Violence in the United Kingdom
— rdbrewer

Half a million greedy pigs hit the streets protesting budget cuts.

Between 400,000 and 500,000 teachers, nurses, firefighters, council and NHS workers, other public sector employees, students, pensioners and campaign groups from across the UK marched through central London to a rally where union officials and Labour leader Ed Miliband condemned the "brutal" cuts in jobs and services.

From The Daily Mail:

  • Hooded anarchists throw paint and set off flares on Oxford Street
  • Police targeted with missiles and light bulbs filled with ammonia
  • Windows at The Ritz smashed as masked youths run wild
  • Anti-capitalist smash banks and cash points in city centre rampage
  • Five police officers injured in clashes, one seriously
  • Labour leader Ed Miliband likens protest to anti-apartheid movement

Anarchists today broke away from one of the largest protests Britain has ever seen to bring chaos to the streets of London.

The Ritz hotel and Fortnum & Mason were among the buildings targeted in the capital after groups of rampaging youths intent on spreading havoc left the mass anti-cuts demonstration.

Around 500,000 activists and campaigners descended on London this morning to protest at the Government's drastic cuts programme.

Pathetic.

Added: The press seems to be going out of its way to shield the rhetorical value of the protest from the effects of violence. They're calling it peaceful and saying the violence is being perpetrated by "anarchists" who have broken away. Commenter "iknowtheleft" quips:

Anarchists are protesting government spending cuts? Anarchists?

LOL.

18 O/T:   Gerry Ferraro died.  In Boston of all places since she raised her kids in Forest Hills, Queens, New York.

Was doing a little online window shopping and looking and ran across this, it sort of brought a tear to my eye since I was really feeling that people were forgetting about Japan.

"The IKEA world is deeply concerned about the situation in Japan with regard to its co-workers there, as well as the country at large. To date, IKEA Japan has offered its co-workers in the Kanto area around Tokyo (and their immediate family) the option to temporarily and voluntarily relocate to Kansai, as well as other regions. IKEA will cover all costs.

IKEA is also temporarily relocating all co-workers who have been transferred to Japan by IKEA to Hong Kong, where they will continue to work for IKEA"

23 I was in London a couple of months ago when the "student protesters" were protesting budget cuts.  As an American, to me it seemed like the Brits lightly-armed at best, always polite police force was barely adequate to keep it from getting out of hand.  I would have turned the hoses are those #$%@ers.  The crowd seemed to be about half Continental agitators and professional protesters.  They trashed monuments and spray painted Nelson's Column -- pretty disgusting show.  This protest looks even worse.

Lesson being lefty protesters are moronic scum no matter what country you're in.

There's not much low-hanging fruit on AoS, so to go head-to-head with the liberal brain trust, you must venture forward and spank some fanny.  Here's my post on Mediaite to fuck with the liberals.

Ferraro said, “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color), he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

The liberal intelligentsia, blogosphere, pundits, butt boys, and whining mainstream media moonbats went apoplectic after Ferraro made this comment.

So, Ferraro apologized to those who thought it racially insensitive for her to suggest that Obama wouldn’t be the Democratic front-runner if he were not black. But she then declared: ‘It wasn’t a racist comment. It was a statement of fact’.”

Oh Gerry, you truth telling wonder woman! “It wasn’t a racist comment, it was a statement of fact.” As we revisit her statement, liberal heads will explode because their man-child buffoon in the Oval Office has been exposed as the most incompetent boob ever to occupy the office. Thank you Geraldine Ferraro, and may you rest in peace from all the nonsense generated by the likes of Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Streisand, O’Donnell, and a very long list of other socialist/Marxist that are still trying to figure out how to pick up the turd from the clean end?

42 They are rioting because they know they will get away with it. Every time we have a G-8 conference the same leftists show up to riot and destroy private property.  Some of them get arrested and then immediately turned lose again.

