Also just in to the AoSHQ News Desk, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake was just reported in the Aleutian Islands. Rumors that it was caused by Palin jumping into the race are unconfirmed at this time.

Update 2: Boom! Zero jobs created in August. Headline unemployment remains 9.1%. July employment revised down by 32K jobs to 85K. Unexpectedly!!11!

A common mistake. Lots of people misinterpret mere cleverness, or being a coniving plotter/trickster, with being smart. Also, even if B.O.'s brain is particularly powerful, whatever intelligence it gives him is more than offset by his woeful lack of that which is far more useful - wisdom. Metaphorically speaking, Obie's a weasel, not an owl.
You can always find smart people to carry out tasks (if you look hard enough). But a person with the wisdom to properly deploy that intelligence, that computational power, is a rare thing.

So I posted this yesterday night on the ONT, but I had to leave. Our legislature here has, for like the fourth or fifth time since I got here, passed a measure which contains things that supposedly the majority of legislators did not know it possessed. In this case it's this stupid "Zion Curtain" rule about alcohol.
We have a part-time leg, which sounds all find and dandy but apparently our guys and gals can't get their sh1t together. The worst case was a budget that got passed that cut things that they had no intention of cutting. Our governor is good here, but I'm really having my doubts about the legislators. They seem like a mix of idiots and opportunists.
