Ugh: Wisconsin Judicial Elections Today
— Ace

Results will be here.

If you haven't voted yet, what are you waiting for?

Nearly all the voting booths were occupied with Wauwatosa voters on Tuesday just before noon at Madison Elementary School, 9925 W. Glendale Ave. The site covers Districts 23 and 24 for Wauwatosa. Poll staff said that more than 600 voters had cast their ballots, which was an unusually high number for the time of day.

November 2010, I would have said good for us. High turnout means we're the ones coming to the polls.

Now... I don't think so. I think the unions have turned out.

Thanks to Ben.

More of those here.

And why not do this one?

As everyone said in every Star Wars, I have a bad feeling about this.

Republicans Talking About Re-Passing The Bill: Hey, who told you they were waiting for this election to pass?

Now that I ponder it, I really wish they'd waited until after the election to pass this in the first place.

2 It really doesn't matter what we do. Prosser will lose or enough votes
will be found to make it so.

I say Walker goes the other way and teaches Wisconsins a lesson.

Make the system crash and burn like the end of Fight Club.

3 Yeah, Prosser's going to lose by a pretty large margin.

4 I agree that it doesn't seem bad, but I am hoping that the majority of those rioters peaceful protesters in Madison were bussed in or simply stupid college students with too much time on their hands. Maybe they won't vote too often.

5 I think if it's higher than normal turnout he gets reelected. It mean both sides are engaged.  If it's around normal then he is toast because it's obvious the libs are motivated and most others didn't turn out. as to the unions they always turn out. That's why they have the Dems by the sort hairs.

They didn't want to effect the election. Passing it again would have made turning out for Prosser less critical. This doesn't bode well for Prosser though. They might be rushing to get it done before he's voted out.

went in around 2:00 this afternoon, Was right around #100. Today is advisement day at the college, so no class, although no class means parties last night so it may be a wash. (high turnout = bad for my city. college town/ depressed economically/ have had daily protests by teachers/profs on a near daily basis)

As an interesting side note, I questioned whether the Harsdorf recall petetion guy right outside the door was in violation of the 100ft electioneering ban. They had the regs out already and it was OK, but I must have not been the first to ask.

If you are in WI and haven't goten out yet, do it.

@32: "Why is it I think that were the tables turned and a Democrat governor had the opportunity to fire a mess of workers loyal to Republicans, he would have done so immediately?"

Because Dems are ruthless and aren't booger-eating retards/snivelling cowards when it comes to pretty much anything relating to using brains or balls in connection with advancing the Glorious Socialist Utopia. Hell, the only reason most of us are alive is because they haven't figured out an at least arguably quasi-legal way to have us all exterminated yet.

Fuck, I made the propaganda maps for ace last year. But I also look at reality. The unions mobilized for this. We fucking didn't. We can win "big" victories like November elections yet we botch special elections which prove just as critical. As a voter bloc if we want to counter the unions we have to focus on GOTV. "We have jobs so we are too busy, they don't" is true, but worthless as a fallback. None of us will be employed at the rate these jackasses are driving our nation into the ground. 181 Wauwatosa is pretty conservative - so high turnout there is a good sign. I hope for very high turnouts in Ozaukee, Jefferson, and Waukesha counties to offset the Dane County turnout. The initial returns will look bad because they'll call Milwaukee and Dane counties first, as they always do. The the race will tighten up. I think it will be very close. It might not be called til tomorrow. But I don't believe it's in the bag for the Dems. The media has focused on the angry lefties. 187 Actually, Dane County is often not tallied right away, which worries me.

And Wauwatosa is not as Republican as it once was.  It's more of a swing  district, with a slight GOP advantage.

188 Actually alot of people predicted about what we got.  The difference is that they didn't gargle Obama's balls and tell us it wasn't a wave election.

196 "I know it will swing the State Supreme Court, but I still say they cannot over-turn everything. Walker is not going to cave."

If Sumi can do what she did, then the Supreme Court will have no problem overturning whatever they feel like.  If Prosser loses, there is no spinning just how devastating a defeat that is for Walker.  And if Prosser wins, there is no spinning just how badly the unions took it on the chin.

201 Notice how Greg led off the evening telling us how high turnout was everywhere and that this race would be a real barn burner.

Now, with no new information, he is digging Walker's grave.

That is actually some pretty good trolling, especially compared to the mopes like erg we usually get.  Unless erg is Greg, in which case I salute this particular multiple personality.

Greggie, like most on the left, have an attention span problem, and has forgotten that this was an either-or. Either we reform the civil service, or we fire a fuckload of them.

"See, your unions have fought hard and won... unemployment!"

That's a "win" for the unions, apparently.

Posted by: Merovign, Dark Lord of the Sith at April 05, 2011 04:31 PM (bxiXv)

207 Where did I dig Walker's grave?  I've mentioned the high turnout in Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington counties, which is key to a Prosser win.  What I won't do is understate how disastrous it will be if Kloppenburg wins.

And you cannot appeal to a higher court than the Supreme Court.  So this election will determine if WI gets photo ID and keeps school choice, just to name a few things.

BTW, Dale Schultz gave an interview today and ripped his fellow GOP state senators for "overreaching."  He's the biggest RINO in WI, but if there's waffling going on now with the sinking poll numbers, more dissenters will come out.

Greg, do you remember this?

Because the whole point of this fight is collective bargaining.  Gov Walker could have had those financial concessions.  But he chose this battle (which was the right thing to do) and it backfired on him when he couldn't come up with a good messaging strategy.

Now he's lost public support for the entire budget battle.  And there are 3-4 Senate squishes other than Dale Schultz that will look for a way out.

230 In about 2, 2-1/2 hours, several mysterious dark sedans will leave an undisclosed location and head towards the various vote tabulation centers.  Upon arrival, each car's trunk and backseat will be unloaded of its precious cargo.  Eyeballs will lock onto each other in covert recognition and if one observes very closely, a nearly imperceptible nod of each head may be seen.  Then the same mysterious cars will dissolve into the night, returning to their lairs to await the next election night.

261 Runoff's can't work because it's only 2 candidates. If it was 4 or more candidates doing an obvious split among all of them, it'd be possible. Recounts are going to happen no doubt as well as absentee ballots. Since it's Wisconsin "Hey look we found a ballot box" will occur.
