4 Ace, you know that someone might accidentally click on that, don't you?  Can't that be considered reckless endangerment?

8 The deep profundity of the first two lines of the lyrics were quite enough, thank you.

she looka little like Winnie from The Wonder Years

Posted by: soothie at July 18, 2011 12:50 PM (G/zuv)

10 The whole 'Friday' thing was an orchestrated plan to get her name established.

From here, she cashes in with some more vapid teeny-bopper stuff and in ten-years or so shows her boobies in some skin mag in a 'comeback.'

12 No.

13 It's a nice background sound for a commercial, I guess. But her writer is truly the haiku artist of songwriters. Use some more words!

15 With software possessing rudimentary "enhance and zoomify" capabilities, one could dive into that video monitor again and again. The curse of recursion, as it were.
(Or is it "enhancification and zoomify"? I can never keep straight the terms used for today's technological marvels.)

39 Found this a couple of weeks ago, but here is a guy doing a a great impression of Meat Loaf interpreting "Friday". All it needs is a little more of Jim Steinman's production values and a big voiced female singer like Carla DeVito or Patti Russo to be included on "Bat Out of Hell IV" (if there was to be such an album): http://tinyurl.com/4jyal2j

I'd heard that. Also, snowy day people know when you're freezing your balls off. But you can't really put that in a song.

Posted by: joncelli at July 18, 2011 01:09 PM (RD7QR)

50 She must be black licorice then because she's not at all appealing to me.

Every time I see Fergie, she looks like a different person, the Dr Pepper Cherry person was pretty hot.

51 Re: The Five I don't think it will last beyond the Summer. Beckel was a guest on "Red Eye" last Friday. It was his first appearance and he was hysterically funny, keeping it mostly off politics and on his "colorful" past. Gutfeld lost control of the program several times, and I've never seen the rest of the panel bust up so often, nor hear the crew laugh so much off screen. Keep Beckel off politics, and he's a damn amusing guy!

59 She must be black licorice then because she's not at all appealing to me. Maybe it's because after your gaze travels up what is a pretty decent body, it smashes into Matt Damon's face. And now I challenge you to unsee that.

62 Strange.  Most of the "popular" band names and singers that I hear nowdays, I've never heard of before.  Am I getting old?

Posted by: Soona at July 18, 2011 01:19 PM (rIvOi)

63

Am I getting old?

No.  The "talent" aspect of contemporary music has been cleverely phased out by the record industry.

There's nothing to hear.  Just watch VH-1 for about an hour.

74 Beckel was a guest on "Red Eye" last Friday. It was his first appearance and he was hysterically funny, keeping it mostly off politics and on his "colorful" past.

That's the whole problem with Beckel.  He always turns any conversation away from the issue.  Usually to himself... to the other person, to some other thing.  I'm sick of it.

Seems like if you went into this already sick of Beckel, it only got worse for you.  For others who weren't already sick of Beckel, it seemed funny.

78 OK so in this video there's a chick holding a Les Paul and some douchey looking guy with a Fender bass (though the entire backing track seems to have been produced by a Casio keyboard).  What, they couldn't afford a fake drummer too?

79 Seems like if you went into this already sick of Beckel, it only got worse for you. For others who weren't already sick of Beckel, it seemed funny. I am sick of the Beckel who is on Hannity, but I really enjoyed "Red Eye" Bob. It's pretty much the same reaction I have towards Marc Lamont Hill. When he's arguing with O'Reilly, I can't stand the guy, and he's just so wrong about so many things, yet I look forward to his appearances on "Red Eye", where he's a different, and very amusing guy.
