— Ace Still not confirmation...
A Republican campaign veteran tells us that Texas Governor Rick Perry has decided to run for President, though the official word from Team Perry is still a definite maybe. Our normally reliable Republican source reports that Mr. Perry has surveyed the field and decided to get in the race later this summer, perhaps around the time of the national prayer meeting that Mr. Perry is hosting on August 6 at a Houston football stadium. Our source also reports that Mr. Perry is aiming to compete in the Iowa Straw Poll, even though it occurs just a week later, on August 13. The thinking is that apparent front-runner Mitt Romney "does not reflect the Republican Party" and is therefore vulnerable to a credible challenge from the right, especially after Mr. Romney's recent squishy remarks on global warming.
Yeah, I don't know about waiting so long, but whatever.
Pretty much everything Perry does is consistent with a run, from talking to Giuliani (and, hear tell, Wall Street money-men), and checking out the lay of the land in New Hampshire.
Bryan Preston wonders why Politico is relying upon bottom-feeding wannabe-political-hatchet-man no-account no-name nobody blogger Mike Stark, who could not possibly know anything about this, as a background source for its Perry rumors article.
I'm trying to get comment from Ben Smith on Twitter, but he's just deflecting, not denying. I don't know if he knows the answer or not (it wasn't his article).
Meanwhile -- and I admit, this looks bad -- Rick Perry's red Prius was recovered by state troopers, abandoned at a highway rest stop.
Clarification: Some people aren't sure if the set-up for the joke is real or not -- about the Red Prius being discovered.
That's fake too. I'm making this all up, because I wanted to play the clip of the "Soup Kitchen."
Perry, I'm sure, does not drive a Prius, or else maybe I'd have to take these rumors more seriously.

I'm glad to see there is more than one person willing to hit Obama hard, defend American exceptionalism instead of apologizing for it and acknowledging that the left hates (not 'disagrees with,' but hates) conservatives and pandering to them is self-defeating.
The 2012 election will be about choice. The eventual nominee is not nearly as important as the American people telling Obama and the left that we do NOT choose socialistic policies. We do NOT support unending bailouts, paying our debts with monopoly money and saddling our grandchildren with back-breaking debt. We do NOT choose a government which makes all of our decisions regarding education, employment or charity.
We choose freedom.

Well, you know how this goes. He forms exploratory committees, collects staff, etc. and is already running before he officially announces.
You watch, he'll do this the way Fred Thompson should have. He'll basically parachute into Ames as the only candidate with charisma, conservatism and credentials. (Yes, the three "c"s, you can use that.) He'll bash Obama and Romney, Pawlenty will be ignored and Bachmann will come in second.
BTW, some word on the ground here in Iowa: Pawlenty is spending serious money. I've seen several TV ads and have gotten a mailer.
Pawlenty wants to win that straw poll.

Reagan left the democrats in 1962. Perry left in 89. Like I said just a cause for concern, not a dis-qualifier.
Reagan left the Democrat party 14 years before he ran for president and 18 years before being elected. Perry left the Dems 22 years ago. Reagan was around 50 years old when he left, Perry was around 40 years old. IMO it's also a bonus because the hardcore left took control of the Democrat party in the 80s and Perry can make the same claim that Reagan made: he didn't leave the Democrat party, the party left him.

Be that as it may, but I was referring to your name:
On a knotted pile carpet (formally, a supplementary weft cut-loop pile carpet), the structural weft threads alternate with a supplementary weft that rises at right angles to the surface of the weave. This supplementary weft is attached to the warp by one of three knot types (see below), such as shag which was popular in the 1970s, to form the pile or nap of the carpet.

At the same time, her endorsement is a leash. Although she's loyal to a fault (see McCain, John 2010 primary), it also implies a fealty to limited government by which the endorsee will be pressured to abide.
And, frankly, the "I don't think she's qualified to be President" crowd is quickly morphing into the "I just hate her no matter what she does" crowd.

With so many candidates, I am beginning to think that we will not have a clear candidate until the convention.
Speaking as a Texan and a Texas Aggie, I think Perry is more conservative than people realize. I believe he has done some things because of political expediency. For example, he had to get along with the Bushes as he was moving into the governorship. Since then, in my opinion he has grown more confident in being himself.
Currently the mood of the country is we want a rip snorting conservative to carry it to Obama. I think Perry will fit the bill. I also think people are willing to overlook past sins if he gives the political atmosphere of the country a huge yank to the right. I believe that Perry realizes that this is what people want, and he is ready to be that guy. Even if he is only 85 percent sincere in doing that, I can live with that.
In the end, no one is going to be as conservative as I would like for them to be.
