If you haven't voted yet, what are you waiting for?
Nearly all the voting booths were occupied with Wauwatosa voters on Tuesday just before noon at Madison Elementary School, 9925 W. Glendale Ave. The site covers Districts 23 and 24 for Wauwatosa. Poll staff said that more than 600 voters had cast their ballots, which was an unusually high number for the time of day.
November 2010, I would have said good for us. High turnout means we're the ones coming to the polls.
Now... I don't think so. I think the unions have turned out.

More of those here.
As everyone said in every Star Wars, I have a bad feeling about this.
Republicans Talking About Re-Passing The Bill: Hey, who told you they were waiting for this election to pass?
Now that I ponder it, I really wish they'd waited until after the election to pass this in the first place.

What were they waiting for? To be back in session.
Why the rush? They were about to adjourn the session.

They didn't want to effect the election. Passing it again would have made turning out for Prosser less critical. This doesn't bode well for Prosser though. They might be rushing to get it done before he's voted out.

went in around 2:00 this afternoon, Was right around #100. Today is advisement day at the college, so no class, although no class means parties last night so it may be a wash. (high turnout = bad for my city. college town/ depressed economically/ have had daily protests by teachers/profs on a near daily basis)
As an interesting side note, I questioned whether the Harsdorf recall petetion guy right outside the door was in violation of the 100ft electioneering ban. They had the regs out already and it was OK, but I must have not been the first to ask.

@32: "Why is it I think that were the tables turned and a Democrat governor had the opportunity to fire a mess of workers loyal to Republicans, he would have done so immediately?"
Because Dems are ruthless and aren't booger-eating retards/snivelling cowards when it comes to pretty much anything relating to using brains or balls in connection with advancing the Glorious Socialist Utopia. Hell, the only reason most of us are alive is because they haven't figured out an at least arguably quasi-legal way to have us all exterminated yet.

166 70% turnout expected in Madison. Goodnight
Hi, Paul! Are you Biff's friend? Which one of you is going to wear the dress and fancy spring bonnet tonight?
Posted by: Warden at April 05, 2011 03:49 PM (qBo9h)
Okay, Wisconsin conservatives. Everyone go home. Biff and Paul put down their double dong long enough to type a prediction of guaranteed defeat.
Game over!

Paul, a couple of questions:
Are you fleet of foot?
If so, are you able to tell the difference between a grape juice box and a cherry one?
And if so, are you able to follow rudimentary directions on, say, the level of a kindergartener?
If so, we may have use for you.

Wrong. Politically, it is the end of the world for Walker. He won't be able to pass anything of good substance without it being overturned in the courts. This election is the whole ball of wax for the future of Walker's Governorship.
There is no spinning this. It's either a HUGE victory or a HUGE defeat for the unions and Gov Walker.

If Kloppenburg wins tonight I fear I will fall into a deep and dark depression. All the Tea Party hopes for a new direction for the country will be dashed in a single night.

Hi Greg!
Remember this?
4 Walker has been saying that collective bargaining is costing the state money, so he's boxed himself into a corner. But none of this matters. The fleeing Dems have solidly won the PR war, even according to Rasmussen. They have no reason to come back now. The only question is how long it will take enough GOP state senators to cave.Posted by: Greg at March 03, 2011 06:25 PM (A0Q4i)

Does seem crazy that they didn't wait till after this election, but what do I know.
I'm proud of them for putting up the good fight even if these liberal fascists win this battle.
Just keep kicking them in the head until they don't get up. A couple more curb stomps just to make sure.

If Sumi can do what she did, then the Supreme Court will have no problem overturning whatever they feel like. If Prosser loses, there is no spinning just how devastating a defeat that is for Walker. And if Prosser wins, there is no spinning just how badly the unions took it on the chin.

Greggie, like most on the left, have an attention span problem, and has forgotten that this was an either-or. Either we reform the civil service, or we fire a fuckload of them.
"See, your unions have fought hard and won... unemployment!"
That's a "win" for the unions, apparently.

And you cannot appeal to a higher court than the Supreme Court. So this election will determine if WI gets photo ID and keeps school choice, just to name a few things.

BTW, Dale Schultz gave an interview today and ripped his fellow GOP state senators for "overreaching." He's the biggest RINO in WI, but if there's waffling going on now with the sinking poll numbers, more dissenters will come out.

The (R) after his name. Backing down is what they do.
Posted by: Ray Zelinsky, Auto Parts King at April 05, 2011 04:57 PM (xy9wk)
Greg, do you remember this?
Because the whole point of this fight is collective bargaining. Gov Walker could have had those financial concessions. But he chose this battle (which was the right thing to do) and it backfired on him when he couldn't come up with a good messaging strategy.
Now he's lost public support for the entire budget battle. And there are 3-4 Senate squishes other than Dale Schultz that will look for a way out.
