Who Are These Republicans? UPDATED
— Dave in Texas

Joe Walsh (Ind Ill.), John Mica (Fla.), Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.), Dan Burton (Ind.), Walter Jones (N.C.), Paul Broun (Ga.), Mike Pompeo (Kansas), Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Connie Mack (Fla.), Jeff Duncan (S.C.), Todd Akin (Mo.), Tim Huelskamp (Kansas), Jeff Landry (La.), Tim Murphy (Penn.), Steven Palazzo (Miss.), Dennis Ross (Fla.), John Carter (Texas), Ted Poe (Texas), Vicky Hartzler (Mo.), Kenny Marchant (Texas), Lynn Jenkins (Kansas), Quico Canseco (Texas), Charles Boustany (La.), Alan Nunnelee (Miss.), Diane Black (Tenn.), Ann Marie Buerkle (N.Y.), Allen West (Fla.), Blake Farenthold (Texas), John Culberson (Texas), Frank LoBiondo (N.J.), Steven Pearce (N.M.), Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.), Trent Franks (Ariz.), Louis Gohmert (Texas), Denny Rehberg (Mont.), Bob Latta (Ohio), Rodney Alexander (La.), Gus Bilirakis (Fla.), Blaine Luetkemeyer (Mo.) and Tom Graves (Ga.).

They're the 40 Republicans who called on Obama to demand Eric Holder's resignation over "Fast and Furious" today.

“In intentionally letting over 2,000 firearms ‘walk’ across the border into Mexico,” it continues, “the [ATF] — under the leadership of Attorney General Holder — carried out an operation that left a U.S. Border Patrol agent dead, broke federal law and attempted to build a case for gun control. Operation Fast and Furious has proved to be one of the most serious errors in judgment carried out in recent history by a federal agency.”

From a "realistic" POV, there's no chance Obama even gives this a glance. Too early in the process, and there's an ongoing "Nixon-like" fight underway (SWIDT?) over documents subpoenaed by Issa's committee.

From a "politics" POV, it's perfect. Keep the pressure on Holder and the DoJ, keep F&F in the spotlight, hammer them relentlessly on this. Don't. Let. Up.

UPDATE: Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales (oh my) seeks extradition of six suspects "accused of participating in a plot to arm Mexican drug cartels with guns from the United States." via adamsbaldwin

UPDATE2: 46 now. [via WilliamAmos]. Not sure who the missing 4 are.

That is a very important question, and we would like to thank you for the opportunity to address the issue.  Rest assured, we strongly favor safety at home.  With regard to your specific areas of inquiry: (1) Mexicans - we already have all the domestic help we need, thank you; the remainder are therefore expendable. (2) ranchers - good, salt of the earth working people, but cow farts make Mother Gaia cry - they are therefore expendable. (3) Border agents - Jesus Christ, you people keep telling us to cut government overhead and then you complain when we do it!

From Chemmy's link:

Syracuse police are in the beginning stages of investigating an allegation that Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine molested a team ball boy for more than 12 years beginning in the 1980s, according to an ESPN report.

Fine is in his 35th year as Syracuse assistant coach.

The alleged victim, Bobby Davis, told ESPN Outside the Lines that Fine began molesting him in 1983 before Davis started the seventh grade and continued molesting him periodically until Davis was 27 years old. Davis said Fine molested him in Fine's home, at the Syracuse basketball facilities, and on road trips that included the 1987 Final Four.

OK, a couple of things that really stand out to me in this article.  First of all, assistant coach for 35 years?  WTF?  And then, how is a 27 year old man periodically molested?  I understand him being a victim when he was younger, but 27?  Really?

Boy, I'm really in a foul mood!

Very small, based on the district they carved his into.

Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, Azusa, San Dimas, Upland, Devore, San Antonio Heights and the communities in-between are very similar politically.

Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.), the chairman of the panelÂ’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, told reporters that he agreed with the opinion of Dan Carol, a former Obama administration campaign aide who pressed the White House to replace Chu in an email earlier this year.

“I just think he has failed the test, and in my personal opinion, I agree with Dan Carol’s email that at this point he should probably be replaced by the president,” Stearns said.

