What?
— Ace

Greg Sergeant is of course a zealous hack on behalf of Obama.

Regarding this latest scandal, let's not let AP jump to the head of the line on scandal investigations. As @drewmtips is pointing out (and as I mentioned in my article, obliquely), there may actual be justification here for finding a leaker, depending on what information the leaker actually compromised.

The Obama Administration has a lot of callow sissies in it who kind of get off on telling stories about CIA missions and SEAL operations. They think talking about men of action sort of makes them manly themselves. They don't seem to care that this behavior might put real men in jeopardy.

We saw this a lot with SEAL Team 6, as a bunch of Obama people (including, who knows, possibly Obama himself) could not wait to tell their Best Girfriends Forever in the media all this awesome boy-stuff the SEALs were doing!

Related: Obama says Republicans are making people cynical about government.

Ah yes. We're the ones doing that. Got it.

24 Cross-posted from below... I think its time to come on out and say it - Obama's reelection is completely illegitimate. It is now time for honorable Americans, whether they be republicans, independents or those few left democrats with any integrity, to work against this illegitimate fraud, by civil disobedience if necessary, until he is removed from office and a free and democratic election held. Obviously, Slow Joe Biden's claim to office is similarly illegitimate. Add to the attack on the A.P. the following: Still, the Obama administration's misconduct facially includes using the I.R.S. to harass and suppress opposition, hampering the TeaParty and others who would work against him through democratic means (denying their capacity to operate by delaying and denying their tax exemption, interfering with their operation by ridiculous demands for paperwork in transparently political fashion, and by revealing non-disclosable taxpayer information to democrat party aligned groups). That's what this was about - unlawfully constraining legitimate and healthy political opposition. And its absurd that this did not come from the upper echelons of this lawless administration. This is nothing less than an attack on our democracy, Chicago style. Moreover, its clear Obama's gang deliberately concealed information from the electorate concerning Benghazi, colluding in a cover up of his administration's malfeasance, including stand down orders that reportedly can only come from the very top, for transparent political gain. Sure, he knew it would come out eventually, notwithstanding the media functioning as a filter to propel his political interests, country be damned, but he only needed to survive the 8 weeks until the November election. Thereafter, we would be stuck with him for 4 more years, of golf, parties, fellow celeb-u-tards and economic decline. Worse, they blamed an innocent patsy who, right now, languishes in Federal prison. The contention that this did not come from the top levels of his micro-managing, media obsessed, narcissist lead administration is transparently absurd. Regardless, this is simply not a legitimate president, and there is no reason why Americans should treat him as such.

This is the office of the President of the United States! Get out of here!' But he didn't do that.  My president just sat there."

1. Benghazi - "But attacks on embassies BOOSH!" Except not on 9/11, in an active warzone, with a stand-down order, and not blaming an unrelated YouTube video.

2. IRS - "But churches targeted by BOOSH!" Yes, pastors getting in the pulpit and specifically telling their constituents to vote for John Kerry were targeted, since a church advocating for a candidate would be illegal. Not the IRS targeting people just based on phrases or political views.

The same is true of Fast & Furious, Solyndra, and all the other bullshit.

If these guys are as slimy as we think and given the other things I have to think they don't ever mention any of these things. Thus he can't get in trouble as he is made continuously ignorant and therefore not to blame. People get into trouble when they do specific things and not intrinsic things. Do not impeach.

Jackson and Clinton beat the rap.

Nixon Quit.

Grant, Buchanan and other failures finished their terms.

3) Call all conservatives raaaaacist for talking about impeachment

Backwards Boy, this issue comes up so often I created a Notepad file just to copy/paste whenever it arises...but I haven't uploaded it yet to this new computer.

Impeachment is merely a set of charges, like an indictment. It is produced in the House, with a 50% + 1 vote needed to proceed to trial in the Senate.

In the Senate, a 2/3 vote is needed to convict on any given charge. Thus 67 votes are needed. Incidentally, none of the votes in the Senate to convict Clinton were even close.

Not even close.

"As @drewmtips is pointing out (and as I mentioned in my article, obliquely), there may actual be justification here for finding a leaker, depending on what information the leaker actually compromised."

Okay, so riddle me this.  Why did the J.D. notify the AP on their snooping activities if they had actual justification?  If the subpoenas were indeed acquired without notification to the AP, the (only) justifiable reason being that notification would jeopardize the investigation makes sense.  So why tell the AP now?  Is the J.D. required to notify them after the investigation is over?  If that's the case then why do the AP peeps have their panties in a wad?  Just mad that they've sucked every dick in the administration and got fucked in the ass?

They are callow sissies who get a stiffy talking about boy stuff.

They're also big projecters.  They're the ones bringing up impeachment because this is what THEY would do.  In fact, they would have done it, like, back in October if this was a Republican administration.  Investigations would be well under way by now with multiple leaks and talk of frog-marching and heads-a-rolling all over Capitol Hill.  Also, it allows them to control the narrative.  (Impeachment talk is for weirdo right wingnuts.  Let's talk about weirdo right wingnuts.)

