This reminds me of a reoccuring theme in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. The main character, Dagny(as well as other producers) would force the Looters and Moochers to say their ideas outloud.

The looters and moochers would often making meaningless statements with a wink and a nod. And like the media, it was understood by sympathetic parties what they really meant. A bit off topic, but maybe not too far. I watched a legal drama I liked, The Good Wife, a couple of nights ago. A ballistics expert who happened to be conservative was being sued by a liberal activist attorney for an error in previous conclusions and expert testimony that had sent an African American to jail, probably in error. During the trial the lib lawyer introduced a picture of the ballistics expert at a tea party standing near someone who (naturally) had a sign saying "Go Back To The Jungle". The lawyer grilled the guy on whether he was a tea party member, etc. Although the guy "defended" himself ably, this seemed like cover fire to me to conceal the larger point. The premise they want to establish is that if you belong to a Tea Party, or even attend one; or have any conservative leanings at all, you are therefore a suspicious character by definition. And that you should be presumed to be on the defense for being one of the conservative knuckle draggers.

There is nothing the left would like more than to have it presumed that in court they can ask you if you are a Tea Party member, subscribe to National Review, follow AoSHQ, or even are a Republican. And that if you "confess" to any or all of these, it is considered valid evidence of your racism, bigotry, lack of intelligence, etc.

I was doing some reading on the AFL CIO late last night and it finally dawned on me that these unions are the third-rail of Democrat party politics.  We are literally talking about hundreds of billions of dollars, with millions of members and political leverage like nothing else.  The payroll of the AFL CIO is unbelievable, shocking and I also found it interesting how much of the information i.e. web pages have been redacted and or 'out of order' on the subject of salaries for the top Union officials.

Beck is right... the unions are going to melt-down.  They are unscrupulous and working in sync with progressives in the upper levels to promote a liberal ideology.  It truly is an unholy alliance of sorts.  

When you have a union president i.e. Richard Trumka in constant communicado with the White House every day, something is very, very wrong. 

The unions are being exposed and their leaders are demagoging and whipping up violent sentiment.

The union heads, i.e. Richard Trumka and also the head of Amercia Center for Progress, John Podesta have unclean hands; they are fomenting hatred and a climate of violence and should be held accountable.

What do I say to my union?  SUCK IT.

Just for the record, SB3 particularly targets non-vested State employees (I happen to be one of them).  You become vested in NH State service after you've been a State employee for ten years.  The majority of NH State employees are not vested.  A lot of non-vested employees are in high turnover positions - secretaries, lab techs, what have you - so it makes total sense to attach these reforms to people who haven't been "paying into the system" for that long and who may end up leaving State service before they become vested.  Most of the vested employees I know have upwards of thirty years in State service (and at least 25% of the ones I know are actually useful). 

Side note: If you read the bill and wonder what the hell "Group I" and "Group II" are:  Group II is comprised of firefighters and police officers.  Group I is everyone else in State employment ("employee and teacher").

I watched a good part of the video I posted of the guy making the gay slurs at the camera man and I was struck by how fat they were in the majority.  Yeah there was your occasional skinny one but, for the most part, "fat and happy" seems the norm.  Whereas in the private sector people seem to care about their appearance and their health.  A lot of companies provide a gym for their employees and the employees actually use it and don't just tout it as a perk.
