Cantor urges House GOP to avoid brinksmanship in spending fights
The message from the majority leader is an effort to prevent the kinds of fights over government spending that could lead to government shutdowns this fall if Congress cannot agree on legislation to fund the government.
Our House leadership have entirely forgotten the election of 2010 and the strategy that they said they were going to implement. They are also not only throwing out the only Ace they have in the hole, but they are also letting the Dems know that they will bend over for any deal the Dems offer. But in the end, what they are really doing is telling tea party Americans to raise a 3rd Party because the Republican Party will not fight. Indeed, a good portion of them are little better than the Dems. Obama, Pelosi, and Harry Reid have succeeded. They have managed to split the Republican Party with their rhetoric because the crying Boners, The measly McConnels, and the weasely Cantors are scared they will get some bad press.
The ideal solution would be the primary some more RINOs and some of the “deal makers” and elect more hardcore conservatives until they are the majority. The problem with that is there simply is no time.

McConnell appoints another "loophole closer" to tax panel.
All the signs point to tax increase folks.
And the irony McConnellÂ’s message to Obama: Stop pushing your failed economic policies

Some even more serious WTF crazy from the Holder in chief at DOJ
Holder want documents from Issa for “independent investigation”. Since Issa got the documents from the DOJ to begin with why does he need Issa’s copies? Answer, he doesn’t. This is political bullshit. But he is right about one thing. It is time for the committee to stop its investigation and turn it over to a special prosecutor for a real independent investigation.

Even more epic stupid from the Super Committee
The 3 commies appointed by land deal Reid want to include an INCREASE in spending for stimulus. Yes Crying Boner and Measly McConnell are to be congratulated for making this “deal”. Basically what we have done is negate any strengths the conservatives had, create a group with almost unlimited power, and hand them the reigns.
And some of the Morons say
Bachmann was “crazy” for voting against this deal.
And that's it folks. Most of the "news" this morning is the SOS.

Might as well throw up some EPA red meat too:
If you're looking for a dramatic example of a government regulatory agency run amok, consider EPAÂ’s arbitrary and shameful attack on one Texas natural gas company.
In December 2009, one Steven Lipsky noticed a problem with his water well at his new home just west of Dallas, Texas. He began to suspect that the source was a nearby natural gas well that Range Resources had built and “fracked” earlier that year to exploit a part of the massive Barnet Shale a mile underground.
So the EPA slams them with an emergency order, blames them, then steadily loses all credibility.....and sez so what, we are still going to beat the company up.

If only we had more conservative Senators. Then McConnell would suddenly mutate into Ronald Reagan as opposed to being a chinless squish.
The "Grand Bargain" was -and will be again - a disaster. We are looking at either a tax increase or massive defense cuts. You can see how these bastards are already positioning - we are just closing loopholes. Then there will be much tongue-clicking at the 'purists' for not accepting things. The phrase "1/2 of 1/3" will again be uttered.
And a lesson will once again be learned and forgotten - "Victory uber alles" does not always result in victory.

I think you meant to write "Grand Jury," Vic.
It's time for indictments, arrests and trials. And impeachment.
How much more shit do we have to swallow from the stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure and his co-conspirators? Having a bunch of Ed Morrissey-style "in fairness..." squishes among the Congressional Repubs doesn't help, either.

Good morning Gabriel.
Department of Homeland Security releases new "See Something, Say Something" PSA.
The "suspicious" bad guys this time? Well-dressed middle-class white people! Hey, at least we are well-dressed this time!
The "johnny-on-the-spot" heroic public servants? All black of course!

Mornin' Morons. This is the Pre-DOOM! Thread, is it not?
Since I'm too lazy to make a tinylinkthingy this early, just click on my name for my contribution to the mornings' festivities.
I'm off. And I'm also going to work, too.

I don't think a House sub-committee can empanel a "grand jury". Their power to conduct an "investigation" and issue subpoenas is also very dubious but upheld.

