcrowded. But that said, it's ridiculous to suppose that you can dissect Perry's conception of TTC from his plan to execute. Perry provided no process at the border to patrol traffic into the US/Texas. That he is more than happy to exercise abuses of power is a poor reason to support his potus candidacy. It wasn't simply the land grab, nor giving the contracts to globalist corporations to build/own our highway and impose tolls themselves; our opposition to Perry's TTC was consistent with our opposition to open borders and our opposition to NAFTA that predates Perry.
Perry's economic record has injured small businesses, not simply by consistently caving into federal authoritarian demands despite public outcry for the Governor to protect the constitutional rights of US citizens in Texas. Perry passed into law the Franchise Fees newly imposed in Texas that injures small businesses. He has done nothing to alleviate the unreasonable federal mandates burdening Texas businessmen with administrative overhead to complete and submit never-ending forms to comply with new mandates. There's nothing new to the sentiment agonizing over Papers! Papers!
Those who say that constitutional rights only apply to popular and politically correct "acceptable" people play elitists and authoritarian apologists.
Regarding polygamists, I've consistently opposed the institution. Perry's West Texas voters had misgivings for selling a ranch to polygamists, and likely chewed on Perry's ear to do something to get rid of them. Regardless, I reject the "right" of government agencies to use false witnesses --to FAIL to verify the validity of a case, to fabricate the evidence to excuse carrying out the agenda-- in order for the state to order the use of law enforcement agents to forcibly remove and entire community of non-adults, hundreds of children at once, from their parents, from their siblings, thrust into the system incapable of caring for so many at once. That the parents were refused communications with the Governor did not keep Perry clean from the unconstitutional fall-out that his administration. This happened on Perry's watch, and the buck stops with Perry.
How anyone could excuse Perry's executive order mandating that all girls must be vaccinated against genital warts in order to attend school is really too much. That Merck donated significantly to Perry's PAC is the cherry on top.
I think it's a crying shame that more hosts don't frequently feature intelligent guests opportunities on public venues. Good hosts are even more rare an entity than good guests. I miss Fred Thompson's show, and Mark Steyn is only an occasional substitute. I do find it informative to listen to Lord Monckton, Steve Pieczeni, Webster Griffin Tarpley, and Bob Chapman. That you don't listen to them is your choice, and marks your own boundaries.
To match your full disclosure, I'll wrap this up stating that I don't listen to Alex Jones himself because he doesn't maintain credible limits in his rants. Like many, he goes too far. Going too far weakens whatever point. You might recall my speculation that Alex Jones survives the air waves precisely because he plays the establishment's useful idiot given his reputation that taints whatever message he might correctly espouse. I never knew who he was until Michelle Malkin started their flame war, erroneously claiming at HotAir that he threatened to kill her while she ridiculed his protest against the Federal Reserve, Malkin's cameraman taunting the protesters to levitate. I viewed her video of that incident repeatedly in order to make a clear memory. All around, everyone played "reset" with their political opponent's buttons, ending up overcharged.
