ABCNews/WaPo Poll Has D+9 Skew, & Romney Ahead
— Ace

47-46, which is MoE, of course, but that's with a D+9 skew. It's a poll of adults, though I think they restrict the head-to-head question to registered voters.

What it's not is a likely voter poll.

The Post-ABC survey highlights the dominance of the economy as an issue in the 2012 election. Seventy-two percent of voters say the president’s handling of the economy will be a “major factor” in their vote this November.

Fewer voters place great significance on other issues that have roiled the campaign, including newly minted GOP vice presidential candidateÂ’s plan to restructure Medicare, differences between the parties on womenÂ’s issues and RomneyÂ’s handling of his tax returns.

Among registered voters, Obama has a 47/50 approve/disapprove rating on job performance. Why the Wapo even bothers to report the numbers for All Adults, I don't know. Will All Adults be voting in this election?

Gabe mentioned this in the Headlines Post, but it's pretty sweet: Michigan is now deadlocked.

Michigan is proving once gain to be a battle ground state. In the most recent poll, Romney and Obama are tied at 47% with 3% voting for someone else and 3% undecided.

Just ten days ago, Obama led Romney by 5% (49%-44%). The race was tied in Mitchell Polls conducted in June (June 18, 2012) when Obama led 47%-46% and one month ago (July 24, 2012) when Romney led 45%-44%.

The Media... is meanwhile pushing the idea that the wheels have fallen off the Romney Bus and he's in desperate need of a "reboot."

Tied in polls (really ahead), and he's the one who has to remake himself. Not The Precious, of course.

When you filter for "likely voter" people who bother to vote --skew Republican--not Democrat. So this is an unbelievably good result for Romney. (I have to go look at it.)

Among registered voters, Obama has a 47/50 approve/disapprove rating on job performance.

So what we can glean from this is that registered voters, as a whole, are idiots.  Am    I right?    How can     that    approval rating be so close    to a tie?   How can   Bammy's    approval numbers not be in the 20%'s?   It's mind-boggling.

Of course,     "All Adults" are MORE idiotic as a whole, but since most adults wouldn't know    the difference between a "ballot" and a "ballet," we can safely ignore them.     Registered voters have at least taken the effort to register, even if they aren't planning to vote.   How on earth can they be so stupid?

Don't answer that.  It's too depressing.

Vote fraud.  Lots of vote fraud.  Remember the small handful of cities that had more votes than residents in the past elections?

It won't be a small handful this time.  If he does it and wins, the DOJ will tamp down any complaints of vote fraud.  If its not enough and he still loses, he don't give a shit because its some other schmucks who'll be going to prison over it.

Business- outside of Detroit- is positively booming (well, relatively speaking), and even Detroit is getting a little better.  My not-quite Yooper in-laws* (most of whom are completely apolitical) even realize that the difference is the fact that Republicans are in office.

123 Vote fraud in cities like Philadelphia does not have much of an impact in a national election unless the State is in a close election.  That may be true this time for PA, but in the past PA has always gone blue by a wider margin than vote fraud can possible explain.

Now vote fraud in large cities of OH and FL can have an impact, which is why the Democommies fight voter ID so assiduously.

You don't need media polling to know that Obama is in deep doo doo.  Just   watch the ways in which the media behaves.  Keep in mind the entire liberal   media has access to the internal, i.e., actual, polling data.  If Obama was ahead   the media of course still would be pushing their agendas but the tone  would be a lot different.  They'd be at level 7 instead of already ginned up to     11.  I suspect if the election were tomorrow that Romney would win   the Electoral College, albeit very narrowly.  But the key point is that the   media-Democrat complex is like a cornered, wounded animal.  It's extremely   dangerous.  It will take a herculean effort to win this election.  Conservatives   need to grow up, to put down their litmus tests, to forget about their messages,   and to get off their arses and actually vote.  The rest should take   care of itself.

What's serious is that the actual vote isn't going to matter unless its so overwhelming it overcomes the MOF.

The US electoral process is more systemically compromised by fraud than some 3rd world countries.   Even a brand new nation like Iraq managed to execute an election that had more vote integrity than our elections do (for the ones who managed to actually to the polls in IRaq)

Wow, purple finger dye to prevent double voting...what a revolutionary concept!!!  We can't even get the Democrats to agree that vote integrity is necessary.

Rasmussen had the same number on Monday after the Aug jobs report....where Obama was 47/44 go check it out....that was about 2.5 weeks ago....over the weekend that always happens because you poll more Dems over the weekend....a trend...are you kidding....of 27 days Mitt has been ahead 22 of them....Weekend days are Obama's best but that happens each week....the three point was the same on the 6th of Aug and look at Ras little spiel...he says the same thing everytime..."the three point lead is the largest for the President since May" he needs to adjust that....it was the same on Aug 6th of Aug...LOL!!

