It's time we start thinking a little bit like liberals in this regard, they make politically motivated spending decisions with their money (i.e., refusing to shop at Walmart, etc.)
They go way overboard and turn every spending decision into a political decision, but it doesn't hurt for us to do so for the important items that truly matter, like not rewarding the big bank bailouts with our money.
I refuse to do business with Citibank, Chase, BOA, Wells Fargo, etc., etc.
The only exception is my HSA account with Chase, over which I have no control. If it were up to me I'd move it in a heartbeat.
I also refuse to buy Chevy, GM, Chrysler, etc.
I don't turn the purchase of every apple into an angst-filled decision-making paralysis but for the big things we should definitely vote with our wallets.

I'm sure they already have. I use my 'debit' card as a credit card more and more....it's the only way to get the reward points. I had enough recently to buy a 32" LCD TV....even the shipping was free. ;o)

70 Thanks Vic. It my 50 year old visit. I had one a few years ago, time again. My grandad had colon cancer plus all the drugs I take for MS the docs like to keep an eye on me. First one wasn't "clear" enough. It happens with MS and Parkinson's patients quite a bit. The prep is disgusting but better than it used to be.

I don't like some of his social positions and the Global Warming thing (though I think he is sane enough to make sure that whatever "climate change" regulations he enacted wouldn't simply blow up our economy). Left over money from political donations must either be spent on campaign debts, donated to other politicians for campaigns (what most of them do), or donated to charity. (I think they can also give it back to the donors but that is virtually impossible)

People like that can make good advisors, or researchers, but they often suck as decision makers. Yeah, I will. Even though I hate his specialty, he is my favorite doctor. He's 81 years old, sharp as a tack, PERSONALLY calls you back if you call the office and leave a message....and is a conservative to boot. He's worked on every asshole in this family for one reason or another.

Re banks, I always recommend USAA. Their web site seems to say anyone can get a checking account, even without military service. (Can't get insurance from them without you, your spouse etc. having served)

He IS old; I was listening to schtick 30 years ago as my Dad drove me to college. He was actually better in those days, with some genuinely funny parodies (at least I thought they were funny, when I was still a teen). Even then, though, he had this annoying habit of laughing at his own crap, along with whoever else was on with him, and complaining about whatever annoyed HIM, for whatever reason.. as though anyone else gave a crap. Now that is pretty much ALL he does. Just about unlistenable.

123 MamaAJ, July was the hottest we have had since I started keeping records but then Aug came and it was normal. September is running 5Â°F lower than the previous Sep. So overall we have had a cooler Summer than last year event though July was hot.

In addition Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting a mild snowy Winter for us.

The funny thing about how freaking hot it was this summer is that it wasn't very humid. (which means 20-30 % humidity instead of 60% or more) We've had to get used to the humidity again this month.

I hope that in the next couple months we all stop flinching at the words "summer" or "hot weather".

At soccer, the coaches are finding that most of the boys are out of shape because we all hid indoors and didn't exercise much for the last few months.

The one and only experience I had with BOA is when my daughter wanted to cash a very small paycheck she had from the college she attends. She had a part time job at the college. The check was drawn on the college's BOA account but they refused to cash it because she didn't have an account there. I left there calling them every name in the book.

My advice to Morons anticipating the ordeal--schedule for a morning exam if at all possible. Most of the time you would be starving you're asleep (just remember to have a sturdy pillow cover so you don't eat it in your dreams). Jello is not food, and all the good flavors are forbidden--but you can get unflavored gelatin, margarita mix, and tequila. I'm sure you know what to do from there. Saved my life...
