— Ace Don't have a heart attack yet.
But I do expect to lose.
I think my feelings can best be summed up by the character Meat Loaf, expressing his deep frustrations to the character Gary Busey, in Tennessee Williams' The Celebrity Apprentice 3.
You took my motherf***in' sponges.
Yes, yes you motherf***ing did.
Two interesting facts: Meat Loaf is actually a conservative, and Gary Busey is sexually obsessed with improperly-cooked pork.
No link on that last one; you'll just have to take my word for it. I just get that "vibe."

Yeah, well, if "we" lose it's Wisconsin's problem.
(sorry Wisconsin morons)
It's either higher taxes or public employee layoffs. Let's hope it's the 2nd.

Can someone in WI explain this last sentence to me please?
I know in Ohio you can register to vote and then vote early! How does WI work? Is WI the same? If so, looks like the Dems are up to their old tricks:
The Wisconsin Supreme Court race between incumbent Justice David Prosser and Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg is expected to draw voters looking to use the election into a referendum on the polarizing union-rights law.
Richard Luetschwager, a retired union steelworker from Wausau, said he suspects a lot of people who are not typically interested in voting will head to the polls to make a statement about Gov. Scott Walker.
Luetschwager, 62, voted for Kloppenburg, not only for political reasons, but because he said Walker has no integrity in office and he worries anyone with similar political views may act the same way.
“I think it’s due time we all took special care (to vote) because I certainly don’t agree with what the governor did,” he said. “I think anyone who thinks like he does will rule like him.”
At The Rose Garden, voting site for District Nos. 10 and 11, chief inspector Sheryl Hemp said the site had about 210 voters a littler after 11 a.m. “It’s busier than in February,” she said.
She said there was about two to three times as many new registrants this morning compared to other elections.Posted by: momma at April 05, 2011 05:30 PM (penCf)

Gotta do the big cities last, so they know how many of the fraudulent ballots to bring out.
Not too many, or people might get suspicious. Just enough to win.

1) Go big or go home. The Democrats will call anything you do extreme if it changes the status quo. So there is little reason to moderate your policies at the beginning. Walker only limited some collective bargaining privileges from some public employees. The compromise in what he did offered him no benefit.
So at least start with more then you need - if compromise is necessary, then you have room to fall back.
2) Fight hard. Why didn't the legislature pass every big ticket item on the agenda while the Democrats were out? Why not trick them into coming home and then vote?

Having his head smashed has perversely helped his career. He's just crazy enough to be crazy ... but not so crazy he's in jail or institutionalized or dead. He shows up on time to places.
Most people who can show up on time aren't crazy enough to be entertaining. It's a fine line he's managed to walk for years now.
I guess he made enough money before his brain damage that he can pay people to get him to where he has to be on time.

Informally: Smacking someone with your penis after having sex. Preferably in the face. Simular to several other acts, but this act requires post sex, usually in close to proximity to when the sex occured.

When all is said and done, even if a Republican vistory occurs by a margin of several thousand votes, it will end up being a loss. It'll take about two to three weeks. Challenges, law suits. Uncounted ballots will be discovered in the trunks of cars, broom closets of schools and churches, in subway toilets, in shopping bags left like abandoned infants on the doorsteps of precinct captains, in the ass cracks of morbidly obese union members, etc. No orphan ballot, no matter how tardy, no matter how obviously photocopied, no matter how illegible or feces-encrusted, can be excluded. It's a sacred trust. Expressing the will of 105% of the registered voters depends on a full count.
They steal elections. So, what to do?

Same deal with Newark. My parents got me out of there when I was 11 months old. They saw the writting on the wall. The whole area was nice in the 1950's when my parents were in school, you could walk the streets at night. Now its a total shithole.

If Prosser wins it's part of a national sea change.

Also, if she wins by a few thousand, then i'm not too concerned. I was worried it was going to be a blowout.
Look at it this way, after the rights anger we picked up 6 senate seats and some 63 house seats.
After the lefts anger, and millions of out of state dollars, they're gonna win a state supreme court election by 10-15 thousand votes.
Disappointing, yes, but all is not lost.

Nice little jump there for Prosser, but I see Dane and Milwaukee counties will just wait until the very end to see how many votes they need, and then they will find them in the trunks of their cars as necessary.
It seems like every state has places like that. Here in PA it's Philly.

Not sure about that- this is a blatant attempt by union tugs and Democrats to subvert the legislative process and to corrupt the courts.
I also do not think anyone thought it would be this close, in a traditionally D state with a strong Union Thug constituency. This was a good test in enemy territory.
...and I am sure this is an election the State will regret in the not too distant future.

Gerry, I disagree about the "horrible downer". Yeah, I can spin w/ the best of 'em, but the fact is the union side threw EVERYTHING, sink included at this, while Repubs all over the country said to their team "where are you guys".
And with 90% reporting, Prosser is down by 2,000 VOTES!

I remember during the 2008 elections when Bob Beckel "joked" about how they used to hold the count until they knew how many votes they needed.
I've tried to find the video since then because I don't think it's fucking funny.

1237 170,000+ votes for Dane County and still counting? Jesus, how many total people are in dane county, 300,000?
The total population of Dane County Wisconsin is 488,073 at the last census. I'd estimate (based on Wikipedia) that about 13% of those are under 18.
Doesn't seem out of range to me.

you hit the nail on the head. This is part and parcel for wisconsin politics. Dane county will merely find as many ballots as they need to give Klopper a margin of victory that looks close but in reality is insurmountable even in a recount.

