In this extremely vituperative hit piece by Mark Morford, SFGate columnist/asshole, we find out that:
Meanwhile, while you were sleeping, while you were allowing your attention to wander to issues more pressing, heartwarming and good, such as gay New Yorkers in love and goofy dogs running marathons, easily the most insane and wide-eyed squirrelmonkey pseudo-politician in your lifetime announced that she is hereby running for president of the United States.
There's plenty more and it's even nastier. Yes, low sloping makes an appearance too. Michele didn't make a friend with this douche. I'm sure she is heartbroken.

But that tactic took a different turn this week when hundreds of illegal immigrants filled the largest hearing room in the Senate to openly participate in the proceedings.
And they did so without threat of arrest from the nationÂ’s chief immigration law enforcement official who was sitting in the front row: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

However, Amazon, Overstock and other online retailers promptly canceled their California based affiliates, so there will be no new sales tax receipts.
Also, the the State Board of Equalization reported $124 million in state income taxes paid by affiliates in 2009, so California can say goodbye to those taxes too.
Expected: $200 million gain
Actual: $124 million loss

Most of the States, including my own, have been beating arounD the bush on this for a while. Now the bankrupt State of CA hits them “TAX THE INTERNET”. Never mind that the Supreme Court ruled this unconstitutional long ago.

In that future, best sex tapes will be on file for the only jobs available being government. Won't need to submit a copy of the best, except to show your own preference for consideration. Today's televisions can record and transmit electronically, whether on or off, unless unplugged. Aside from the wonders of the uninhibited Cyber Czar authoritarians running government, thank the wonders of technology and energy star networking of public utilities. Gives a new emphasis to the "public" -- no expectation of privacy since we all purchased our sets without any coercion -- excepting that old sets can't receive the federally approved tv signals.
Our hope is the incompetence of gubmint employees who have no moral dilemma raping the private citizens in public as a right of passage (ex: TSA) since it isn't "rape-rape" when you use a finger. /We consumers asked for it./

Holder and company got what they wanted with their illegal gun running scheme
ATF's ‘Fast and Furious’ gun-tracking program prompts gun laws debateRep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) released a report Thursday pushing lawmakers to strengthen the country’s gun laws and regulations to better equip law enforcement agents in their fight against illegal weapons trafficking.
The 26-page report, titled, “Outgunned: Law Enforcement Agents Warn Congress They Lack Adequate Tools to Counter Illegal Firearms Trafficking,” was released ahead of Cummings’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Thursday.
Those who said we were just advancing another stupid conspiracy theory are proven wrong. Also notice the headline; “gun tracking”, WTF did they track?
As for the report, yes they need some more “tools” for illegal forearms “trafficking”. Its called impeach, arrest, and prosecute Eric Holder and company.

Why NevadaÂ’s upcoming special election is worth watching
Last Saturday, the Nevada Democratic PartyÂ’s Central Committee selected State Treasurer Kate Marshall to be the Democratic candidate in the upcoming special election to replace now-Sen. Dean Heller in the House of Representatives.
Yes, this could be an important bell-weather. Keep in mind it was the unions who kept Dingy Harry in ffice with a well-healed GOTV effort. We will see here is they will mobilize for someone other than Dingy Harry. If they do, it means we can permanently write off NV as just another Blue State.
The combination of fleeing CA liberals and union goons will have sunk it.

What's pathetic about the so-called leading GOP candidate is that he only promotes himself as the "anyone but Obama" incumbent opponent.
The ad is effective in THAT message, and anyone's name except Obama's could culminate the final shot.
But where's the distinction from Obama? And where's the plan for voters to applaud? Mitt's '08 solutions to the unemployment were to save manufacturing industry in America through government contracts. And he said then that the manufacturing jobs were gone from America forever, and that people had to retrain for "good" jobs -- meaning bureaucratic government jobs. Just what we need, a GOP Obama.
And on foreign wars, Mitt would also perpetuate the Bush precedence for the Obama Doctrine, "the more the merrier." The only "position" Mitt announced is that he won't try to nation build, after Palin said that, after Bill Kristol admitted that nation building had proved a miserable (stupid) idea that FAILED. People thinking that Mitt will somehow prove a great CinC strategist are in for total disillusionment. And the same criticism applies to Rick Perry who couldn't even keep his Governor's Mansion from being gutted by arson. These elitists' military instinct amounts only to unleashing the hounds at every false alarm, yet partying away while the house burns down under their nose. No effective plan in place; no implementation of common sense. Total disconnect with military prowess.

