What strategy will Obama employ to prevent the oil from coming on line?

I think Romney got the moniker "Most Conservative," not "True Conservative", considering he was running against McCain and Huckabee. Even that is a bit of a stretch though.

Well just what we need another NE liberal entering the fray
Yesterday Fox was pushing him, today the Weekly Neocon has “inside information” that he will enter the race. Yes RINO Rudy is said to be entering the Republican primary race. Keep in mind that the Contract With America passed legislation that gave us the line item veto was stuck down because of a deal with Bill Clinton and Rudy in order to give them standing in the Supreme Court (the Dems had already lost on the standing issue). Rudy is also the one that started the illegal strawman purchases of guns in Southern States using NYC detectives out of their jurisdiction. I have nothing but distain for this SOB.

Well the Senate has got in the act now
A “bipartisan” POS to get approval from Congress for Libya. The SOB is already in violation of an approved law so what good is another mealy-mouthed resolution going to do. The House should have passed the Kucinitch space cadet resolution. As much as I hate that idiot at least he was right on that one. It said get out in 14 days, which shouldn’t be too hard since “we have no boots on the ground”.
This is one more example of the what if shit. They were ready to impeach Reagan over sending weapons to Nicaragua.
And speaking of unauthorized wars, we are apparently in a secret war in Yemen as well. There is a link at Drudge by I didnÂ’t include it because it goes to the NYT.

EPA running amuck again on new regulations for coal plants
The EPA, however, tells Whispers that the hit the industry will suffer is worth the health benefits. “EPA has taken a number of sensible steps to protect public health, while also working with industry and other stakeholders to ensure that these important Clean Air Act standards—such as the first ever national Mercury and Air Toxics Standards for coal-fired power plants—are reasonable, common-sense, and achievable,” said spokesman Brendan Gilfillan.
What’s more, officials said that just one of the rules to cut sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions will would yield up to $290 billion in annual health and welfare benefits in 2014. They say that amounts to preventing up to 36,000 premature deaths, 26,000 hospital and emergency room visits, and 240,000 cases of aggravated asthma. “This far outweighs the estimated annual costs,” says an official on background.
Perhaps the SOBs will submit their means and methods for deriving these new limits to public scrutiny. The last time that happened as a result of a civil suit the judge laughed them out of court. I for one am sick of this shit. What really needs to happen is this agency needs to be totally eliminated and everyone in it fired and permanently blacklisted for public sector work.

Laura Ingram has demonstrably poor taste when it comes to men.
The "True Conservative" line itself was older, and came from Romney's campaign. Romney's flacks on the internet were copy-pasting their bullet points announcing him as such back in 2007.

Is there ANY foreign policy decision that Obama can NOT screw up
Now he is trying to screw the UK over the Falklands reversing a long held U.S. policy. Perhaps we need to have a “congressional delegation” go to the U.K. and tell them that Obama will be gone soon and to hang tough. No treaties of his will ever be approved. (that is the kind of shit that the Dems do when Republicans are in office all the time).
Posted by: Vic at June 09, 2011 03:25 AM (M9Ie6)
Obama continuing his cut and run policy in the "Stan
He is doing it in little dribbles here and there. He started with the so-called surge in which he drug his feet and then sent a tiny fraction of the military requested. He never has had any intention what-so-ever of achieving any kind of objective there. He has opposed the war from the start regardless of the lying vomit he spewed during the campaign and afterwards.
As I said when he flubbed “the surge”, get out and get out now if you are not going in to win. He is killing American troops for nothing more than political cover for his campaign lies. He is a despicable traitor and should have been impeached after the first year in office.

In the side bar there's an article about the Huma woman who's married to Weiner. What a window into the minds of the Democrats! Sadly, Conservatives are always surprised by this kind of thing - Dem wives who've been cheated on who show no public sign of outrage. It also tends to be surprising to our kind, or at least seem improbable to us, that they'd use family issues as political cover.
We should not be surprised nor consider it at all unusual. In this case especially. Supposedly Huma is a Muz. She's married to a Jew. Obviously neither of these two really have much in the way of "core principles." For all we know they could have an "open" marriage where they expect this of each other. They're almost certainly together for nothing more than financial benefit and/or status - the archetypal power couple. In any case, any woman who marries a Dem politician should know exactly what she's in for. How can anyone be surprised at this point??
This is a typical picture of the Leftist elites. All human relationships and arrangements are purely utilitarian to these people. Every one of them is a user. Everything they say is incincere, unless you catch them in an unguarded moment where their crass selfishness is allowed to be exposed.