Gallup has Mitt up by one over Obama...Ras has been off the last few days.  He had Obama up in MO yet the next day Mason-Dixon had Mitt up by 7 over Obama in MO.  Sounds to me that Rasmussen is off on his polling because he is going the opposite of everyone else...sorry...

167 I'm thinking Colorado will be one of those that Romney takes yet strangely you won't be able to find a single person in the Denver area that voted for him..

168 Gallup has Mitt up today as well.....Rasmussen is becoming an outlier more and more...Scott needs to get with it!

169 >>>If we take CO, we are sure as hell taking VA. NC is over. Rmoney.

I've been saying for a couple of months now that Romney was looking very good in Colorado.

It wasn't just idle speculation or me pulling stuff out of my ass.

I know what kind of organization they're putting together, and the demographic they're playing for.  I predict a win by 4-5% or so.

Virginia is a far different proposition.  The Romney GOTV game there (in Northern VA at least) is building into something utterly terrifying in its size and coordination, but it's still going to be a hell of a fight.  I've swung around so much on the state since 2011, from thinking it was probably a lost cause to thinking that we're ever-so-slightly favored now, especially because the guys running the show on top are data-mining freaks who never, ever, ever seem to sleep...and that's in July and August.  By contrast, the Obama effort in NoVA feels slightly moribund.  It's formidable, don't doubt it, but it's largely built on the skeleton of the 2008 effort, and it isn't a great fit with the current demographic he needs to target in 2012.

I will be surprised if Romney carries WI or MI.  Not *VERY* surprised, but surprised.

Oh, and a little birdie (several little birdies, really) told me that the state of play in New Hampshire is significantly more favorable to Romney right now than any public polling has shown.  I'm expecting him to carry the state.

170 In a few weeks, they'll be bawling like bitches over how he's outspent poor, modest little Obama.

Yep, in 2008, when obama was spending money like a hip-hop mogul, it was way cool.  No worries about all the money the Arab street was dropping on him or other campaign illegalities.  He was the Man of New Millenium, President of the World (POTOW) , so it was just wonderful because the world would finally love us.  What we got was President of the Golf Cart/B'Brackets/Money Launderer Supreme and Chief Naptaker.

I'm in Philly. Ther Dems are very upset abut the voter ID law. They can't afford to run the numbers up too high, everyone is watching and the state would love nothing better than to provide the proof of voter fraud that the ACLU said doesn't exist. Couple that with the trade union anger at the UE rate and the "red" trend in the Philly 'burbs.

 Romney takes PA almost comfortably.

172 The other thing about PA is Big Coal.  Obama essentially ripped off its head and pooped down its neck on behalf of the enviro-weenies.  People with no hope other than the coal mines and he wants that shut down.  I am surprised that in any coal producing state he is not down 5-20 points depending on how much coal is mined.

175 I'm seriously worried about massive voter fraud, power grab or some kind of manufactured scandal that somehow puts Our Dear Leader back in the White House.

Barring that, I can't imagine Romney will lose any swing/battleground state, and he'll probably win Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan as well.

But I'm still terrified of what a post Nov. 6 President Obama will do.

SB,

Yes, you should be. I'd say if the JEF wins every gun and ammo manufacturer in the country is going to be selling everything they can possibly shove out the door--right up to the time JEF issues an EO making it illegal.

Want some really bad news? Rasmussen has the JEF up. God help us, we live in a country half-full of total fools.

178 "Seventy-two percent of voters say the president’s handling of the economy will be a “major factor” in their vote this November." That's funny, because I thought the only major factor in people's vote this November was going to be "what did Todd Akin say and when did he say it." Let them eat hype! Anyways, a lot of these people must be lying, because I doubt Romney will get 72% of the popular vote. Though who knows...

179 "Fewer voters place great significance on other issues that have roiled the campaign, including ... RomneyÂ’s handling of his tax returns." How dare these unsophisticated rubes not care about such a sophisticated and important topic?!?!

180 "Among registered voters, Obama has a 47/50 approve/disapprove rating on job performance." 47% of people are afraid of being called "racist!!!!1" (or are racists.) "Why the Wapo even bothers to report the numbers for All Adults, I don't know. Will All Adults be voting in this election?" Probably. All adults, including those who have been dead for a while.

181 "The Media... is meanwhile pushing the idea that the wheels have fallen off the Romney Bus and he's in desperate need of a "reboot."" That's funny, because the media is in desperate need of a boot up its ass.

182 #135 if you're still reading, I've been traveling Route 16 from the Seacoast to N. Conway on a weekly basis... plenty of Republican and Romney signs, not one Obama sign...
