Walking Dead/Hell on Wheels Open Thread[Ben]
— Open Blogger

Can the Walking Dead redeem itself? Jonah Goldberg voices his displeasure.

Over/Under for the number of zombies that appear in this episode: 3. Place you bets.

AMC's newest show, Hell on Wheels is a story of revenge set during the construction of the transcontinental railroad. If you missed the first episode, you can see it here.

I thoroughly enjoyed the season premier and especially enjoyed Ted Levine's character. I just wish they could have worked in the line, “It rubs the lotion on it’s skin.”

Dunno. It seems that the one handed hick will be back for this episode. Not only did he survive the blood loss and trauma of sawing off his own hand, but he managed to get off the roof even though all the exits were locked, and then managed to track down the entire group.

Wow, that's sounds really stupid doesn't it.  Nothing this show does now surprises me.   One thing I did find funny is how they played scaring zombie music at the end of last weeks episode as main characters wife was unzipping her pants. (I haven't even bothered to learn the names of characters, except for Meryle)

Walking dead....the Detroit lions?

Wait, what?

Yeah. The Bills look like they've hit a wall too.

Of the two teams, I think the Lions will make the playoffs. The NFC isn't as good as the AFC.

Oh and thanks to the Baltimore Ravens for getting your asses handed to you by the Seahawks. You may have beating my Steelers twice, but you're probably going to barely make it as a Wildcard.

This show lost me when they started introducing whining liberal anti-gun nonsense into the storyline.  "I'll not have this turned into an armed camp!"

Let's see, it's the end of the world, and you're more scared of guns than you are of the forest full of wandering undead cannibals who want to eat you alive?

Stupid.  Just stupid.

Next week, they'll find out he is really a ghost, sent back to them to guide them to somewhere-or-the-other. I think I saw this before, but with a different (more drum-heavy) soundtrack.

I signed up for Netflex so I could see the first season of Walking Dead.  There was only 6 episodes listed, I hope there is more.  I've already gone back and watch the beginning of this season to catch up.

96 There's lots of foreshadowing in this show, folks. The old man and Rick talked about zeds a couple of weeks ago; how Rick would feel if they're was all this zombie killing and someday a 'cure' were found, that kind of thing. The people in the barn and neighbors, friends, family, the old dude is keeping alive because of this. The last few episodes have been a lot better. I particularly like the 'flash back' portions they've had the last couple of weeks.

Did you notice that the redneck Merle hallucination told his brother Daryl that the others are a bunch of "Democrats"? IÂ’m sure the writers were implying "racist criminal drug addict redneck = Republican," but I thought it was pretty apt. The rest of the survivors are pro-gun control, pick the most half-assed solution to every problem, and expect the farmer and his family to take care of them for the rest of their lives.

108 Barn full of walkers, just you wait. The rancher is going to be PRO LIFE and all life is sacred so therefore, he is a kooky, religious zealot nutcake.

Worst line of show -

"Glen, what were you thinking getting into the pants of the ridiculously hot farm girl?"

You don't eat wild rodents, they are a plague risk. You especially don't eat them raw. (I watch "Survivorman" and pay attention.)

Why again do you wander around with an arrow hanging out of you that has a field point on it? When you decode to take it out later, why do you pull the fletched end through you rather than the field point end?

I think I am done with TWD.

OK, The Barn holds the zombies of Farmer vet attitude problem and I'm willing to bet that little girl lost is a zombies in that barn.

First things first, before supper, before washing and hanging out clothes get every one together and fam fire them with every weapon you have, those with apptitude to shoot give them a weapon they can master and carry those who cannot shoot get some stick fighting training.

Everybody starts some good cardio work out time.

Twas me I 'd take off with the old winnebago owner, the blond and merles Brother. I would mod up a dump truck with a closed top dump and a cow catcher welded to the front, gun ports and pikes for defense.

The place to go to would be a nice well equipt mansion with a moat and tall fence with clear fields of fire. Fill the moat with acid or a similar caustic material.

whats really needed for the dump truck and the house is a 20 m/m Orlikon.

QUESTION: Glenn makes love to farmers daughter will Glenn stay or will farmers daughter leave with glenn?

At Lake Lanier there are island that sit out of reach in the lake that are big enough to have houses on and utilities provided for electricty and water. I would go there maybe.

Raw squirrel is usually not the best supper ya look for wolves (bot fly larva swimming in the hole in their skin) too many fleas and ticks don't eat the brain, spineal meat or the guts you might get by with whats left. I'd cook the l'il bushy tailed arboreal rats first.

Squirrel and rabbit have very little fat and a man using his calories trying to survive can starve on a diet of said rodents. I let my squirrels have a home at my house so I won't have to hunt far for a meal.

HORSES: I have owned nine horses in my life and I have two today. I've seen horses spook at tarps, tricycles, chickens and house cats I can imagine what a horse would do when confronted with even one Zombie a whole horde would not make the horses spook any faster than one and then you would be astride one very scared animal running hell bent for the barn at maybe 45 MPH over hill and dale, fences under tree limbs and then the horse will forget you are on him and consider you a zombie on his back and attempt to kill you.

No Horse back riding in Zombie land, if you do make sure the equine is dead broke.

BEST ANTI ZOMBIE WEAPON NOT A FIREARM: A Halbred.
