Recall that I linked an article that said the fed was sending $500B to Euro banks last week to help with their “dollar liquidity”. Now the IMF is wanting a bailout to help with that same issue. (pssst its another term for broke and bankrupt).
And just so you know what this is for, it is bailing out Euro Bank investors, Euro Unions, and European gov bond holders. Guess where the IMF gets its funding? Guess something else, countries can demand bailouts from the IMF and the IMF must pay. These loans do not even show up on our budget either.
This is another POS budget item that must go. This 1944 treaty institution no longer serves the function it was designed for and the U.S. tax payer should not have to foot the bill for it.

Fight over the CR is more than arguments over trivial amounts
If you look at the liberal Democrat PR rags you will find a lot of remarks about how the Republicans (and evil Tea party) want to shut down the government over trivial amounts of money (what’s a few billion). Never mind that the Democrats in the House voted against it in mass because it cut their “green” spending scam.
This article from Heritage explains why this “trivial” amount of cuts is not “trivial”. It is keeping the shitty deal that crying Boner and McConnell made to limit the growth in spending. If they can not even keep spending within the guidelines in the deal they was shit to begin with then there is no damn hope.
We would be far better off to shut down, turn off the lights, and send everyone of those assholes home to get some new instruction from the voters.

Regarding that torched Ugandan village, serveral thoughts:
1. I must confess I've been completely wrong. Global warming is a grave threat, indeed. It apparently can burn people alive in their villages.
2. Flamethrowers are like gigantic aerosol cans you know. The greenies who commissioned this could get fined.
3. This has got to be the most depressing Lion King Sequel EVER!

Of course, we're not allowed to do this:
Chevron to start work on huge Australia LNG hub
US energy giant Chevron on Monday said it would sink Aus$29 billion into the immediate construction of its massive Wheatstone gas project in Australia, targeting production in 2016.
Chevron got official government approval last week for the liquefied natural gas project (LNG) off western Australia's mineral-rich Pilbara region, under strict environmental protection.
One of Australia's largest resources projects, Wheatstone will include two LNG processing trains, a domestic gas plant and offshore drilling infrastructure.
Chevron Australia managing director Roy Krzywosinski said construction would start immediately, with the foundation phase to cost some Aus$29 billion (US$27.9 billion).
Up to 6,500 jobs will be created with first delivery slated for 2016.
Wheatstone will generate government revenue of about Aus$20 billion, he added, following an official signing ceremony for the project, which has a capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per year.

Obama's America can't afford new jobs or sources of revenue.

The NLRB says no. However, if I am not mistaken historically the courts have said yes they can. In addition, in a “right to work State” employers can fire employees at will for any reason that does not violate State or federal discrimination law.

The cycle of knee-jerk reactions -- white guilt, the fight against "oppression," "fairness," the all-around Taking it to the Man attitude -- is impossible to break if you're a liberal.

BigGovernment had an article up this weekend that kind of floored me. Unions are apparently allowed to do things like shoot transformers or blow up substations as legitimate union activity.....read the whole damn thing but here is a quoted quote:
In 1946 Congress passed the Hobbs Act, aimed at a wide spectrum of union violence. Among other things, it defined criminal extortion as “the obtaining of property . . . by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence or fear [emphasis added].” In using the word “wrongful,” Kendrick says, “Congress left a narrow opening through which the U.S. Supreme Court would push a bulldozer in 1973.” In its decision in United States v. Enmons, the Court upheld a lower court ruling that three electrical union members indicted for sabotaging a substation and other violence had done nothing illegal because they were pursuing “legitimate” union objectives.

I had seen that once before and investigated it. That ruling is absolute shit, but it is also very narrow in scope. It ruled that the union could not be prosecuted for extortion under the Hobbs Act. But, they are still subject to other State, Federal, and local criminal laws (and civil suit) for destruction of private and public property.

Morning, all! I hope you all had enjoyable weekends. I see from the sidebar that our SCOAMFOTUS has been sticking his foot in his mouth again. Does his little Freudian slip imply that he doesn't think Jews are billionaires? Doesn't that go against the whole worldview of the anti-semitic left?
Anyway, in less irritating news.
This is actually fairly old news (a week, to be specific), but the incumbent governor here in NH - John Lynch, a democrat - has announced that he's not going to seek reelection. He's been in the Governor's office since 2005, but I think the Republican sweep that took over the legislature in 2010 has made it more and more difficult for him to accomplish anything gubernatorial, since most of his vetoes just get overturned in the General Court. Overall he hasn't been a bad governor. I'd say his time under the Dome would be best classified as "chewing gum," in that it's been fairly bland and utilitarian, but with a few hits of flavor. Not necessarily good flavor -- he lost a lot of support when he signed the gay marriage bill -- but still flavor.
What does this mean? It means there is a very, very good chance that NH will have a Republican governor after the next general election. Ovide Lamontagne, who ran against Kelly Ayotte for the Senate candidacy in 2010, has already tossed his hat in the ring. He's a strong conservative and very well-known here in NH. I'd say he's the frontrunner right now, and barring any unforeseen occurrences it's quite likely he'll be our next governor. Since governor's are crucial to accomplishing Republican goals -- see Walker, Scott and Christie, Chris -- adding one more to the pool, especially here in blue as blue New England, will be a boon.

Yeah, my reaction to one of the anti-Perry/pro-Romney things I read today (might have been Morrissey's) in which it was said Perry need to make the positive case for himself and not hit Romney was "whey will Romney make the positive case for Romney?"
I am a really wondering why we're supposed to be so overwhelmed by the resume of a guy who got pretty much everything he ever did based on connections and who's only won one election and served only one term in which one of the biggest anti-liberty programs this country has ever seen came to fruition.
Romney is approaching Palin-level disappointment for me. I went from voting for him in CA's primary to defending him against what I thought were unfair attacks (about his nasty streak) to being sick to my stomach at the prospect of voting for him.

Didn't say everything, did I? He won one election. Other than that, yeah based on what I have learned about LDS culture at the upper echelons, my money is on Mitt having gotten most of his opportunities through connections. It's not a secret -- everyone (LDS) here in Utah admits that that's the case. It's kind of a running joke, actually.
But more than that, it's what he did with his opportunities. He's had several years to do something to try to undo the disaster of government health care and he's done squat about it. Even Sarah Palin has done more with her time out of office.

The "Irvine 11" found guilty of disrupting a speech by Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren—told those gathered at the Islamic Institute of Orange County of their activism and expressed gratitude for community support. At one point, the nine men stood to applause.
On Friday, a jury found the 10 Muslim students guilty after deliberating for two days. A judge sentenced the men to community service, probation time and fines. Charges against an 11th defendant will be dropped pending completion of community service.
The students were in support of the Palestinian cause, and shouted phrases such as "You sir, are an accomplice to genocide," at Oren during the event, held at UC Irvine.
"I assure you that this case is going to affect my children, your children and generations to come," said Samer Soubra, vice chair of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, a co-sponsor of the event.
Rev. Sarah Halverson of Fairview Community Church in Costa Mesa thanked the students for their "bravery," but said as a Christian, she is outraged by the convictions. "Folks, we know that Islamophobia is alive and well in Orange County," she said.
Besides the students, three of their lawyers and community leaders spoke. The event coincided with customary evening prayers. Shortly after the event began, after sunset and following the panel, people went into a nearby room to pray, kneeling on the floor.
Mohamed Abdelgany, said the most "heart touching" thing about the case has been how it has brought the Muslim community together.
A community united in Jew hate. It does make you tear up a little, doesn't it?