The countries will have to turn inward and try to become self sufficient. That will last for a while but the truth is, most countries cannot be self sufficient. They will have to trade and they wonÂ’t have anything of value to exchange. The subsequent events are predictable. This could get very ugly.

A 16-year-old juvenile will be tried as an adult in the Five Points beating case, 5th Circuit Solicitor Dan Johnson said Wednesday. And he is seeking to charge two other juveniles in the case as adults.
Johnson also said he has spoken with U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles and asked his office to investigate whether the Five Points assault can be considered a hate crime.
As to that latter thing, with Holder in office? Not a chance in hell. In addition, IIANM the feds can only move in with a Hate Crime charge if the State/Local authorities do not prosecute “adequately”. Just another reason the hate crime law is bullshit. (Note: SC has no hate crime law which is good)

Well maybe SC will still have a Republican Primary
The S.C. House has overturned the first of Gov. Nikki Haley's budget vetoes, restoring a $107 million fund that will pay for economic development, technical college job-training programs, tourism advertising and college campus maintenance.
The vote is the first of 35 scheduled on Haley's budget vetoes, totaling $213 million, that the new Republican governor issued Tuesday.
(The funds for the 2012 Primaries are in this series of budget items). But note this is exactly how things started with Mark Sanford. SC is a conservative State and it is impossible for a Dem to get elected in most counties. So all the Dems in those R counties switched PartiesÂ…Â…..but not votes. Sometimes people are stupid.

The number of Americans filing claims for unemployment benefits barely fell last week, a government report showed on Thursday, suggesting the labor market was struggling to regain momentum.
It was the 12th straight week that claims have been above 400,000, a level that is usually associated with a stable labor market. Employment stumbled badly in May, with employers adding just 54,000 jobs—the fewest in eight months.
Momentum? When did we have momentum? No mention if this was unexpected

He'll buy the country club courses to own, if he hasn't already, making schmoozing that much more convenient. If there's a profit to be made at taxpayers' expense, count on it. He will reward his supporters in spades. And these elitist highest end developments (affordable housing means that if you ask whether you can afford it, you don't belong) will be his "creation" of new jobs under HUD, jobs awarded by the reverse discrimination equal opportunity employment bloated government bureaucracy.
This entirely foolish concept that the POTUS should "create jobs" is Marxist and the Republican meme. Even cutting taxes is only a band-aid rather than the tourniquet required for survival from our Federal Reserve parasite. There is no sense in paying the Fed interest, let alone outrageous interest rates, for printing money, especially when the Dollar should NOT have more paper funny money flooding out into circulation now. It isn't as if the Constitution requires the US Government to be financed by the Federal Reserve with "private" globalist anti-American interests.

In his letter to Holder, the governor specifies the U. S. laws which he thinks are being violated by the American individual and corporate participants in the flotilla:
The acts of funding, supporting, organizing and engaging in these efforts appears to constitute participation in a naval expedition against a people with whom the United States is at peace, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 960; the furnishing of a vessel with the intent that it be employed to commit hostilities against a people with whom the United States is at peace, in violation 18 U. S. C. 962; and the provision of material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 2339. See, e.g., Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project, 130 S. Why is it a bridge too far. As he says Huntsman hasnÂ’t got a chance in hell of winning the primary. The Dem polling outfit PPP said it best in their internals, he has very little name recognition outside of Utah, and the more voters learn about him the less they like.

People of European ancestry are left-brain thinkers who learn from objects such as books, while people of African ancestry are right-brained learners from an auditory and oral culture; that a Euro-centric public education system left out African music "not by neglect, but by malignant intent;" that the goal of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education court decision was never "integration" but "assimilation;" and that Africans are genetically wired to respond to different meters and scales than Europeans.
He insisted early in the lecture that "African-centered" thought is not a belief in superiority but an effort to approach history and religion from an African perspective. It is an effort to treat Africans as the subjects of history, not as "props," he said, criticizing the absence of Africa in history books prior to the slave trade.
"Things that are important do not happen until Europeans start doing it," he said.
He also touched on differences in speech, tracing them back to the slave trade when Africans applied their native tongues to the language of their owners. The idea that some black people use poor English is ridiculous, he said, because American English is itself removed from traditional English and so many variations exist, from Boston to Charleston.
"Nobody in America ever said to a white kid, 'You speak bad English," he said.
Besides, African languages lack conventions commonly found in Western languages, such as different tenses and the verb "to be," he said.
Beyond omitting the story of early Africans from history, the white supremacy that has characterized the post-Colonial world has had a profound spiritual impact, he argued.
"How do you experience God when you are in exile?" he asked. "How do you experience God when you are in oppression?"

