Want To Reduce The Debt? End The Drilling Moratorium
— Ace

It's not just illegal. And it's not just forcing a greater reliance on Middle East oil.

It's also costing us tax revenue.

But first send someone to question them so they can catch them lying and get them for obstruction as well.

10 Look, here's how we get more revenues: We eliminate oil company subsidies.
That way, they drill less, prices at the pump go up, and we put more money into the hands of Russian autocrats, Middle-Eastern kleptokrats and South American communists.   Everybody wins.

18 One other thought on "reducing the debt". The whole idea of increasing it to begin with was so they would say we just have to increase taxes. That was also the entire point of the so-called deficit panel which was 2/3 communist and 1/3 RINO.

Obama will never agree to any meaningful reduction in spending until he is gone or we get enough scared commies to jam it up his ass..

OK, interesting thought.

I know title 10 does not allow the Federal Government from competing with corporations.

Does it also stop State Governments from doing the same?

ie, could a State start a Corporation to mine for minerals, and drill, on State Land? and use said proceeds?

Posted by: Romeo13 at February 09, 2011 12:23 PM (AdK6a)

31 The great economic genius, John Maynard Keynes, was very clear when he said that drilling for oil or engaging in other productive tasks during hard economic times should never be done.  Better to have the government accumulate debt, bury the money in jars and have people work digging them up and spending the proceeds.  That's how you create an economy that will be totally resistant to any recessions (like a perpetual motion machine and unlike anything else we have ever observed in nature) and you keep people slim in the process.  It also helps the jar industry, which is vitally important to the proper functioning of any society.

47 Want To Reduce The Debt? End The Drilling Moratorium

It's not just illegal. And it's not just forcing a greater reliance on Middle East oil.

Have you lost your mind? Don't you know that I'm engaged in a life and death struggle against deflation, to stop falling prices? That is all I am concerned about. We need prices to rise. But, you want to drill for oil and increase the wealth available, which means that our current number of dollars have to be spread more thinly, leading to ... DEFLATION!! If you drill for oil, I'm going to have to print $3 trillion more dollars just to keep the price of oil stable at $120/bbl!

You are making a mockery of all my sustained efforts to slay the deflation dragon and to keep prices rising. You should be thanking me, but instead, you come up with this! I don't know why I print all this money when people are still screaming about going out and creating more wealth. Stop already!