11:33pm: FUCK. A bunch of Dane precincts just reported, with no votes. This likely owes to the various tendrils of the city of Madison that have their own precincts...but no residents. This moves the needle to 3.87%...count me pessimistic.

This scares me. The Madison precincts will go Kloppenburg on the order of 80-20% (or perhaps even more so). It just depends on how many votes there are -- or can be manufactured! -- in each of them.
I will be amazed if Prosser manages to win this. Amazed and thrilled.

JK may still win, and with Dane just about done, I start to wonder for the first time, but if she does win, it will be by a molecular thin skin of her teeth.
After the sheer scale of the union/Dem effort, she may win, but that ain't scarin' nobody.

Either way this ia a win right? The democrats have thrown in everything they have. They've funneled in tens of millions of dollars, the media has gone to bat for the unions the president has been sending in help from washington and they will potentially win aby a thousand votes?
I hate to be the person who looks for a victory in a (potential) loss, but I think this is impressive.
If the vote is within a few hundred then we autmatically lose. I think the Secretary of State is a Dem and he's incharge of voting, no?

You could have a whole thread of things that are immoral and unfair that the dems do all the time that is just accepted cause they are the dems. It's maddening cause the dems remind me of that kid in school that would always cause problems and then blame it on someone else who would then get in trouble so finally no one would bother that kid and he could get away with anything, eventually including his harvard degree.

2.175 Million (51% voter turnout) Wisconsinites voted in the 2010 midterm elections and we should land at about 1.5 Million (34% voter turnout) or so. That is a lot of votes that could have been garnered in our favor if those other 600,000+ would have voted.
With all of the publicity this race got, I feel as though Wisconsin for sure is no longer a blue state, probably purple going on towards the color of Barney Frank's panties.

Or, does it? I agree, the overwhelming question is whether, after being caught grinning like ten times in a row, the traditional forces of the Dem party will try their old big-city gashouse game yet one more time. It has always worked for them, you know.
The possibility exists that a maneuver like that would yield actual widespread gunfire and mayhem more surely than would a showy power-grab involving uniformed forces. That's a scary notion.
OTOH, the guy at the water cooler might say, "Oh yeah, I guess there was somethin about Gore in 2000...you know, it hasn't been on the news for so long, I'd plain forgot about it." You may rely on your own perception of your fellow citizens to make your estimate of what comes next.

Only... the hanging chad ballot was cast by this very judge! And he voted for his opponent because he secretly wanted to retire but was pressured into running officially. But then he learns his opponent's dark secret of being on a special Magnum Force squad of judge vigilantes who poison defense counsel with undercooked pancake batter, leading to an increased risk of salmonella. Now our judge must invalidate his own vote, to keep his judicial vote, to stop the gooey pancake chamber. Rob Schneider has: A Living Constitution. Rated PG-13.

Get Ready for a Recount in Wisconsin · 26 minutes ago
I'm just looking at the AP county by county, which has had some errors tonight, but my best take on Wisconsin is that this might end up a near tie. Could be just 200 vote margin. Prosser is ahead by 1650 or so votes with 97% in. But there are a cluster of precincts out in Democratic Eau Claire and Milwaukee counties, so the Prosser lead will likely close and it is possible Kloppenburg will pull a few hundred votes ahead. There is some Prosser vote still out as well, hopefully a decent amount in GOP leaning Marathon country. Though my guess is not enough to stop Prosser's lead from closing at least a little. Just not sure what parts of Marathon county are out and what the loose Milwaukee precincts are. Best case is Prosser pushes up toward 2000+ votes.
So the Wisconsin battle continues, most likely to a recount. See you on the courthouse steps. Get your bullhorns ready.

If you're in WI consider heading to your local county registrar and ask to watch them count the ballots. They have to let you in by law (Although there are a number of rules you have to follow) & you can check to see if signatures given on election day match to those on record among other things. I've done it myself & its incredibly boring *but* it helps keep the election honest. A lot of the ballot counters are going to be union members so it is paramount we keep them from stealing the election.

I'm actually glad I don't have kids. I was really starting to wonder over the last few years if I made a mistake, but not anymore.

To be fair, all of Jeff B.'s posts properly belong to you. That might take a small part of the sting out of Hotair's defeat.
A tiny, inconsequential, condescending part, sure. But a part, nevertheless. Excelsior!

Take it from a dad. You made a mistake. Not trying to make you feel bad but they are more than worth it.

your math is off, that's only 595 votes and not 1200

Your math is off, but your irony is on. It's 585 votes.

Here's an easy rule for these days: always throw in a few more numbers on the side of DOOM.

"Everything"? Nah, just Jeff B.'s assholish comments. But way to overreact, dumbfuck. No wonder you lost an Empire in the span of a single mewling Jedi's lifetime.

I just checked with the Honey Badger, and he doesn't give a shit what you think either.
It wouldn't even be worth mocking you if you weren't so OCD about other people.
Have fun with that, though.

Hey, how did it feel, losing a galactic Empire to a callow whining brat and some teddy bears, "Dark Lord"?
C'mon, spill the beans. It's a great human interest story.

Even if Wisconsin has to put up with this lefty hag on the bench, the Republican assembly ought to be able to buck up now and re-pass the frickin' bill, if that's what it takes.
