And then they try an old type of gotcha on Perry
He committed a sin by recommending a flat tax in his book! Lets get him to make some controversial statements! You see, to a communist nothing could be more controversial than a call to get rid of the progressive income tax.
Presidential hopeful Perry retreats again from statements made in his bookSnipÂ….
But a Perry spokesman conceded Monday that dramatic income tax reform was likely a non-starter, according to the Washington Post. The campaign declined to reaffirm support for the repeal of the 16th amendment or the passage of a flat or national sales tax, despite continuing to assert that the current tax code is "onerous, complex, and confusing".
So, they think there is no political support for it now. That is a “retreat” from his support of a flat tax. You sorry SOBs do not know what the meaning of that word is. And I thought they taught English in Journaljism school. I guess being taught a subject doesn’t overcome stupid.
Morons, expect to see even more of this after Labor Day. And BTW, they did a hit piece on Bachman as well. So they left none of the top tier candidates alone. They pushed Romney and they hit the other two leading candidates who are more conservative.

Daily Caller's poll now shows Perry in commanding lead after bouncing Bachmann
Likewise new PPP poll shows Perry beating out Bachmann in Iowa and double digits over Romney nationally.
This one we will have to watch.

Click on my name for my little contribution, too. It ain't much, but it's early and I can only summon so much outrage on such short notice.
Oh, and today is Gabe's birthday? Congrats! Garcón, your very best 55-gallon drum of Valu-Rite to that table. And some straws.

Since the 2008 campaign didn't work out so well, I'm not sure why this "growing chorus" aka Cuntsman fans are thinking a change is a bad thing. Time to break out the corn sombrero since nothing says "effervescent" like that stylish chapeau.

If he couldn't beat the McCain-Huckabee brain trust, how's he going to defeat Obama?

It sounds like Gabe took his birthday off and let a spambot write the headline blurb. Happy birthday!

7 Romney/Huntsman 2012!
I think there's something in the Constitution that says the candidates can't both be my cousins. Romney and Huntsman are. FML.

Here in MI, a shitty poll(256 people) +- 6% has The Mitt up over Perry 30-17, although they had 6 others in the poll(including Palin) as well, and 15% were undecided. Headline reads Romney leads comfortably over Perry

13Here's the thing about Romney(whom I will support if he gets the nomination):

One word - Open Primaries
McCain had strong dem support in the primaries, as will the most liberal GOP candidate in this primary. And guess what, the GOP is all in for open primaries again.

Also, that column is more anecdotal evidence that New Yorkers can bring themselves to support another Texan.

Paste from a pay wall:
Ever wonder how the least acceptable GOP candidate, the biggest Rino, the one we never imagined would snare the nomination last time around - John McCain - won all those primaries?
He did it via the most masochistic political idiocy you could come up with: open primaries. The GOP is not called the Stupid Party for nothing.
An open primary is one in which any registered voter can participate, from any party or no party at all. In 2008, massive numbers of Dems voted in open Pub primaries and handed the nomination to McCain.
You'd think that the RNC would have corrected this, but of course not. Thus there are 17 - 17!! - open primaries for the Pubs next year, unless pressure can be brought to bear to change the party rules and soon.
Those states are: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin, plus Hawaii, Minnesota and North Dakotawith open caucus primaries.
Just as they did in 2008, Dems will flock to these to vote for the weakest Pub candidate whom Zero is most likely to beat. Just as in 2008, they intend to choose Zero's 2012 opponent, not Republicans.
If you live in one of the states above, consider demanding your state Pub committee to revert to a closed primary wherein only registered Republicans may vote. We cannot let Dems choose for us.

Few days ago, Rasmussen had Palin down by 17 points versus Obama.
If Palin is more toxic to the populace at large than Ron Paul, I declare that the Dhimmocrats have won, and we should all go home and wait for the car to go over the cliff.

He did it by effectively attacking the front runner who folded up like a cheap suit and was out of the running in days. It's easy to win an unopposed primary.

Hiding in an undisclosed location until you are seen as irrelevant was Rudi's strategy in 2008. Worked like gangbusters for him. Nice strategy, Mitt. You found the only campaign more impotent than yours in 2008 and copied it.

The SOBs at The Hill couldn't get anymore obvious in picking our candidate
First the headline
Romney's campaign strategy comes under fire from the GOPSo who is “the GOP”, is it Karl Rove, the Chairman of the GOP, or some other high mukkity muck? Is the RNC or the RNCC? No, its……
A growing chorus of Republicans are questioning the wisdom of Mitt Romney's campaign strategy of maintaining a lower profile and being less effervescent than the former Massachusetts governor had been in his 2008 campaign.
Ah another generic unknown group. This one known as a “growing chorus”. So what has Romney’s “lack of fire in the belly” (to quote another old media meme) done?
Romney's effort to set a more lax pace in launching the Republican presidential cycle, and his deliberate game plan of picking and choosing his public availabilities, left the door open to other Republicans — namely, Texas Gov. Rick Perry — to enter the race and wage a credible challenge to Romney.
Why it has done the most horrible thing in the world! It has allowed a much more conservative (and male) candidate to enter the race. Gee, even though the libtard media loves him, had anointed him as the candidate of MFM choice this year, and it WAS his turn this cycle a “credible challenge” has arisen.
How about this you jackasses, a growing chorus during the off years watched this slimy bastard campaign since 2008 and said McCain with good hair and we donÂ’t need that again.
