— Ace I actually didn't know this was going on.
But it's been going on all day. A cyberthon for care packages for the troops.
S.E. Cupp is on now. She seems to be bartering pictures and stuff for donations.
I don't know how they don't hit $500,000.
Now Breitbart is up.
Goal Exceeded! $507,000!

I mentioned earlier my company is privileged to have a close relationship with Ft. Hood, and we "adopt" a unit each year. Having spoken with soldiers from the 1/7 CAV, and the 3rd ACR, I can tell you the stuff in these care packages are things they really really appreciate.

Once you have placed the 5 grand in an escrow account, you may have your people contact my people to begin negotiations.

On behalf of my wife and son (both active duty; son currently in A-stan) and myself (disabled vet; retired), I thank you all. Unless you have served, you simply cannot know what it means to feel like you're backed by your People. It's part of the 'psychological paycheck' that military people need to make up for the short pay and long hours.
So, thank you, Moron Nation; it is without price, and it is just as vital as JP-4 or radios to the people we send to do the hard and dangerous things for the rest of us.

No, thank you & your wife and son. What little we give can never compare to the sacrifices you make on our behalf.
God Bless you all.

He got back to the FOB two days ago, and just picked up the MASSIVE box that we sent to him and his squad, full of all kinds of stuff. He's checked in safe, so me, Mom, and his beautiful wife are all breathing, eating and sleeping again. And not drinking as much.
But he's got a long stretch to go. He'll be there until next April, even though he could've come home in November, because his time would have been up. But (and I ask you: is this a fine man I've raised, or WHAT?) he said he wanted to do the full year, because he couldn't stand the thought of getting on a chopper while his guys were still there.
So, long post, but my heart is a bit full, and I am gratified by all of your support and good wishes for him and my wife and all the others that stand on the wall all around the world tonight.

Been doing that with Soldier's Angels and TBI groups for years in CO during these conflicts. Sadly, lately, it has been more on the "moral support" side the last couple of months. The dude in the WH seems to be doing everyting he can to prevent me from working and providing real support like I did before.
Alas, I will be making a choice this week on which new project to choose for my next contract. All logic points to a several in TX. Probably be there in a week or so. The girlfriend is from there so there's that.