Wow - that is one of the most made-up stats I've ever seen. Anyone with two pins for brains can tell that it's absurd. There is no way in hell that exhaust from coal plants causes a third-of-a-trillion dollars in medical costs in any given year, nor any 10 years.
How can it not be illegal for government pukes to tell such horrific lies? Not that it matters, of course, since the Dems will never turn the law on their own kind. They're too busy figuring out how to break laws while using the police against conservatives.
The new civil war in America has already begun. It's just that our side hasn't realized it and started fighting back yet.

I like this Cain guy more and more. His approach is no different from saying that he will have no communists in the administration. It's fundamentally the same, and just as valid. Maybe more valid. I'd rather live under Commies than Muz. A toxic, anti-democratic ideology should be excluded from power. If America wants Muz to be in government, they can continue voting for muz-lovers like Obastard. It would be nice to be able to vote for a guy who doesn't feel the need to lie to me all the time about Islam being a religion of peace. It's like saying the Democrats are the party of free enterprise. The sooner Americans confront what the Islamists really are, the sooner we can take steps to take care of that problem.
Posted by: Reactionary at June 09, 2011 03:46 AM (xUM1Q)
I'll try getting though the discussion with no links:
Here is the quote:
“The exact language was when I was asked, ‘Would you be comfortable with a Muslim in your cabinet?’ and I said no,” Cain said. “I would not be comfortable. I didn’t say I wouldn’t appoint one because if they can prove to me they are putting the Constitution of the United States first, they would be a candidate just like everybody else. My entire career I hired good people, great people, regardless of their religious orientation.”
To me that sounds entirely reasonable. But they go on:
BECK: So wait a minute, are you saying that Muslims have to prove, there has to be a loyalty proof?
CAIN: Yes, to the Constitution of the United States of America.
BECK: Well, would you do that to a Catholic or a Mormon?
CAIN: No, I wouldnÂ’t, I wouldnÂ’t because there is a greater dangerous part of the Muslim faith than there is in these other religions. I know there are some Muslims who talk about but weÂ’re a peaceful religion. IÂ’m sure that there are some peace-loving.
That is a little more shaky, BUT not unconstitutional as a lot of the Morons on here claim. Note that all the major appointees already must swear an oath to uphold the Constitution. Too bad 99% of the Democrats ignore it.
But in any case, I don’t see a “doubling down” here. I see him further explaining his original remarks.

A bit doctrinaire, don't you think?
Giuliani was an excellent mayor. He cleaned up New York, which had been a fucking cesspool for years. The fact that he is unsuited for the presidency is clear, but all or nothing pronouncements are not productive.
The same can be said for Christie. He is shaping up to be an excellent, fiscally conservative governor. Is he a great presidential candidate? No, he is squishy on too many social and non-financial issues. But that doesn't diminish his significant skills as governor, and his value to the country as an example of a different way to do things.

Fox is on now talking about this flap with Delta Airline charging GIs extra money for baggage fees. I had seen a little about this before but hearing what is actually going on is shocking to say the least.
This wasn't a public flight in which soldiers were flying on their own. It was a charter flight to rotate troops out of Iraq back to the States. The baggage that exceeded "allowances" was their weapons.
This was a damn charter flight to move a company and its weapons. Where are the freaking idiots that wrote a contract that allowed Delta to count weapons as private baggage and charge troops for it personally?
Some people need to be fired and the government needs to tell Delta that this BS will not fly (pardon the pun)

Vic, the founders had a concept of Honor that, when coupled with an Oath, made the Oath mean something. We are so much more nuanced now, that I do not believe that any dem, let alone any dem-muz, has any compunction about taking the Oath with all sorts of mental reservations and then actively working against the country and the Constitution.
It would not be PC, but I think the only real solution is to not allow any muz to hold any position of power (even local dog-catcher) as they cannot hold allegiance to this country and our Constitution while being muz.

