They were playing Mexico in L.A. “We don’t need no assimilation gringos”.
Yes, we need some major immigration reform, but I donÂ’t think either Party really knows what that word means anymore.
After the game the closing ceremony was conducted only in Spanish
Americans should be outraged.

And speaking of lying shit-weasels
Rep. Jim Clyburn (S.C.), the assistant House Democratic leader and a member of the debt-limit negotiating team, said Sunday that closing tax loopholes are not the same as tax increases.
OK IÂ’ll agree with that to some extent s long as the loophole is a real loophole. IÂ’ll even agree to kill special deductions and credits that one company in an industry gets that others donÂ’t get. (i.e. ethanol).
“The fact of the matter is, we have on the table all kinds of revenue raises that [Republicans] keep calling tax increases. How do you call closing loopholes to oil companies that are making billions of dollars in profits, closing up these loopholes that would generate $40 to $50 billion in revenue, how do you call that a tax hike?” Clyburn said on ABC News’s "This Week".
Except that like all the commiecrats so-called “loopholes” that they want to close they either want to close off legitimate business expenses, or as in the case of their last attack on evil oil, a tax deduction that all businesses that have foreign operations get.
“That is no tax hike. You only hike taxes when you raise rates,” he argued.
And that my friends is just about as stupid as stupid gets. Because when you take away deductions you do in fact raise rates.
Morons, be aware that they
want to go after the home mortgage deduction now as well. Of course, they want
to do this “only for the evil rich”.
Which is how every damn tax there is started.
(More to come)

Mike Wallace's son asking Bachmann: "Are you a flake?"
Yeah, he apologized. But:
1) can you even fathom anyone asking a Democrat woman (or Joe Biden, who is a flake) this sort of "do you still beat your wife?" question?
2) The MFM will, and have already been, playing the question without any context. Heard it already on ABE radio news.

I am waiting for someone to ask a Democrat if they are a Communist, which is more truthful than asking anyone in politics if they are a flake. (Except maybe Kacinch)

How about their picks for the next Republican Secretary of State. You would think instead of a Democrat and Lindsey Graham they would have Bolton in there somewhere. But no, they donÂ’t.

Helps the bankers, for sure. They use it as a lure.
Doesn't help the poor/low income economic classes as they don't buy enough house to make the interest deduction(itemized) worth more than the standard deduction(which everyone gets).
It sure helps the upper middle, though. And the rich. And they, like the poor, don't want to give up anything!
Human nature.

It takes a rare sort of skill to print or stamp money and lose money in the process. But our gubmint is clearly up to the task. It costs about 1.8 cents to make a penny. They also had a major problem with the $100 bill recently, where $110 billion worth of them had to be put into 'quarantine'.....status unknown.
But I'm sure they will do much better running health care.

I am prefectly fine with them rooting for their home team. I just want them to do do it in their home which is obviously NOT here.

So the call for for immigration "reform" and another round of amnesty is abject BULLSHIT.
In addition, if there was ever a group migrant illegals who had no fear of deportation, it is the ones in Southern CA who openly flaunt themselves and have been doing so for years.
Furthermore when this administration took office it became apparent that NONE of them need fear deportation.

What's hysterical is the pretzels you're twisting yourself into to make this our fault.
According to you, immigrants are hardworking people who want to be part of the American Dream. But us mean hateful bigots want to deport them, so they've 'turned' and now don't want to be Americans anymore. Yet they'll still stay here and still receiving free goodies from taxpayers to subsidize their behavior.
But then, if they really wanted to assimilate in the first place, why did they enter the country illegally? Why don't they pay taxes?
Fact is - and you know this, you are just being obtuse - they didn't consider themselves Americans to start with, and they don't really care to assimilate.

And yes, the us is almost always the visitors in LA. it sucks, and you'd think somethign could be done about it, but it's fairly comon there, and Dallas/Houston too.

It isn’t that he lied. It isn’t even that on those rare occasions when he told the truth (“I want to fundamentally change America…”) that people chose not to believe him. It isn’t that when people saw his associations that people chose to ignore them. It isn’t that so much of this man’s past has been purposefully buried, obscured and just plain made up.
It is that, notwithstanding all of the above, so large of a segment of American society chose to support him, and still does that will drive a stake through the heart of this country.
Posted by: Hussein the Plumber at June 27, 2011 05:17 AM (jx2j9)
I can't access the Mexico/USA soccer story at the moment, but I read the same story last night in the LA Times and it pissed me off. Why? Because of this quote (I'm not sure if it's in the ESPN story):
“I love this country, it has given me everything that I have, and I’m proud to be part of it,” said Victor Sanchez, a 37-year-old Monrovia resident wearing a Mexico jersey. “But yet, I didn’t have a choice to come here, I was born in Mexico, and that is where my heart will always be.”He didn't have a choice to come here. So apparently his parents sent him here when he was a wee babe? Like Jose Vargas? Yet he chooses to stay. Why doesn't he make the choice to go home to his beloved Mexico instead of staying here?
THAT is the attitude that has my blood boiling.

That said, I understand how those rules get written.
Although flag flying is a good thing, some people are lazy or stupid and don't do it properly. To eliminate the unsightliness of the dummies there would have to be rules about the height and position of a flag pole and how and when the flag is flown. There would then have to be enforcement which would entail measuring and monitoring which means money for someone to do this.
Also someone's going to say that if the US flag can be flown, why can't I fly my (insert country or favorite flag here) flag?
By outlawing ALL flags, they make enforcement easy; any
flag == no, no flag == OK, and they eliminate the equal flag flying problem.
Just saying these HOA's aren't necessarily anti-American flag.

Actually, they didn't outlaw flags, just flag poles without prior approval. Based on the article, I think the vet is in the wrong here. Now if I lived in that community, I'd try to get as many people as possible to fly a flag from their house. Not to protest the rule, but just to support the vet.
What the article didn't mention (and I didn't dig deeper) is whether there's been any bias by the HOA in appproving flag poles.
A funny aside, when I drive past those condo complexes, I always seem to see a bunch of flags and sometimes bunting at the entrance to draw the eye and advertise the place.

And I wonder if all of those flags/bunting violate some counties' (or the HOA itself) restrictions on amount of external advertising...