I think you have seen them already from the eval. But don't misunderstand me, they are some issues but they would not prevent me from supporting him if he gets the nod. He will go on my list of possibles, just not at the top.
Government Regulation
I will have to say that his record here is poor to mixed. As evidenced above, he is strongly against burdensome Washington regulations and control over the States. But there are instances that really hit him hard in TX.
First the infamous Trans-Texas Corridor project which he pushed to further the connections through TX from Mexico to Canada. He would use imminent domain to take a massive amount of TX land and fund the project through tolls on the roads. After massive opposition by Texans the legislature passed a bill to defeat it. He vetoed the bill (after returning to the State from overseas) just before the legislature adjourned. It appears he fought hard for this massive project including proposing legislation which would “reform” imminent domain making it EASIER to take land. I have seen posts here by his supporters that say he finally backed off on the deal. I can’t find anything to support that contention. It appears that the massive project was killed first in Washington and then in Texas by the State Legislature. If any of the Morons have any info with links to show anything different from that please let me know and I’ll update this. But to me, this is a MAJOR negative hit.
Another hit is the infamous Gardicil Vaccine via executive order (something we have been killing Obama over). This order created a huge controversy in TX for several reasons. (1) It was done via executive fiat (2) It was expensive costing $360 except for “poor” (3) Social cons didn’t like it over the sexual implications (4) A lot of people worried about the safety of the drug even though it had FDA approval (keep in mind that at the time ALL vaccines were under attack because of the bogus Lancet study.) (5) In addition, there was a huge conflict of interest with the makers of the drug and Perry with implications of cronyism and possible corruption.
His supporters maintain that there was an opt out provision. The problem with that was that it required the parents to request and complete paperwork. IOW, work through a social bureaucracy to maintain your own personal choices. Although we will never know how that would have ultimately worked, we know how it has generally worked in the past (poorly). The legislature passed a bill that killed this requirement and he “allowed” it to go into effect.
My position is kind of mixed on this. I am generally in favor of immunizations, however, in one of this nature it would have been much better to work through the legislature and debate a bill rather than do it via executive fiat. If he had done that these problems would have been avoided. Now we donÂ’t know if killing this was a good deal or not. I have to give him a big negative on this one as well.
I canÂ’t find much else about Texas regulations in general. I did find that he had established some kind of record on the number of vetoes but no details on what he had vetoed.
So in the end on regulations, I have to give him a strong negative. That, in my opinion, pushes him into the negative category for small government. That seems hard to accept for someone who is supposed to be a member of the Tea Party, but that is the way the cookie crumbles.
He also has some issues on border control but they are nowhere as bad as the above.Expect him to take some heat in those areas from opponents. As Ricky Ricardo used to say "he's got some 'splainin to do".

1. He added yet another label/smear
2. He dodged naming somone.
Simply put, he's a liar. He won't really consider voting for any Republican, unless Obama does something that wounds him at some bizarre emotional level. I recently sat and listened to two people prattling on about how they were both 'middle of the road' and that they despised polaization. They then proceeded to compile a list of people tha they "hated because they were evil" (all right of center of course) and complained that Dem problems thus far were because they were"being too nice". They also gloried in the term teabagger.
I then riposted.

I wonder then, Revuruhnd, what accounts for the popularity of the blues (a uniquely American art form that begat another uniquely American art form, Jazz) among me and my (honky) peers?
He might also want to ask Eric Clapton, John Mayhall, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, John and Christine McVie, Jeff Beck, and just a couple of other guitarists about that and that whole British Blues Revival thingy back in the '60's.

