1 Dead, Several Hurt In School Shooting At Oakland Religious University

Actually, it's a combination "School of Theology" and "School of Asian Medicine," which, checking the website, seems to mean acupuncture.

As I read that back to myself, it sounds snarky. It's actually not meant to be. I mention it to note why you probably haven't heard of "Oikos University."

This report says that five people were hurt. One is dead (per FoxNews, broadcast), so I imagine this means that four more are hurt, at last count.

5 Oikos seems to be Korean-themed. http://www.oikosuniversity.org/ is slow in loading today, but its theology department has this: "Develop an appreciation for the Korean and Korean-American Church denomination and rich cultural and religious heritage."

So it is a christian school. No word, of course, on the religion or lack thereof of the shooter.

latest info is 10 shot, 7 dead. the school mainly teaches 'christian-centered' nursing and is affiliated with a local korean church. the suspect, currently under arrest, is korean.

that this tragic event is cause for snarky comments and asian stereotype 'jokes' here goes beyond common decency. what is wrong with you folks? these were good people who were trying to better their lives with education and they were gunned down in cold blood. if it had involved you and yours, you would not find the situation so hilarious.
