— Ace Earlier, they were subpeonaed.
Now, a source says they will withhold some documents, which I take to mean all the important documents.
Check out the editorializing by CNN in the first three words here, insisting that there's nothing at all amiss.
Consistent with precedent, the president's legal counsel is refusing to hand over all internal White House communications related to the energy firm, including President Obama's Blackberry messages, arguing that the president needs to protect open counsel from advisers and staff. In part, the letter obtained by CNN says the request "implicates longstanding and significant institutional Executive Branch confidentiality interests. Encroaching upon these important interests is not necessary, however, because the agency documents the Committee has requested, which include communications with the White House, should satisfy the Committee's stated objective - to 'understand the involvement of the White House in the review of the Solyndra loan guarantee and the Administration's support of this guarantee.'"
"Consistent with precedent."

Brought over because the other thread was dead and I still have faith in Americans:
435 OT and I am typing with blurred vision. Across from our porch is a playground and there were 4 little girls, about ages 8 - 10. Everyday 4:30 sharp over the loudspeakers, first comes retreat and then the National Anthem. All 4 stopped ( they must be new, cause I never seen them before) put their hand over their hearts and started singing. Now pardon me while I go wipe the dust out of my eyes.Posted by: Ma Bell at October 14, 2011 07:38 PM (uVuwp)

I remember when they use to call Reagan the Teflon President.
"A superhard substance that is more slippery than Teflon could protect mechanical parts from wear and tear, and boost energy efficiency by reducing friction.
The "ceramic alloy" is created by combining a metal alloy of boron, aluminium and magnesium (AlMgB14) with titanium boride (TiB2). It is the hardest material after diamond and cubic boron nitride.
BAM, as the material is called, was discovered at the US Department of Energy Ames Laboratory in Iowa in 1999, during attempts to develop a substance to generate electricity when heated.
BAM is much slipperier than Teflon, with a coefficient of friction of .02 compared to .05. Lubricated steel has a friction coefficient of 0.16.
oBAMa.

Consistent with precedent, the president's legal counsel is refusing to hand over all internal White House communications related to the energy firm, including President Obama's Blackberry messages, arguing that the president needs to protect open counsel from advisers and staff.
Solyndra is/was a commercial firm, engaged in manufacturing a product intended for public use, by the general public, in locations that are, well, public, or at least in public view all the time ... rooftops.
What possible communication could the White House have with Solyndra that could be legitimately considered "sensitive"? It seems unlikely that Solyndra was divulging any company-proprietary material, and if they were, why protect it from the Congressional Committee? What technical advice could possbly come from the White House?
But we know that Solyndra received a titanic loan, and was on the verge of getting another loan, almost as big.
What information about these loans would be legitimately sensitive, in the sense of needing Executive Priviledge to protect it from foreign ears? Why whould any loan information need protection?
One thing that comes to mind: the fact that the WH pushed these loans at a time when it had knowledge of Solyndra's impending failure. Keeping such details secret seems understandable ... but details of this sort would likely indicate a crime or several ... fraud, swindle, payola, money laundering, ... help me out here, people.
Keeping such details secret, and trying to cover up afterwards ... aren't those crimes as well? Does EP cover communications indicating criminal conduct or cover-ups?
Paging Messrs Haldemann, Erlichmann, Dean & Liddy ...

The stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure still has his allies, including every Democrat in Congress, the toe-sucking media and a horde of people still waiting for "their stuff" from Obama's stash. His opponents -- at least the ones who are in a position to do something -- are a bunch of power-hungry fatcats, unwilling to sacrifice any of their perks and privileges, including entree to the DC party scene.
The events of the last few months have pretty much convinced me that the Chicago Jesus, that America-hating traitor, will get through the events that would have sent anyone else to prison and, what's more, he'll get to keep his gig for four more years.

I pointed her to Rush's 2009 CPAC speech. One of the direct quotes she used was, "We don't see the average American as someone to exploit as a victim; we see potential."
This teacher is quite a refreshing change. The social studies teacher my older one had used to have a George Bush voodoo doll she kept in the classroom.

WASHINGTON -- A former Energy Department adviser who pushed for a California solar company to receive a half-billion federal loan has raised more than $500,000 for President Barack Obama's reelection campaign.
New campaign finance records show that Steve Spinner, a former sport fitness executive who helped monitor a clean energy loan guarantee program, raised more than $500,000 for Obama as of Sept. 30.
Emails released last week show that Spinner was actively involved in a $528 million federal loan for Solyndra Inc., despite pledging to recuse himself because his wife's law firm represented the company.
Another Energy Department adviser, Steve Westly, has raised more than $200,000 for Obama. Westly tried to warn Obama against a May 2010 trip to Solyndra's Fremont, Calif., headquarters. Obama went on the trip anyway.

I just saw the clip of Henry "ratface" Waxman's comments about how the loan was a bad idea.
Yeah Henry, no shit. It was a bad loan. Everyone with an IQ in triple digits knows that. That isn't the issue you dishonest prick.
He then goes on to say that there is no evidence of illegality.
Except for the fact that every single thing we've seen thus far indicates the contrary, unless you have something to indicate that repayment of loans to the Federal Government was not subordinated to repayment of loans to private entities in clear violation of federal law.
This douchenozzle along with other Dems are following their ancient custom of circling the wagons and using obfuscation when their dear leader is in scandal. They are betting that the controversy won't have legs so long as enough people don't understand it.
This issue isn't rocket science. Republicans should pursue it. It can be easily explained and easily understood. It makes Obama out to be at best incompetent and at worst a crook.