As for cleaning up NYC I am not so sure of that. I have read many reports that say (1) he took credit for projects already in progress from the previous Mayor and (2) that the majority of their reduction in crime is from a reduction in their reporting and not actual crime.
I'll leave that to the NYC Morons to decide. In any even, as someone posted earlier, he may be fine for NYC but he sucks as a Republican Presidential candidate.

Yesterday I said I would do a daily wrap up of the candidates one each day in the order of the PPP poll which had just been published. However, in doing the first one I found that White Paper page from the Club For Growth which aided immensely in the portion dealing with “small government/regulations”. They haven’t finished all the candidates yet and the next candidate up by the PPP poll would be Palin, who hasn’t been done yet. So I am going to modify the order and do it by the List on that page, and hopefully by the time I go through all of the ones they have done so far they will have completed the remainder of the candidates.
So the next candidate will be the old horndog that we all know and love, and who appears to be doing better than expected in the polls, Eye of Newt.
Cap and Trade/AGW
Epic fail, he sat on the couch with Nancy and touted Crap and Tax with her. To me this would be enough by itself for him to get the hell out of the race.
Gun Control
His rhetoric strongly supports the 2nd amendment but I can find no actual legislation that he has been involved with that supports the rhetoric. Since he has been proven to be untrustworthy I am not sure how much credit I could give him for this rhetoric.
Small government in general (spending and regulation)
The Club For Growth gives him strong marks on Tax and Spend. Unfortunately those strong marks are based on his tenure in the House many years ago. They are troubled by his more recent support for liberal candidates and some of the more liberal of GWBÂ’s programs like the medicare drug stuff.
I will also give this quote “And his occasional hostility toward conservatives who do not share his desire to support liberal Republicans or to compromise on matters of principle is worrisome.” I don’t know what they are referring to here but it may be his attacks on the Ryan Plan and “right wing social engineering”. But to me between the support for cap and trade and attacks on the budget cut plan tell me that his past record on small government is no longer applicable. He has sold out.
Socialized Healthcare
As stated above, he supported the drug program of Bush-Kennedy. His current rhetoric strongly opposes Obamacare. Again, it is rhetoric.
Border control/Amnesty
The “On the Issues” site is not much good for this topic and it is not covered by the club for growth stuff. However, a Bing search (easily done) gives multiple hits for speeches and interviews (rhetoric) recently where he “reaches out” to Hispanics with reform ideas of immigration (sound familiar?). Basically he has gone squish/McCain on immigration while denying that it is amnesty (they all hate that label). Again this is rhetoric as immigration laws were not a hot topic when he was in congress. But with his rhetoric on the wrong side now it doesn’t matter.
Abortion
On this one, both past and
present he has always been pro-life. But his personal life kills him with the socialcon crown anyway.
So in summary I don't even know why he is in the race. He is toast because he has managed to piss off everyone and he can't even claim he is reaching out to independents (liberals). They will NEVER vote for him anyway.

MamaAJ, I am assuming that flight you were on was a normal scheduled flight where you flew under some kind of military discount. From what I gathered from the Fox (TV) coverage this was a charter flight, hired by the government, to transport a company of troops from Iraq back to the States, with their gear.

<gulps coffee>
The airlines gave us a nice discount when we took a plain ol' regular flight. Just seemed worth mentioning, not actually relevant.
On a charter flight for troops, I don't know if this is how it usually works or not. Maybe the airline did something wrong, but it may just be that they charge for it and the troops get reimbursed and they should have known it. That doesn't seem like a good way to do things, but that doesn't mean it ain't how it's done.
I can definitely find out and will report back...don't know how soon, though.

I don't think the poor wife is that beautiful, that elegant, that poised, any of that. The MSM is just fawning over her because it makes them feel good to do so, having missed the ball on the sexting and the lying and the unfuckingbelievability of Weenie's arrogance. It helps them avoid the embarrassment.
Beautiful is really a hard push. Take a look at her features, then at Weiners. How they thought that combination was a good idea to combine genetically is beyond me. It's actually scary. Some sort of weird toothy constipated ostrich creature.

