White House "responds" to Ryan plan
— Slublog

The scare quotes are there because this is not really a response to the specifics in Ryan's plan. It's more a mash-up of the general Democrat talking points that always come up when Republicans talk about spending cuts.

The President believes that dramatically reducing AmericaÂ’s long-term deficit is essential to growing our economy and winning the future...Any plan to reduce our deficit must reflect the American values of fairness and shared sacrifice. Congressman RyanÂ’s plan fails this test. It cuts taxes for millionaires and special interests while placing a greater burden on seniors who depend on Medicare or live in nursing homes, families struggling with a child who has serious disabilities, workers who have lost their health care coverage, and students and their families who rely on Pell grants.
Benefits for millionaires and special interests? Check. Shout-out to the seniors? Check. General sob stories about sick kids? Check. It's all boilerplate, and demonstrates once that Obama doesn't really take this issue seriously. After all, it's easier to lean on cheap demagoguery than actually lead or offer their own plan.

How generic is this statement? The Democrats could reuse this ad, with basically the same message:

Win the future with the rhetoric of the past!

Win the future with the rhetoric of the past!

They would've used that, except Mondale didn't use that ad in the '60s.

2 See, now is when you call out the President on this bullshit and go straight
to the American people and tell them what's what.

Or bring it all down sooner rather than later.

Seriously, if this Obama were any less serious about the budget, Jon Stewart would have to lend him the clown nose.

If the Democrats had put any less thought into their responses, we'd have to check to make sure their brain-stems were still functioning.

Here's another one you can use, Democrats, "The Republican plan is fundamentally unserious..."  See, another lie you can use.  This one even goes farther, because it includes your projection as well.  See how easy this is?

More seriously...  Until and unless the Republicans get out EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. to point out the abject retardation that is the current Democrat party, we're going to lose.  Once they wake up and realize that neither the Democrats in government, nor their bought-and-paid-for media are their friends- we can't help but win.

I challenge the Obama administration or any Obama defender to find me a writing by one of the Founding Fathers, or one by someone like De Toqueville, that talks about how important the values of "fairness" and "shared sacrifice" were to the founding of our nation.

To a Leftist, these are important values.

But they aren't American values.  You can argue about whether they are important for government to observe or not, but the fact remains that they aren't core American values.

A man who set up a table with political literature and a sign supporting President Barack Obama was attacked in San FranciscoÂ’s North Panhandle neighborhood on Monday morning, a police captain said Tuesday.

The attack happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Fell Street, where the victim, a 29-year-old Daly City man, had set up his table, said Capt. Denis OÂ’Leary of the Police DepartmentÂ’s Park Station.

A man and woman approached the victim, tore one of the signs and shook the table, causing the political literature to fall to the ground.

Unfairness creates more poor.  The poor vote for us.  Completely discredited?  No chance.  We should have been completely discredited hundreds of times before, yet it never, ever happens.  We give people what they want - free shit, courtesy of whitey.

OT question for the Moron gearheads.

Long story short, the '90 Ramcharger dropped voltage and a mechanic buddy of mine replaced the alternator, assuming the voltage regulator was internal because it wasn't visibly mounted on the firewall.

It turns out that there is an external regulator and not only is it not where it should be (we even called Chrysler) it's nowhere to be found, anywhere. At all.

WTF? Any ideas?

Let me save "Barry" and the comrades some trouble. Instead of repeating their tired crap, how about just referring to it by the numbers:

Hurts working families Hurts the poor Money for Wall Street fat cats (yeah, I know they're in the Dem camp, but the rubes don't) Discourages queering off Doesn't promote multiculturalism Tax cuts for millionaires Disadvantages Muzzies Greater burden on seniors Less money for students Recruits more terrorists Doesn't promote diversity Cuts benefits for minorities, and of course, the Big One  Slows HIGH SPEED RAIL, the key to all existence.

So "Barry" only needed to say "Well, as I've said before, and let me be perfectly clear, #5, #7, #1, and most of all, #10 !!!111!!! bitchez!"

270 I really don't know...I was just giving you some guff.....Hell, between the fuel injection and emission crap anymore, you DO have to be a rocket scientist to work on a car.
I can still change the HELL out of the oil!!!

It's cool, I always welcome guff.

I just can't figure out why the part that is supposed to be there, isn't there.

NASA must have been involved.

281 wow can't believe I missed this this morning.  Mika's  batting a thousand and she is so good with her "rich biotch, aging debutante, dowager voice" but to so disrespect Paul Ryan.  If it happened to a lib/dem, the outrage would be unbelievable.

We did. The fender wells on the driver's side have a bunch of wiring and relays and there's nothing on the passenger side. The radiator might be worth a second look because it's hard to look around. We're going to put it on the lift tomorrow and put the fucking lights to it.

It doesn't make any sense.

Mrs. Earp and I are each on our second Saturn.  Love them to death.  Don't know what the hell we're gonna do when we need new cars.

Consider a Subaru.  Despite the smug, self-righteous crunchy militant lesbians that drive them, it's a damn fine car.

Saw one of those new Erkel inspired Obama cars today, it was so slow it held up traffic for blocks. Thousand of Horns Honking, it finally pulled off the road.

I've been talking shit for years about celebrating the upcoming Earth Day by taking the sawzall to the catylitic converter and straight piping it out the back.

I might just actually do it this time since I have the rig on a lift. We'll see how lazy and/or drunk I am.

289 272 400 horsepower and sexy as shit

Dude, you totally have different "sexy car" genes than I do. I mean, A Ferrari 599, sure. An Aston DBS, why not. Even the new Mustang and Camaro *look* great, though I have my problems with both of them.

That thing? Looks kind of like a Cadillac CTS and a Pontiac Solstice had a crack baby. The interior... well, it's beige. Also, the gauges look a little fiddly, as in hard to read quickly.

Also, you can get family station wagons with over 400hp these days, FYI. That *used* to be a lot.

The really weird thing is, he designed the DB9 and V8 Vantage, which I loved.

I thought the Z8 looked a little bit like it had no idea what it wanted to be when it grew up.

And I have a very good friend who restores Ferraris for a living so I've seen plenty and had the pleasure of driving a few. Individual looks are always in the eye and shit. But seeing this one in person, pretty impressive. 400 Horsepower is not that big a deal for a conventional ride. For a hybrid that gets 100 mpg, yeah, it's a big deal.

I call bullshit on the mileage. I haven't even looked at the car and I'm pretty confident of that.

Hell, the Prius only gets 17mpg if you drive it balls-out, and I don't think someone is going to drive an exotic performance car and drive it at 45mph in the slow lane all the time.

So the White House and dims do nothing about our debt except give a speech that we need to do something about it, and go on spending what we don't have.  Paul Ryan works on a real plan and the White House and dims do nothing but bitch about it.  The Presidents leadership is AWOL, again, on an important issue the country must deal with.  This just makes the President and his dim party look bad while Ryan looks like somebody in Washington is taking a lead and earning his pay.  Ryan looks like the grown up here, Ryan looks like the leader.  Ryan must be working above his pay-grade if the President can't come up with anything but a speech he doesn't even believe in.  The donks don't have a plan and don't want one.  They need to just sit down and shut-up.

The VW Karmann Ghia is one butt ugly car.  I agree the Scion is ugly too.