116 27 It's a trap. They want us to go impeachment because it would prove our racism and unreasonableness. Better to let him stew in his mess. Posted by: Titan at May 13, 2013 06:36 PM (3uVl7) This. It seems too good to be true that all this crap is coming out now just by chance. They're airing some of their dirty laundry in order to goad us into overreaching. They know they probably won't win the House in 2014 as things are now. The economy is still pretty sucktacular, job growth is anemic, confiscatory, draconian gun control is still a loser at the polls, and gay marriage only goes so far. The only way they can win the House, and assure they keep the Senate, is if they can get the Republicans to screw up big. No matter how crappy his policies and performance are, as things stand Obama is still pretty popular personally, especially with the Low Information crowd. This same MSM that is now highlighting these stories and sounding temptingly even-handed will go right back into Palace Guard mode the moment their messiah is placed in any real danger. Hell, knowing our crappy MSM for what it is, they're probably coordinating this with the White House and the Congressional Democrats..... It's better to hold back the temptation to go after Barry, and instead put all this to better use: Use these scandals to bludgeon the Democrats and hammer them in hearings. Point out consistently and repeatedly that these scandals are the result of Democrat incompetence or outright thuggishness of Obama appointees and aides. And of course, as bad as Barry is, Slow Joe wouldn't be any better

Posted by: djm1992 at May 13, 2013 03:15 PM (1o4B5)

117 I'm not sure why people don't think we can have our cake and eat it too here. Let the impeachment talk circulate while his continuing fuckups, and perhaps the midterms become about putting an end to the Obama regime in the most humiliating manner remaining.

Two years is a long time for any of these scandals to be investigated, and given the character Obama's shown, it's unlikely they are all completely unconnected to him. Plus Biden wouldn't exactly be an effective banner carrier for the commies for the duration of his stay in office. And Hillary 2016 gets scorched in the process.

Even if there's no actual impeachment vote, just the idea of it poisons the well for the rest of his time occupying the White House, and nothing more gets done. Which at this point is our optimal outcome.

Somehow I don't think it's just because the Republicans are hot on this sumbitches trail that people are "cynical about government".  When you've got the Obamaturd raining scorn on bitter clingers and such--and talking out of two sides of his mouth whilst simulataneously blowing a  whole bunch of smoke out of h is backside---well you'd have to be pretty danged dumb not to be cynical about Obama.  Heckfire even the readers over at Reader's Digest just made Da Bamstuh the 65th most trustworthy man in America.  I understand he came  in way behind Rin Tin Tin and Lassy.

Fact of the matter is, if I was a girl--and I'm not--I'd trust Obama just about as much as I would trust the guy who tells me he'll "pull out in time".  Ain't gonna happen.

Who the hell is Greg Sargent, anyway?

As to any illusions of impeachment, I can't believe anybody in here would be against it, if it were a viable possibility. If the last week has reminded us of anything, it is how profoundly corrupt Obama's administration is. Hell, maybe we can take heart that Nixon is being eclipsed. Sure, Clinton had a boatload of scandals, and was indisputably the most embarrassing President in history, but I don't think he had this level of corruption.  He didn't have a sitting AG found in contempt of Congress, he didn't have a DHS (or equivalent) being sued by her employees for her asking them not to follow the law, or have recess appointment for a recess that didn't happen, or have a war without consent of Congress, ..., it just seems to go on and on.

To make impeachment a realistic possibility TFG's approval rating would have to plummet severely. That would take a lot of weeks like this one, where his former propaganda machine has suddenly decided to do their jobs for some reason. Who knows? Maybe this will snowball.

We're heading into more uncharted territory. How does a President function when the people KNOW he has lied to, and basically betrayed us (abandoning our people in a asinine attempt to cover-up a terrorist attack). He's still lying about it to our faces, just as he literally took out an ad to lie to our faces about "you didn't build that". People are finally noticing this one, though.

Posted by: Optimizer at May 13, 2013 03:59 PM (Mxt9o)

124 Is there something actually wrong with President useless as tits on a bull? Stupid question I know but he seems to be missing something normal people have in terms of common decency or empathy. There seems an utter lack of humanity--kind of like what C.S. Lewis called men without chests. I know I'm late to this party.

125 Libs salivating uncontrollably over the prospect of impeachment so they can scram it's due to Rethuglikkkan racism. Better to let the SCOAMF dangle in the wind, hoisted by his own skinny petard, an impotent POTUS for the rest of his lame duck term.

Posted by: GatorGirl at May 13, 2013 04:10 PM (+BvPL)

126 Impeachment is folly. Not just because we don't have the votes, but also because it would be missing an opportunity.

Remember, Zero is going to be around post-Preznitcy, running his mouth and generally being the low-level agitator he is. Three years of scandal, corruption and failure will destroy his rock star vibe and make him the butt of every joke. Think Carter and Nixon rolled into one.

Also, the game here is not to destroy the man, but the twisted ideology that spawned him. The only way you do that is to let events so thoroughly discredit his mal-Administration and belief system that it becomes abhorrent. Let these shitbags stew in that as they live on the ill gotten pensions we will be providing them.
