SCoaMF is toast.

Yeah. Brit Hume called the SCOAMF's "jobs bill" a political stunt last night, which is what it is. The problem is, this administration has already run out of ideas for getting the economy going again, assuming of course that it ever was interested in that goal. The other problem, related to the first one, is that's it's been tried before.

And the public knows it.

SCOAMF is toast.

Ed Rollins shows why he is the bestest campaign manager in the country

Rep. Michele BachmannÂ’s (R-Minn.) former campaign manager, Ed Rollins, said that the three-term lawmaker doesnÂ’t have the resources to extend her presidential campaign beyond the Iowa caucuses.

Trash talk your former boss while she is still running. Of course, she is already trashing herself but he doesn't mention that.

Never fear though, The Hill will

RollinsÂ’s pessimistic comments about Bachmann come just a few days after he criticized the Minnesota Republican for linking mental retardation to an HPV vaccine Perry mandated.

Never mind that it has nothing to do with the story.

34 If Perry falters, is there another ‘anti-Romney’ in the GOP field?

I am not sure what to make of this POS article. Is it intended to bash Perry or Romney? The title seems to indicate that Perry is done, which he is not. The article though says that if Romney is the guy it s a sure win for Obama.

#29 Given Ronnie Earle's ire, that grit proved the motivation to accomplish the downfall of The Hammer. Obama/Holder think to smear Perry with public opinion's guilt by memory association. That Southern States still suffer from Carpetbagger Congressional oversight impositions regarding local rights to govern districting/voting perpetuates opportunism for the federal beast.

44 Rich Galen said when it happened that likely the reason why Rollins left the campaign was a disagreement between them over who knew how to run the campaign. I suspect after Iowa Bachmann was sold on her own personal brand being the reason she won not a skilled campaign. I am not thrilled with Rollins but he has run national campaigns before and Bachmann hasnt. When Rollins first left he said he would remain an integral part of the campaign but seems that the relationship is now much worse.

I agree that criminal prosecution might lead to a backlash from true blue O supporters, but it does seem that there ought to be a way to lay out the details of the various scandals in a convincing manner and keep hammering home the obvious level of corruption and cronyism in this administration.  The MFM filter would blunt this to a large extent, but still the information would be powerful in its own right

This.

The current administration proves that this is not the "nation of laws" people claim it is, nor do we have rule of law.  We simply have power and position, and upon those things all else is built.  The courts and executive prove every day that the state has become illegitimate.  The only reason regular folk like us have to respect the law is that those with more power than us may, capriciously, decide to enforce that law and punish us when it suits them.

47 #38 - Someone should figure out how much the evil JFK cost the government with his tax cuts. Use static scoring - assume everyone still reported the same income, but paid taxes at the old 90% rate. I'll bet it would run into the hundreds of trillions.

48 “More likely, if Perry is really faltering (which is a knee-jerk analysis, from only two debates where he was in Piñata position), would be the entrance of another anti-Romney candidate, but to be a realistic and sustainable challenge, s/he would have to have Perry’s assets (political skills/grit, record, money, organization, staff).” Mary Matalin added that “more likely than a reemergence of one of the current contenders would be a Romney rally and close.”

Expecting any candidate to steamroll into the White House without taking bruises is unrealistic, yet what people are obsessing to have. Immediate success without trials isn't life.

As likely as a Romney rally and close is a Perry rally to close. Just because the media is trumping Romney's veracity doesn't sell Romney to anti-Romney Republican voters. And for Romney to count on Democrat cross-over votes for a victory isn't realistic, particularly since the devoted Hillary puma faction of activists didn't insure McCain's victory.

I suppose Matalin was referencing Palin as another anti-Romney candidate with assets comparable to Perry's PAC campaign organization. She's had the time to organize, but hasn't proven that she is organized. Using her family as her excuse for waiting to decide isn't winning public support, though you've got to admit that those kids have already paid more than their dues to the campaign god and do "deserve" to be protected from the bloodthirsty media and public. If Palin is going to run, she'd use Rick's fall from grace as her grand entrance. If Palin waits until Rick "proves" himself in campaign battle, she's not running.

As I recall, the American revolutionaries were not without sympathizers in England at the time of the original tea party.  (Sorry - can't remember the reference - it might have been one of Niall F.'s books.)  After all - the people of the American colonies were not to be compared to conquered aboriginals.  They were still, at least notionally, Englishmen.  Many of their complaints were so plainly valid that it was hard to make an honest case against them.

So it is today as well.  The Euros are horrifically overtaxed, even worse than us.  It seems only natural to me that they would feel some solidarity, regardless of past national disagreements.

