— Ace It's not that I want them to go hog-wild in attempting to destroy the armed forces with this story.
It's that I can only think of one explanation for why they did just that with respect to Abu Ghraib but have yet to ask Obama a single question about multiple murders.
Everyone who is honest know why. Now that our former "cowboy president" has given way to our "international out-reach artist," nothing which might end up in the minus column of Barack Obama's presidential ledger will be given remotely the same treatment. As of this writing, there has been no speculation about how high up the chain of command the current debacle goes, or what the president and/or his advisors knew, or when they knew it. No officers have been fired, as a brigadier general was during Abu Ghraib incident. "60 Minutes" has yet to do a show. Photos of the murdered victims haven't been plastered night after night on every news channel in the country. None of the current defendants have been turned into household figures the way Specialist Charles Graner "and his former fiancee," Specialist Lynndie England, were during Abu Ghraib. The bet here is that no Americans, other than dedicated news hounds, could name a single defendant in the current case.Again, I bring this up not to illuminate the deficiencies of our military. It is our mainstream media which have revealed that there are no limits to their own depravity. Don't believe it? Ask yourself when the media ever downplayed a multiple-murder story, or soft-pedaled a military scandal. Ask yourself how it's possible that president Obama has neither been asked single a question, nor made a single statement about these murders, despite the fact that they occurred in 2009, and that Specialist Jeremy Morlock of Wasilla, AK pleaded guilty to the crimes last week.
Reality check: the mainstream media is engaged in arguably one of the most damning and deliberate errors of omission ever orchestrated in order to protect "their man" in the White House. And take it to the bank that such "selective reporting" is going to increase exponentially the closer we get to the 2012 election. Our self-admitted cocaine-sniffing, communist mentored, paper-trail-less, terrorist associating occupant in the Oval Office will never be subjected to remotely the same journalistic rigor that will be directed at whomever his Republican opponent turns out to be.

My local paper occasionally runs an AP story on the case, but it's never any where near the front page and the headers are always understated.

indeed. I kinda felt this way about Abu Gharib as well. If I am not mistaken the people involved were already being tried in military court, so the constant front page stories weren't really breaking anything or revealing a cover up.
The media is treating this story the same way I wish they would have treated Abu Gharib. As a crime committed by a small group of soldiers and that no one is really resposible except those who committed the evil acts.
Try them and punish them accordingly and lets move on.
Let's be honest, it's a freaking war, stuff like this is going to happen. When you have hundreds of thousands on men in the field, there are going to be a few rapes, murders, etc. Our Armed Forces aren't capable of screening out the truly deranged and evil any better than private companies, public schools, etc.
It happens, report on it, give the details and then move on.

I, like most African Americans, was very proud when Mr. Obama was elected the first black president of America, so it pains me deeply to say that if the president uses just one of our soldiers to drop so much as a fire cracker into Libya, then I swear on my loving motherÂ’s grave that I will do everything in my power to help him out of office.
A large number of people voted against the president. What if that number took up arms to try and remove the president? What do you think would happen?
Our arrogance stinks to the high heavens and it extends to all colors and cultures.
I had high hopes when Mr. Obama won the election, but it seems to me that his tail got wagged by the very office he holds.

The news media is SURE that Obama couldn't possibly have supported the "kill teams". He wants to TALK to our enemies, not kill them.
They MUST have been authorized by Bush & Cheney. Bloodthirsty Republican haters!
And EVERYONE surely agrees with this, because it's so obvious.
Ergo, no need for further discussion!
(Unless, of course, the media decides to camp out in front of Bush's or Cheney's homes and ambush them with cameras rolling as Cindy Sheehan and her Code Pink protestors dust off their signs from 2006....)

You dehumanize because it's the only way you can function after watching some guy get blown to pieces because he was planting an IED.
I remember reading a story about PTSD among UAV operators. They'd spend days watching a target, getting his pattern of life, watching him play with his kids and act like a normal human being. And then they'd get the order to kill him with the push of a button. That stuff sticks with you, and you have to find a way to handle it. I've seen a lot of guys who've hit their limit. Usually, they're halfway into a bottle all the time.

As much as I hate the media double standard, I can't really get excited over the prospect of this story becoming front page news.
I wouldn't suggest a complete media blackout, but if even one American (military or civilian) gets killed or wounded as an indirect result of the story getting widespread press, it's too high a price to pay.
Besides, I doubt even deliberate attempts to pin some of the blame on Obama would gain much traction.

Kermit Gosnell.
OK so we don't plan on covering a few stories you'd like to see us cover... we can't cover any story that reflects badly on the president everything.

If anyone is wondering WHY Obama would keep his original birth certificate under wraps consider the two obvious possibilities:
1) It lists him as "caucasion" because looking at his mother, a doctor would have chosen the obvious alternative.
2) It lists his religion as "muslim" because his father was and later listed Barry Sorreto as one on the admission papers to a maddras.
Either one would be in direct conflict with, and would dammage, his magnificently cultivated "black christian" image facade.

At lights out on the USS America in 1986, the ship's chaplain prayed for the Liban sailors that were on sortie to defend Kaddaffy's Line of Death.
The pics of the burning, sinking vessels with crew in the water made the rounds in hours.

Moi aussi. The idea of tossing candy and then killing the bright-eyed young things with an evil laugh--it was cornball. I'm sorry, but Rolling Stone is written by stupid people for even stupider people, and I cannot credit their tales of woe.

Why not? Every word is true. I'll stake my honor on it.

25- Sponge: " That being said.....treating the taking of human lives like a scene in a video game is a bit troublesome."
I don't want to sound like a dick but you've never been in a firefight I'm assuming. Generally in my experience when you finally figure where the shooting is coming (which is confusing and very agitating) and you can find and fix the enemy and you waste them with fires it's a very rewarding experience and yes we're going to cheer. Especially when you're in the infantry. That's what we train to do. We train to kill, smash, and maim durkas. It's job satisfaction. You know if you go to football practice your whole life and you and your team never play in a game but one day your team plays and you win...it's the same thing.

There is something seriously wrong with my country.
There is no truth in the media anymore.
Its lies shams and outright deceit.
Too much evil in the hearts of men.

I don't see a real answer to the problem, too many people just take what they're given, it's not like you can force people to wake up and smell the crap that's being shoveled into their heads by these leftist shills who have barricaded themselves in the nightly news and major papers and are keeping all the other voices out.
You can't even talk to liberals anymore, not so they can understand.
I have real fear that we're approaching the end of functional Western civilization, and these mooks will be cheering right up to the point where they get shoved up against a wall by their "saviors" and executed.
