Go Rangers.  I just couldn't wait to see this game.  I get such a moment of peace and calm when I see George and Laura Bush sitting next to Nolan Ryan at the home games.  These are the times I think, well maybe everything will be ok in the world.   Ahh, who am I kidding we're screwed.

At least we weren't subjected to SCOAMF and his mom jeans throwing out the first pitch.

Posted by: Dave S. at October 22, 2011 08:20 PM (UvR6d)

68 All the Rangers have to do is find some pitching, figure out how to hit St. Louis pitching, walk Pujols every time he comes up, and win three out of four tagainst a team that just pwned them.  It's not over yet.

Posted by: Diffus at October 22, 2011 08:26 PM (zIytl)

69 Go  Cards!  Maybe the TX fans will feel a little better knowing they witnessed a historic hitting display.  Okay, maybe not. Just sayin' ...
Who's the idiot who threw the ball out onto the field? Representin' Texas well.

Posted by: Cornfed at October 22, 2011 08:31 PM (879Ga)

70 Yes, I'm in STL.

I'm originally from Grapevine, TX so I have some divided loyalties.

Cowboy fan, Cards fan and Blues fan.

Left Tx in 1984 for the USAF so it's not like I'm a 'band-wagonner'.

Posted by: phat at October 22, 2011 08:32 PM (0Yh0e)

71 I live in Maryland Heights.  Grew up in central IL.  Cards and Blues fan also.  Packers in football, parents are from upper michigan which is more connected to WI than anything.  I go to most of the weekend Blues games.  They picked up a nice win tonight too!

Posted by: Dave S. at October 22, 2011 08:39 PM (UvR6d)

72 Off to bed. The wife is running in the STL Rock and Roll marathon tomorrow and I will show up at some point to be moral support.

Big picture: 64% of all registered runners are female. They tend to be hotter than average. I have a four hour window to drink and ogle.

Posted by: phat at October 22, 2011 08:40 PM (0Yh0e)

73 Phat, my brother's house is along the marathon route, I offered to let him spend the night here, since his street will be blocked off. Now I know why he refused. Oh, and Albert Pujols...

74 Never thought I'd see a WS performance that topped the Reggie bar won in Chavez Ravine in 1978. This one did just that. How did Dave DO this - throw out quiet arguably the most moronic pre-game bird in the history of the game? I mean, can anyone here come up with a face-plant that even APPROACHES this one? The blog thread own-goal to end all blog thread own-goals. Really, Ace has to insist Dave do the rest of this series posting a merciless ego-pummel on the poor sap who thereafter proceeds beat the other team's pitching like a mildewed carpet with Dave's face on it. Do you catch the post-game? A reporter was telling Pujols he'd tied not just Jackson but Babe frickin' Ruth (who did it twice), just with the homers; & he tied two other guys for most RBIs, and another guy for most hits ... then he stuck the mic in Luis' face: "It's an honor to be named in the same category as those guys. And I don't want to forget a big shout-out to Dave In Texas, who, honestly, whenever I'm playing real bad, feeling in the dumps, I can count to blow out some Grade A trash talk that inspires me to beat on the opposing pitchers like a bull going berserk trying to get at that annoying little pipsqueak of a flaming matador." ** (** Actual quote - the first sentence, at least.)

Posted by: Rex the Wonder God at October 22, 2011 08:53 PM (vahvH)

75 This sucked.  I live a couple of miles from teh ballpark... some buddies txt'd me and said they were tailgaiting the game with food, beer and TV in the parking lot and to come out.  I got there in the 3rd inning.

Had a great time with friends, just outside the ballpark, but heh... it sucked ass losing the way we did.  Go Rangers.... revenge on Sunday...   and I've a got a ticket to the game tomorrow...  upper deck... so I'll be there to root us on to an even series again.  Damn... tonight really sucked..
