Why do we choose one word more than another if there isn't any difference between them? If you called a woman a chimpanzee instead of an angel, wouldn't there be a quarrel about a word? If you're not going to argue about words, what are you going to argue about?

1 Debt deal is sucking up ALL the news but have this:

On this day in 1981 MTV made its debut at 12:01 AM. The first video shown was Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles.

And yes, they killed rock music for good. Now we have talentless scrunts selling sex and mouthing lyrics to the autotune. Its not that I donÂ’t like good looking babes peddling flesh, but if I want to see babes peddling flesh there are venues for that that do it much better. When I want music, I want music.

2 I am trying to find the details of the bill as a R on F&F this morning said the deal was posted. Can't find it yet.

It appear that there isn't one. There are a series of amendments to S.627 but they have no text for them.

I will continue to look.

5 Judging from all the heads exploding on the lefty blogs, it seems this is a win for the GOP.  I know Tea Party types don't think so.. especially the ones who thought shutting everything down was a good idea (I didn't).

I hope this is a lesson to the GOP, though. Over the next 12 months we need to hit the Dems, and Obama especially, with the fact that they have refused to pass a budget for 2 1/2 years.  We need to keep telling the electorate that the only way we will get this debt under control is by putting Repubs in control of the House, Senate and WH.

I don't think the MBM is going to suck his dick a whole lot for this deal. The whole economy is crashing and he's still playing petty politics. Ah well, 15 months plus a few days until we find out if he will join the ranks of the unemployed.

Not a victory in a real sense.. in a political sense..

The "deal" was never gonna be a win.. it was never going to reduce short-term deficits.  We don't control the Senate or the White House.

What the GOP did accomplish, though, is to make the deficit and the economy the number one issue in next year's election.  That just about the best win we could hope for.  Barky's numbers have plunged 10 points during this debacle.. he looks more and more the fool hye really is despite the MSM's attempt to make him look like a leader.

29 Establishment politicians have proven the Bible warning to be true.  You can't serve two masters.  I am proud of our tea party politicians, and disgusted by the  rest.  All we can do now is to rub our "victory" in the noses of the Kos kids--to make them hate Obama.  Let them help us to get rid of him.

Let's hope the negative "I solved the debt crisis" numbers last a lot longer than the positive "I killed Osama" numbers.  Since I think the economy will remain in the tank, the leadership from behind persona should remain in the public mind.

Oh, BTW, Happy Ramadan to Obama.

33 There was never a song to commemorate it, but internet killed the MTV.

And previously, radio killed the public's "appreciation" of classical music .

So far as modern advertising and marketing goes, what the lowest denominator wants is all that anyone can have. Water gravitates to the lowest ground.

Social Justice or Slavery, by any other name, is what these politicians and political parties running our government enforce using all their amassed authoritarian powers usurped and assumed from office. And fools want MORE, offering up their neighbors, cities and states as collateral, all sold down the river. Voters demanding that the government function as constitutionally authorized are stuck on stupid campaigning for a "new" face from the same corrupt deck of cards, as if Perry (for example) would effect any constitutional preservation in office. The US Constitution never dictated Perry's administration as Governor of Texas as he abused his authority in repeated over-extension of authority to deny US citizens' legitimate rights.

People look at Texas as a grand example of economic prosperity. Note well, Texas prospers BECAUSE the State Constitution denies the Governor any strong executive powers -- nipping abuse of executive powers before it can overwhelm the Judicial and Legislative response to public outcry (functional so long as there isn't total collusion -- not the case in Washington). If America is to prosper again, our government must abide by the key to our well being, our Constitution, focusing on official LIMITATIONS, directing our efforts towards achieving official RESPONSIBILITY.

Gov. Perry showed his characteristic lack of respect for the Constitution when it gets in his way for profitable kickbacks and globalist endorsements for potus ambitions, and his necessary evangelical support. Perry snuffed the Texas Tea Party. And given Friday's congressional votes for Boehner's bill, every Texas Republican other than Congressman Ron Paul voted against the Tea Party agenda to cut spending. Don't look to the Republican Party to provide any constitutional governance or constitutional conservancy in candidates for public office. Even those like Alan West who run as a "Tea Party" candidate are just more of the same Republicans gaining public office in order to get theirs and more of that public debt for taxpayers but pie in the sky for establishment corruption enablers. Once elected, these Republicans eschew those constituents who trusted them, calling the Tea Party radical threatening anarchists requiring the DHS to put away.

The final step to providing private college funds for thousands of undocumented students in Illinois is on the docket.

Following positive cues from Mayor Rahm Emmanuel and lawmakers, Gov. Pat Quinn will sign the Illinois DREAM Act (SB 2185) on Monday.

Quinn plans to sign the legislation at Benito Juarez High School in ChicagoÂ’s Pilsen neighborhood alongside members of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, local leaders and community members. Emanuel and Congressman Luis Gutierrez also were invited.

"The signing of this bill into law marks the successful culmination of these efforts and confirms that Illinois is not only an immigrant-friendly state but also a national leader on moving fair, humane, and practical solutions," Quinn said in a statement.

The Illinois DREAM Act won't cost Illinois taxpayers anything, he reiterated.

A lot of other crap needs cutting as well.. but defense has to be up there near the top because it is one of the costliest programs we have going.

40 Whether or not this is a "victory" will be determined after:

1) Legislation is written and we can read it
2) Whether of not it gets passed
3) How the buyers of T-Bills think it will work.

It is they who will determine the final status of the United States.

Not congress as they have kicked the can down the road. Not the voters because they elected a wad of traitorous communist scum into the white house and too many socialist shit weasels into congress.

If the T-Bill buyers think that the legislation will get control of spending they will buy T-Bills but count on interest rates going up after Nov 2012.

If they think it is another load of smoke and mirrors with "pinky swear" cuts they will continue to not buy. If that is the case we will continue to print more money.

If we print more money it will be a race to determine if we can make it to 2013 without total collapse or not.

43 As for cutting defense I am all for cutting every single damn socialist program the commies hid in the defense budget. But all of those are probably "mandatory" spending now.

The problem, as outlined by the Boner talking points, is that if the committee hits the "trigger, 50% of the required cuts will come out of defense while the other 50% come ut of SS and medicare.

Note, NONE of it comes out of TARP/Spendulous, Pigford II, city bailouts, or any other socialist programs that the commies love so well.