People have already gotten hurt. The shit will hit the fan when some youths of unknown race try to jack up the wrong person, and one of them (or more) gets gunned down in self defense. Then it will go from "flash mob" to full blown rioting, because of course the poor disadvantaged youth will be labeled a victim.

I think I remember reading an article about him attending that conference in Europe. It was tied into the article about the TTC and his attempts to change the emminent domain laws in TX to make it easier to condemn land. The legislature had passed some kind of law that would make it harder and he came back from Europe and vetoed it just before the legislature adjourned.
I did view the conference itself as a negative because I don't know anything about it. And since it was tied into the TTC fiasco it would not have effected the eval anyway.

Communist overtones and racist Liberation"Theology" aside (and admittedly that's a lot to ignore), the simple fact that Odumdum would regularly go with his family to listen to this "holy man"(?) and celebrated ignoramus speak about anything, told anyone that was paying attention at the time everything that they needed to know about his hope and change.

I'd imagine that those types of meetings could have been held in relative obscurity in the past. But in today's electronically connected world, I can see where that wouldn't be the case.

There's a lot of misinformation out on both of those topics, particularly the TTC. The biggest red flag should be that of all the "protests" over the TTC, they're from activist groups and the Alex Jones types.
He may have difficulty explaining because to do so he would have to make people understand exactly how Condemnation and ED work in Texas. People making wild assed claims that private companies were seizing lands are just flat out full of shit. They also claim that landowners were offered "pennies on the dollar" which, again, is bullshit in that being offered an amount of money which may be laughable is not the same as being forced off your land. I could walk up to your house and say "I really like that Mustang in your driveway, I'll give you a hundred bucks for it." You, of course, would laugh me off your porch and you would still own your car. Point is, making folks understand how the rules regarding ED work is boring and not near as exciting as "land grabber".
Further, I think the concept behind the TTC was sound, considering the amount of freight coming out of Mexico up IH35. Perry maintains the concept was sound, and he'll have to make his case. (If this even becomes an issue outside of Texas)
The Guardasil thing is easily explained, even if he shrugs and says I thought it was a good idea at the time, but now I see that I was over reaching. (Or something to that effect)

OK, but based on memory w/o a pile of links etc
1. Cap and Trade/AGW
Both of them were pro-AGW; both fail
2. Gun Control
I think both are pro-second amendment, positive
3. Small government in general (spending and regulation)
Bush fails on spending
McCain maybe pass on spending
Taxes Bush positive
McCain negative
Regulation
Both fail, can you say "no child"
Overall small government; both fail
4. Socialized Healthcare
Bush drug bill fail
McCain unknown neutral
5. Border control/Amnesty
Both get massive fail here
6. Abortion
Both positive here
Bush -4 +2 0-N overall -2
McCain -3 +2 1-N overall -1
McCain's negatives really are enhanced though because of his willingness to stab us in the back.