What we need to do is start beating the living shit out of them, throw them in jail and prosecute them for riot and vandalism. And make them do some hard time on a chain gang.

If they do that this shit will cease.

Coming soon to a city near you!!!

I came here hoping for a DOOM post but figured I wouldn't get one Saturday. This'll fill the void nicely though. Thanks. No other news really matters but the DOOM posts. Everything else is just filler until the inevitable.

Here's my DOOM world scenario relevant to the story above.

As to the zombie apocalypse portion of DOOM WORLD, I expect:

-The breakdown of all the major governments that no longer have the dollars to function. With bankruptcy, they lose the ability and authority to govern as the money has dried up.

-This leads to the rise of the smaller, more regional governments. In here, you'll have your productive groups (small urban areas or cities that actually have industries and make things) and your non-productive groups (areas like Detroit where most people are reliant on the government to take care of them.

-The non-productive areas threaten the productive areas for a while until the productive areas are able to build sufficient defences and cut off remaining goods and services. At this point, non-productive members flee their areas, learn to become productive and self-sufficient or get sent packing.

-The non-productive areas get goods and services cut off, go into riot mode, torch everything, continue to go after the well defended productive people and eventually are eliminated.

It's in steps 3 and 4 that Europe saves itself from the Muslims. Unless all of those Muslim no-go zones contain huge tracts of farmland, angry citizens eventually eliminate the Muslim enclaves one by one, either sending them home or killing them off in self defense. I can live with either and will celebrate like a Palestinian on 9/11.

At least that's how I see things in DOOM World.

It's all well and good to throw tables through the windows of banks defended by constables armed with truncheons who don't even really give a shit about what they're defending, but that scenario would change _real_ quick with the presence of a single property owner armed with a fucking rifle on the second floor.

Obama won't speak to the American people about important issues of the day.  He will speak to defend against Sir Edmund Hillary Rodham Clinton's ball-banging effort in Egypt and Libya.  He can't let Hillary have the upper hand, or she may decide to challenge, and that's not acceptable to TheWon!

Today Hillary looks like a cock sporting SecState with low hangers, and he looks like a wussie pussy with a gaping taco.

Look at it this way. There's Anarcho-capitalism where there's little to no gov nosing into business, so that's effectively the Right wing version [and the more traditionally correct, IMO] except without gov there's no stable readily available currency for trade.

This is the Left wing version, so it naturally sidles up to Communism. They view it, like the Right wing Capitalists do, as the Natural Order of Things.

Interesting that he's not going to speak from the Oval Office (but will speak in a military setting). So he doesn't think it's up to the level of other Oval Office addresses and he likes the military audience who won't boo him or get Code Pink protesters infiltrating.

I think that it probably would be deemed permissible for the police to fire on someone who threw a molotov cocktail at them, assuming that they had reason to believe that more might be coming.  That is why I think it is important not just that the law be clarified to make the cops' legal position known, but that literal "rules of engagement" be drafted and announced.  Let these suckers of cock know what is coming; let the citizenry (and future juries) know what is coming; and then shut down the lawsuits against the cops quickly.  I do think that the fear of losing one's job, pension and (possibly) freedom keeps the police from cracking down in situations in which it seems obvious to us that they ought to do so.  These Brit hooligans cannot be mistaken for peaceful protesters.  They wanted to create havoc, destruction, fear and personal injury.  And they wanted immunity from punishment for their actions (thus the face coverings).  Combine those two things and "there oughta be a law" so that society can protect itself.

A note about these "anarchists"

These are not the kind of anarchists we think of with the coherent political philosophy of "leave me alone" but rather anarcho-syndicalists.  How can you tell?  The flags-- they are divided diagonally between red and black, and some of them have the names of their worker's organizations on them.

Anarcho-syndicalists want

1) the means of production under the control of the proletariat

2) each particular industry under it's own direction by a board of directors of that proletariat made up of the workers in that specific industry and

3) the fundamental national political unit to be comprised of these boards of directorships.

