Yeah, I'd say the term fits like a glove brass knuckles. Keep stepping on your dicks, you Newspeakers.

You can take this both ways, I guess. If the federal government really were like a family -- my family, say -- it would have demanded that I do well in school or else taken away privileges; it would have cut me off from "federal" funds when I got out of college and demanded that I get a job; it would have hectored me throughout my twenties and early 30s to get a better job and make more money; it would have told me that I was a loser if I didn't get married and would have stigmatized and ostracized me if I had children out of wedlock; it would have demanded that I go to church; it would have expected me to give to private charity but to expect and take none in return; it would have cared a lot less about political correctness and a lot more about appropriate, old-fashioned, gentlemanly behavior. In other words, it would be a whole lot more "judgmental," and a whole lot less of a source of unlimited funds, because my "federal family" would have long since taught me that money doesn't grow on fucking trees.
I'm just sayin'.

Yep - the total debt is again over the ceiling, which means the US debt increased by $400 billion in one month.
$400 billion.
One Month.
Let that sink in for a bit.

ZeroHedge: Deja Vu All Over Again: Total US Debt Passes Debt Ceiling... In Under One Month Since Extension
Total debt is over the ceiling but the portion of debt that's subject to the ceiling isn't. Give it another couple of weeks.

They stole the term investment for wasteful spending when spending was no longer trendy
Now they are trying to steal family. Of course, with what they have already done to family values, this might not be the wisest thing to do.

I know you don't really want to admit this but you really f**cked up. I hope that much is clear.
Now, don't go sulking. All we're really asking for you to do is refrain from voting for the next decade or so. We'd like you to use the time you would have normally spent thinking about voting to be used for reading.
You're going to start with Basic Economics and work your way through the Federalist Papers before moving on to advanced concepts like "taxation does not lead to prosperity," and "dependency upon the Federal government is bad for children and other living things." Maybe you'll have enough time to study "the world is full of bad people who want to hurt us and take our shit" or "creating a law for every circumstance does not make for a safer society."
Put down the laptop, turn off the TV, and get to the library.
Oh, and Althouse, an apology wouldn't kill ya.

I takes PARENTS to raise a child. You know the class of people the government actively discriminates against and provides every incentive for people to have no part of. Not to mention the crusade by academia and media to destroy parental roles since the 1920s.

You seriously expect them to spend a whole two minutes reading? Put it in a 30 second commercial and maybe they'll pay attention all the way to the end.

They're all together ooky, the Federal Family
Their house is a museum, when people come to see-em
They really are a scre-um the Federal Family
(spoken: Neat, sweet, petit!)
So get a witch's shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on
We're going to make a call on the Federal Family