Recall Iceland and apply their economic epiphany to every other nation being appointed a debt burden that's not of the sovereign nation's making, but rather, mandated from the globalist investment industry with the vested interest in omnipotence via Catch-22 screw you policy.
Bob Chapman, former Reagan administration economist and investment adviser, says that though the Greeks may be too laid back, they're not so stupid as to assume responsibility for debts that aren't of their own making. And he advises the Greeks, the Irish, Americans et al. to reject the financial debt obligations that belong to the globalist investment industry that corruptly constructed the debt as leverage. So far as sovereign nations are concerned, the buck stops with the World Bank investments/insurance Ponzis. That scheme is unacceptable, and to be refused by our elected representatives, rejecting its assumption on our tax bill or our personal financing bill. But then, the only potus platform to fight that and implement functioning Austrian Economics for American prosperity is the Libertarian/Republican constitutional conservative. The neoconservative Republican agenda is at direct odds with economic recovery, selling band-aids instead of applying tourniquets on bloodletting $pending.
Smaller, local banks have a mutual respect with their customers; a State bank encourages the economy therein; a national bank printing its own money would be closer to reflecting the sovereign interest of that nation, and avoid the oppressive interest finance charge demanded by the Federal Reserve to pay that bank to print our Dollar. Don't stay stuck on stupid, as Gen. Honore responded.
Btw, analysts advise that the municipal bonds market is about to replicate what America experienced via the mortgage meltdown -- "insufficient ongoing public disclosure'' -- compounded beyond comprehension by absolute corruption.
Last time it was Paulson's US Treasury/Goldman Sachs Ponzi fraud that ruined everyone's economies (excepting the globalist investment industry who made off with the Ponzi scheme "success", turning around and placing the burden to repay their swindle on the victims themselves, citizen taxpayers). This time is no surprise given the Federal Reserve's autonomous track record defying Congress compounded by the Bush Executive Order empowering the Treasury Secretary (Geithner) with complete autonomy. That represents Marxism through Republican leadership implementation via bi-partisan "common values". Political corruption is nothing new, of course. But the extent that a well educated citizenry would remain in this willing suspension of disbelief is reaching new records. Regardless of major party identification or establishment friendly candidate name, it amounts to the same corruption based on the premise, "Because I Could."
Both Romney and Perry already bed with the investment industry pirates.
Were the rioting that we see in Greece to be the response of Americans when forcibly removed from their homes by this globalist corporate institution, at best, the Romney/Perry potus obtuse response would sound like Little Bill, "I don't deserve this. I was building a house."
More of the same from new phrases and faces amounts to subjugation under authoritarianism. Anticipate the worst before casting your ballot since '12 either makes or breaks the survival of what matters to working American tax payers.
It was Mark Steyn arguing that America hasn't 10 years to survive even given Paul Ryan's roadmap implementation. Finally, what was it that Republicans crow about for causing the demise of the USSR? The Russians spent more than they had on meeting the demands required to maintain the prestige as a global superpower. Worst part of that irony is that Bush did with Afghanistan what Kennedy/LBJ did with Vietnam, taking over where the previous empire left off in failure, in order to spread democracy, effectively meaning that the majority Islamic sect rules, the genocide of all others, accomplished through the auspices of the US Military. And to think, Kissinger's still around to crow over "peace with honor". But given another establishment politician in the Oval Office, this time, troops aren't going to come home so long as "prestige" determines our national policy. And this time, the CIA is officially directing our national policy and our Military. It's more than cooperative intelligence; it's who is authorized to issue the orders.
For separation of powers, we need a potus who remains skeptically aloof of overt CIA authoritarian manipulation that currently manages our entire nation, government and citizens, mandating compliance to official propaganda, unconstitutionally prosecuting citizens and States.
I've heard what Ron Paul wouldn't do as POTUS/CinC as if to ignore the constitutional platform, to defend and secure our borders, to eschew obtuse interventionist and invasive wars determined by non-sovereign-US interests that are foreign instead of domestic, to refrain from initiating a war that fails from the onset given no clear agenda/strategy and begun without Congressional approval. What's ironic is the public bias distrust being based on perpetuating authoritarianism rather than support our Constitutional Renaissance. Ron Paul as CinC could not neglect his constitutional duty should the USA be invaded by a foreign military. The Congress would declare war, and the Congress would be too happy to impeach any president that refuses to defend the US from military invasion. The essential problem that he addresses is what the Libertarian inspired Tea Party movement protests -- that our current government no longer represents American citizens; that today's government is permeated by interests whose power is funded by globalist powers which amount to an economic coup de tat -- worse than a military invasion-- being the end result of being militarily conquered; that constitutional smaller and limited government requires cuts across the board; and for America to work smarter rather than working harder to stupidly assume globalist debts fabricated by the investment industry fraud of Ponzi schemes.
Given America's status quo being The Road to Serfdom, Republican roadmap or not, Liberty matters every bit as much as, if not more than, abuses of corrupt power dominating life.
There has to be balance, not the current monopolization of power. We're extended over an economic precipice in the towering inferno. But it doesn't necessarily take an Islamic jihadist to arson the government's chief executive mansion. Ask James Madison. You have as good a chance getting a response from Rick Perry.
Posted by: moderation in all things at June 30, 2011 08:28 AM (lpWVn)
Funny. His executive order flip flop followed exposition of his corruption, Perry confronted by the outraged public.
To foresee the foreshadowing of what a policy will effect ... Perry is not brilliant.
Perry lost the legal arguments. You can't order only one gender to be vaccinated against a disease that affects both genders; and you can't executive order vaccination for STD before allowing a student to receive public education.
What Perry showed is his inclination to abuse authority particularly readily when given financial contributions from globalist corporations into his PAC.