Naw, I usually poll at the end of the month. On the other hand, I'm sorely tempted to put up a hypothetical Palin/Christie/Ryan/Perry poll just to see where it shakes out.

Well done post at your site. Now for the good news -- just 14.5 months to go until Election Day.
Meanwhile, with the Super Committee it looks more and more like the Pubs managed to fuck up gridlock..........sigh. Our only real tool, pissed away for a few cheap baubles.

Where do you think it will shake out? Some meaningless results and a thread full of Palin whack jobs declaring Christie/Ryan/Perry plan on raising taxes, doubling the deficit and killing puppies.

In addition to expected job losses, Meads said costs for meeting these new regulations would be split between local governments, small businesses and industry.
In a letter to Obama urging him to stop these regulations, a coalition between NAM and 35 state-level manufacturing associations cites a Manufacturers Alliance study that estimates the EPAÂ’s new ozone regulations would eliminate 7.3 million jobs by 2020.
There's that laser like focus on jobs......killing 7.3 million of them for no appreciable gain in air quality. They are attacking relentlessly on all fronts.

TV morning show running continuous loop of Christine Odonnel walking off some fag smoking guys show. Commentators all over this earth shattering news. The same ones who never noticed Dick Durbin having a reporter forcibly removed for asking a downgrade question last week.

The worst part is that I don't think the 3rd party route is viable as the repubs have pretty much run out the clock. Worse yet, I don't think this country will be recognizable in 2013 unless there is a landslide redistribution of ethics in government.

Have I mentioned in the last 5 minutes that I was on Nixon's enemies list? I think that's the reason I'm here. Satan really loves torturing Ted Kennedy; his father Joe sometimes joins in telling him that he's even dumber than the daughter he had half her brain cut out.

I'd suggest a poll that enables one to select their #1 and their #2 choice.

So Holder has promoted the guys who ran F&F to keep them quiet while requesting documents he already has to better facilitate the cover up?
I remember when the media would have been all over that. Good times.
Posted by: Beagle at August 18, 2011 05:56 AM (sOtz/)
That would be great. (Actually, I'd require it. Each of us should be prepared for the possibility that our favorite person drops out or doesn't run.)
It would be nice to see the results of the last poll displayed over time. The numbers (percentages) were steady for several hours (iirc, until early afternoon), then they became skewed. I'd sincerely like to see what the regular readership of HQ think/thought, which I think would be more accurately reflected in the sample pre-Instalanche.
What is the sampling period? (Does the poll ever close?)

@Funk - I agree. I started noticing links to Jones at Ace, Hot Air, and Drudge a few months ago and it's troubled me. Of course, a lot of time the info is good, but ffs, there's a YouTube vid of the guy broadcasting that the Russians were invading in 1999.

"Konichiwa bitches. Are you looking for the most kick-ass fucking roommate that ever lived? If so, look no further. You fucking found him. I'm a 25-year-old professional marketing agent with experience at bad-ass companies like AOL and FORBES FUCKING MAGAZINE. That's right! What you know about experience? I graduated from Auburn University in Alabama, and moved to NYC at the ripe, tender age of 22. After deciding that New York was a stinky shit-hole, I moved back to Alabama to cultivate more professional experience. Why? So I can make millions of dollars and not have to post shit like this on Craigslist."

First...
Apple makes more money from selling 1 computer than HP does selling 7.
Second...
HP is getting out of the PC/hardware bidness.
I hate Apple.
They embody all that their users whine about in a "evil greedy corporation", and yet somehow Bill Gates is still the bad guy.

Blatant use of federal power to attack "enemies"
We’ll teach you to downgrade our worthless T-Bills you filthy scum. We’ll sick Holder on you. FDR used the IRS, the stuttering cluster fuck of a miserable failure uses any regulatory agency available and the corrupt DOJ. And one of the reasons Nixon was to be impeached was his “enemies list”.