She BOUGHT that win and she STILL almost fucked that up. Fully a third of the people she paid $30 a piece to vote for her went and voted for Ronulus Prime. She almost bought HIM the "win." Dummy.

Well, in part this is old hat - American richies have been do-gooders for a long time.  The only difference is that nowadays they want to do-good with other people's money - not their own.

I wouldn't call the old ones (ala Dale Carnegie) "do-gooders."  They were philanthropists in the true sense of the word (mostly).  And the new ones aren't trying to do good, they're trying to stifle the competition.

If anyone can get rich, then their relative wealth (and, therefore, relative power and, erm, relevance) are diminished.  Their pride (mostly) can't handle that.  Thus the lie by implication that a higher marginal tax rate on "income" (read: salary) would in any way affect Warren Buffet or Bill Gates.

LOL, nowhere in their own literature does it mention the capital cost and the longevity.  That should tell you something there.

Wiki says the 100KW units cost 700K to 800k each and operating costs using NG in CA run 14 cents/KW. CA has lots of NG and this would be more elsewhere.  Also, they say this number is very optomistic. They give a ten year operating lifetime which means the capital cost alone is very high.

Also, factor in the "green" wiki factor. IOW

On the energy front, there is one new-ish solar tech I've been reading about that's got some potential to push it up to an economically viable level, if the write ups are true.  I can't get the linky-thing to work, but if you Bing nextbigfuture and 'photon enhanced thermionic emission' it should pull up an article.

This approach overcomes the loss of efficiency at elevated temps that is a bane of the current systems, and uses cheap materials.

If this were combined with one of the newer hydrolysis fuel cells, like maybe those being developed by Fronius, sunny climes might find solar useful enough to do something with. That would be nice.

I hope to retire to a somewhat under-developed region, where the power (at least currently) is only on about 1/2 the day (but the sun shine is plentiful most days). A supplemental solar system that would provide useful amounts of power would be a great boon in such a place.

The higher the tax rates go, the more such businesses are looking to sell before the founding patriarch dies.   Warren Buffett asking for higher tax rates is nothing more than an investmant banker asking the government to grease his business and make his job a little easier. If his motives were nearly as high minded as he would like you to believe, he would have only the need to write a larger check when he pays his own taxes and could keep his mouth shut when he did it.

This is an assumption that the NRC has NEVER licensed. And even at that the costs are still high compared to others. Small generation units almost never have a low cost per KW generated except in the case of hydro (which the eco-tards have essentially shut down as well.)

There is a reason most of the new construction going on now is for Westinghouse AP1000 units.

134 A teacher took sick leave with TB the day before school started at Ennis High, a SE Dallas suburb school. It has a student enrollment of 1,580. In all, 235 people at the high school were tested last week (235 sampler or selected for showing outward signs?) of which 80 (students, teachers and staff) tested positive for exposure to tuberculosis, a larger number than the school district had expected. Those who tested positive are now being told to get chest X-rays at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. A positive skin test means that a person has been exposed to the disease; they picked up a tiny bit of the bacteria that has caused their body to react to the skin test. In those persons you can kill the bacteria by giving a single medication for nine months. (A single medication for nine months: A single dose or a single refillable prescription? Or only effective for 9 months?)

Diagnosis relies on radiology (commonly chest X-rays), a tuberculin skin test, blood tests, as well as microscopic examination and microbiological culture of bodily fluids. Treatment is difficult and requires long courses of multiple antibiotics. Social contacts are also screened and treated if necessary. Antibiotic resistance is a growing problem in (extensively) multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis. Prevention relies on screening programs and vaccination, usually with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine. One third of the world's population is thought to be infected with M. tuberculosis, and new infections occur at a rate of about one per second.

Michael Savage has reiterated the point that America imports the re-emergence of highly contagious publicly transmitted diseases through illegal aliens who were not vaccinated before entering our country. TB vaccine is one of the oldest, evidently mutating along with the demand.

"I was shocked," said a high school junior, sixteen-year-old Shabrekia Richardson. "I actually started crying. I just thought, 'I'm in a school.' I never thought in a school I could get something like this." Crying because in public she was exposed to bacteria? Where then, at church or while shopping? If she's college bound, it's best to wake up now to practicing good hygiene before catching meningitis. Did she get her TB vaccination previously? If you've been vaccinated against TB, would it appear in a skin test the same as "being exposed"? What excuse does a teacher have for not having been vaccinated for TB before certification or getting hired? Was the infected Dallas suburb teacher (unnamed) one of the illegal aliens teaching in that region using a stolen Social Security Number provided by the school district?