1) Ever try to get a reimbursment from DOD?
2) The 3 bag limit was in the contract with Delta
3) Military coming back from deployment don't always carry a credit card so reimbursment or not, that presents a problem
My husband travels for work and has a gov't credit card. He has to pay for meals and stuff and get reimbursed. And yes, yes it can be a real joy to have to pay the credit card long before getting the money for it.
I think it was a bad situation but I'm not sure Delta was at fault. Sure got a lot of bad publicity.
The whole traveling on commercial airlines still seems weird to me, despite seeing that happen for years. They had an 18 hour layover? They had to buy their own meals and eventually get reimbursement for that.
And I'm still extremely, extremely pissed about when my husband came back from Iraq and they wouldn't pay for the flight to our town, but made him go to the airport 3.5 hours away.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio restaurant mentioned last week by President Barack Obama as an indirect beneficiary of the government's Chrysler bailout will go out of business Sunday after a more than 70-year history.
Co-owner Richard Lawrence of New Chet's Restaurant in Toledo says business has fallen victim to the economy and the workplace smoking ban approved by Ohio voters in 2006. He told The Blade newspaper of Toledo on Wednesday that auto industry cutbacks also hurt.
Lawrence says he used to deliver up to $300 in food per week to Chrysler Group LLC's Jeep plant in Toledo, but now that's down to about $100 worth.
Obama visited the plant on Friday and told workers that without them, who would eat at Chet's or patronize other local businesses?

Vic, I lived in NYC in the Koch & Dinkins years, and some of Rudy's years. Take it from a guy who loves busting on NE Republicans, who are by and large a scurilous bunch: the turnaround of the City under Rudy was astonishing. Even though he's too liberal to ever get my vote in a primay, I'd have no problem pulling the lever for him in a general election--no problem whatever.
I can't say that for Mitt. Pulling the lever for Mitt is accepting socialism as the new law of the land. I'm never going to do that. Never.

You know meat packing is a hopping place. It's funny every time I say "we're going to meat packing" my mom's automatic response is "be careful, it's so dangerous there" cause before Rudy it truly was so very dangerous. Now it's a thriving area. Of course, she's seen it and now it's a joke but in the beginning it was very funny. The city, when she was in college, was becoming a dangerous dangerous place. Rudy came in and cleaned it up and laid the foundation for a lot of things transforming even now.

Now suppose certain people are aware of this. Certain foreign people with good intelligence. Smart people who do things like computer viruses which infiltrate Iranian centrifuges.
So, wouldn't you monitor Weiner's twitter site until you had something juicy to pass on, and then disappear without a trace?

How about some more DOJ totalitarianism to start your day? Link to the PJ Tatler.
Holder DOJ fights ArizonaÂ’s efforts to prevent illegal alien voting
“First, the Obama administration fails to do its job on the border. Then it sues Arizona to prevent us from helping to fight illegal immigration. Then it tries to create a false sense of complacency by arguing that the border is safe, when it isn’t,” Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne said in a statement. “Now it argues that persons should be able to register to vote without providing adequate information enabling verification of citizenship, thus enabling illegal aliens to register to vote. This is contrary to the interests of the people of the United States of America.”

160--hey, being a successful business man tells you nothing about a man's politics--nothing. Wall Street is full of super smart, super saavy business people who went all out for the worst President in US history. Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan, to name just one of many, many examples of smart guys who played the fool.
Mitt might have the best business resume in world history--his people have been spinning that one since 2007. Yet, he bought in bigtime to socialist healthcare and AGW. So much for business saavy. It means nothing.

Wow - that is one of the most made-up stats I've ever seen. Anyone with two pins for brains can tell that it's absurd. There is no way in hell that exhaust from coal plants causes a third-of-a-trillion dollars in medical costs in any given year, nor any 10 years.
Fossil fuels do in fact cause much higher medical bills. Don't believe me?1- The longer you live, more medical care you use.
2- Since the use of fossil fuels began we have just about doubled life expectancy.
See?

Posted by: Vic at June 09, 2011 08:07 AM (M9Ie6)
Any bag could have been the "fourth bag" but assigning that position to the weapons bag was more dramatic. Soldiers were reimbursed for the fourth bag fee.
HOWEVER:
The contract was between the DoD and Delta. Three bags free and a charge for the fourth which was stupid in that guys coming back from 'stan don't have much cash and don't generally carry credit cards. If Delta was to charge for the fourth bag, they should have billed the DoD directly, not the troops. The troops should just sign some sort of form verifying that they had a necessary fourth bag.
Delta corrected the problem.