Also, it's he due for his bi-annual press conference where he answers 8, prescreened, softball questions and one tough sounding question from Fox or Tapper that was written by the White House staff? Heck, we haven't heard anyone ask, "How is it that you're so consistently awesome? And a follow up, being so awesome must be tiring. How do you manage to have any energy left for your grueling workouts and thankless, 4 hour workdays 3 days each week, especially with only 1 or 2 vacations per month?" since O'Reilly.

247 "Anarchism" was long ago co-opted by communists, and there are but a handful of people live that could claim the mantle of "Anarchy."

"Anarcho-Syndicalism" is a highly-regimented form of Communism with a  misleading name. The "street anarchists" are just malcontents, nihilists, and unpopular communists.

The MBM uses the term out of ignorance or a desire to protect the left from the consequences of their actions.

Why these wreckers aren't arrested by the hundreds and sentenced to hard labor I'll never know, I can only assume the sympathies of public employees play a part (and, of course, the ACLWLU).

There was a claim made, after Katrina, that Gov. Blanco had given orders to the Nat'l Guard to "shoot to kill" the looters. I can't say I actually believe it, nor am I sure that the Guard would listen. But if you google "katrina blanco 'shoot to kill'", you will see the stories. At the very least, it was a crazy, out of control situation and might be instructive.

249 I was in Oxford Circus and Regent Street from about 6-7:30 PM. Not much action there except for a bunch of idiots in the middle of Oxford Circus displaying why white people can't dance. Demonstrators were 98% white...mostly students as I think the pros were down on Piccadilly causing real problems. Violence from only a handful but that's all it takes. Stupid waste of money and I think that the ones arrested should be sentenced to cleaning every last bit of the tons of waste off the streets. With their tongues.

We know, but if we call them "anarchists" we can pretend that they have nothing to do with the "peaceful protests of concerned, repressed, an noble citizens". It makes it seem like 2 majorities are against a handful of evil, dictator-like conservatives who are hell bent on torturing everyone to keep their unearned profits.

As the political turmoil deepened, there were signs that Islamic militants in the remote reaches of the country were seeking to make gains on the situation. Residents and witnesses in the small town of Jaar in the south said suspected al-Qaida militants moved down from an expanse of mountains on Saturday to seize control there a few weeks after police fled, setting up checkpoints and occupying vacant government buildings.

Old people, little kids, the disabled, the truly good...they're always the first to go when society completely breaks down because they are the defenseless and rely on the kindness of strangers to defend them (and we are already seeing how much kindness strangers are willing to give each other!).  Jackals (no matter what their particular stripe) do well -- better than sheepdogs, better even than the wolves sometimes.

Indeed.  Real anarchists would applaud govt spending getting slashed to zero, because that would be the end of government.    Supposed Euro "anarchists" have been a stalking horse for the commies for about 90 years now.

John Muir (the guy who wrote the VW repair books) also wrote a book with a quasi-blueprint for a social structure that was pretty close to anarchy.  It's called the Velvet Monkey Wrench.  It was a good read and I agreed with a lot of what he had to say.  Some of his social idead were decidedly outside the box.

In a lot of countries it really is economics.  Governments all over the world have been buying off the proles for years with bubble inflated tax revenue.  When the bubble popped, they borrowed.  Now they're just about out of credit headroom.  If the world economy doesn't start booming you're going to see a lot more of this.  In the US, too.

People totally underestimate the influence the US has on the world, simply by its very existence. Our current weakness, thanks to President Toonces Hussein O'Mulligan, is encouraging all manner of miscreants to push the envelope in a way they would not have dreamed of with a Reagan or W in the oval office.

Things are going to spiral out of control. American servicemen and women are going to die for no good reason, and whole countries will suffer chaos and violence and destruction, simply because the President of the US is such a feckless swine.