“The fact that he’s unaware of so many things makes me think that he’s not the best person for the position.”

Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, Azusa, San Dimas, Upland, Devore, San Antonio Heights and the communities in-between are very similar politically.

So, of course, had to break that one up to make way for more Democrats.

R's should have fought back hard on the "nonpartisan" commission.

Roll Call stated that he is hopeful about the map being overturned but that sounds highly unlikely.

Not much unless you live around or are traveling near the Jacksonville, FL area.  It's a franchise restaurant that was doing great until the summer hit and it just hasn't picked back up since.  I decided to risk this route instead of taking a federal job just based on pure principle.

It's a Quiznos and a damn fine one if I do say so myself.

Basically there have just been too many layoffs in my market from the large and small, national and local employers.  Gas prices spiked, unemployment slightly higher than the nat'l avg, and a housing market crash waaaay worse than the national avg has just killed everyone in my area regardless of industry.

Of course, there are major problems with the franchisor, but that's a whole other story.

They're all independently owned, but any business helps the brand.  We're one of the test markets for a brand re-launch that's scheduled to go national in Feb.  Lots of new menu items and better quality products.  That's not sales pitch, that's no shit.  For one - the new turkey is fan-fucking-tastic.  We're also increasing portions too.

But the big thing is they're actually going to advertise nationally again, and it's not going to be stupid singing cats or homoerotic talking toasters with naked men in bathtubs, so that's a plus on a few levels right there.

And now Dave in Texas is seeing the entire collective Clown Car division of the House Republican Caucus demanding Holder be fired as a 'good strategy'. It certainly would be a good strategy for any other conceivable combination of 40 members of the Republican House Caucus OTHER than the Clown Car denizens, but really - how seriously does anyone in the world take a list than opens with Joe Walsh. This is almost as bad as the RNC issuing a press release saying Holder is the best AG in decades.

245 Congressional failure to approve a supercommittee proposal supposedly will trigger a $1.2 trillion sequester, half from national security budgets. But the trigger will not be pulled until 2013. No Congress can bind another, and any trigger Congress creates Congress can disable. Obama, who may not be president then, hints that he might veto legislation that alters the sequester. But suppose the sequester occurs. Ignore loose talk about “draconian” spending cuts.

I don't know if Scott Brown is going to last, he is a RINO. He's trying to please the independents and dems that supported him. The race was a national race to replace Teddy K and it went viral, Jim DeMint sent an email to say that we could support him but he was not a Senate Conservatives Fund candidate.  I wish Scott would take lessons from Senator DeMint and ignore John Kerry. He ran as an outsider, he can stay an outsider from our crop of idiots.

250 Why is this important - keeps it in teh news makes it harder for the MFM outside of CBS to ignore. Particularly hard to ignore the Mexican government calls for extradition. When NBC starts to cover it - instead of covering it up - the end will be near, Holder and Obama are sweating bullets (I see what I did there) over this.

When the first Demonrat runs down the rope and calls for the resignation Holder and Obama will be pissing blood.

Hey here is a question for you - what happens when Gabby Giffords calls for their impeachment? Will you still think Holder and Obama have a shot?

See if Obama and Holder are involved this is much bigger than Watergate.

Don't think Holder and Obama are involved OK, point to the person in the DOJ who headed this up. Had to be DOJ, since multiple federal agencies were involved. Explain where he got the money for this operation. Explain how he changed ATF policy and got everyone to play along, and how he is getting the White House and DOJ to stonewall for him.

Mexican AG calls for six people to be extradited. Hmm, six greater than one .... wait... its coming to me.. whats that word... extradited... criminal... six... Ace... can you help me here...I know there is a word for this...wait wait I've got it, oh yeah that's right, its now officially a f'king

Posted by: An Observation at November 18, 2011 07:21 AM (ylhEn)

254 By the way, the memos to Holder on Fast and Furious show that the chain of command was attempting to inform the Attorney General of the operation. That means that nobody in the chain of command intercepted the information coming up the chain. If there had been somebody running a rogue operation at a lower level in the chain they would not have passed the information up to their superiors.

The place in the chain where the information breaks points to the head of the conspiracy. Where is the chain break?
