There will be numbers.
There will be morons.
There will be maps.
Live Results and Calls for the House, Senate and Presidential races.
This is why I haven't been around much. Well, besides "reacting" to the Pennsylvania and Minnesota and Michigan and Oregon developments.
Anyway, back to making the sausage...

Sean requests a thread where depressed morons can arrange local meet-ups to drink their worries away, and celebrate the fact that President Barack Hussein Obama will give them each, Oprah-like, a brand new ca-aarrrr!
Good idea. Having gone to a few of these myself, they're awesome. I don't even like talking politics at them -- but simply talking with like-minded souls is very enjoyable.....
It doesn't take much, really. Just a date, a time, and a bar that serves decent hooch and which is kinda quiet so you can talk, and big enough that an influx of 15-25 people isn't going to cause hassles.
Here's some video from the last Moronapalooza. It was pretty fun. Slightly creepy, and I could have done without the sexualized Satanism, but fun.

Ha! In other news:
"Since 2011, 244 of ChicagoÂ’s 681 schools failed at least one inspection, according to a review of city health department inspections by the 2 Investigators. ThatÂ’s 35 percent with at least one failed inspection."
Some of the violations include no hot water in bathrooms, rodent infestations, mice droppings in food, food kept at unsafe temperatures, a live snake stuck to glue paper in the kitchen, etc. This is from the city that gave us Barry and the Mooch. Oh well, at least the kids are being served vegetables they aren't eating and schools are limiting portion sizes, so less rat droppings per serving.

I feel your pain. Living in King County, my community is a lost cause. Although, I'm still holding out hope our Republican Attorney General can win the governorship. (Although, watching that get stolen from us in 2004 makes me rather skeptical). Today, I heard an ad for him, though, that was an endorsement from our Democrat state auditor. He also has our paper of record's endorsement. (The liberal Seattle Times). It just goes to show you how bad the Democrat candidate, Congressman Jay Inslee is.

There's a PAC running ads for Romney here in MA. Right now, they seem to outnumber the ones for Choom Boy.
It's full-saturation now, as we get nonstop -- and back-to-back -- Ads for Brown and Lieawatha Warren too. Plus some for NH and, occasionally, CT.
It has made me thoroughly sick of the whole mess. The misrepresentations and bullshit have gotten deeper than the post-Sandy debris.

Obama will continue his campaign in his FEMA administrator role, hoping that lifts him up. They will try to use that to their advantage ("never let a crisis go to waste"). I don't think it's going to help him, and when he makes those smirky comments about not leaving anyone behind, well---there are alot of us out here really angry about Benghazi so that kind of comment is like salt in the wound. When a police officer is shot in the line of duty, and he or fellow officers radio in saying "Officer down! Officer down!" and they give their location and they identify their assailants and they call for help, do the dispatchers at Police HQ do a fact-finding investigation to gather more information, or do they immediately send officers to assist at the scene?

So who's ready for the performance of a lifetime tomorrow by obama? I wonder if he can work up some real tears? I know I'm being snarky and I'm not making light of this disaster, but from what I've read obama thinks this will win him some votes...
I think Obama thinks that this is a winning campaign tactic because of how the left (especially the MFM) excoriated Bush on his handling of Katrina. He really believes that Bush screwed the pooch on it too, although the bungling was mainly on the state and local levels. The thing with Obama though, is he is a horrible actor. He can't fake real tears like BJ Clinton, and he really doesn't have an ounce of warmth or empathy in him. He thinks if he is seen looking engaged and photo-opped with first responders and those doing the clean-up, it's going to give him that last boost to the finish line he needs to win.
He obviously is completely unconcerned about Benghazi because his butt boys in the MFM aren't talking about it, and the Hurricane has completely taken over the news cycle.
It will be interesting to see if NYC doesn't get their power back on soon and their subways running el quicko, if the natives start to loot and riot on a grander scale. It will also be interesting to see if Barry gets any of the blowback or if Nanny Bloomberg and Governor Cuomo get some heat from the populace.

People get hung up on a Category Number when the millibar pressure number is equally as important. Maybe even more important. Low pressure lifts water. Most homes along the NJ coast have incurred first floor damage. Not ruined, but expensive to repair.
Al Gore thinks that the oceans have risen because of global warming which is why homes got messed up.
Joe Bastardi thinks that Al Gore is a dumbass and directs him to look at the millibar pressure reading from 1938. Which I suppose was the high point of 426 hemi-powered SUV's. (snark)
The Democrats will be searching for any avenue to make a Hurricane something that wins them votes. This is history repeating itself, folks. Be ready for it.
Please be ready to laugh in the face of people like this and arm yourself with actual science. End lecture. I apologize for the o/t but I didn't get much sleep last night.

Makes me wonder what kind of jobs they are looking to fill that would require males. Window smashers? Tire slashers?
They're Democrats. Everyting is looked at through a race/class/gender filter. They're probably desperate to up their support from men, so they figure male volunteers would have a better chance of talking blue collar-type guys on their call lists into holding their noses and pulling the lever for Barry. I think they're wasting their time, but guy volunteers would probably be more likely to succeed at this than female, twenty-something, feminist lit grad student volunteers.

We had an evacuation order here today for homes up to 3 blocks away from the lakefront, although I hear they may have called that off now. 25 foot swells on Lake Michigan this afternoon. I'm 2 miles inland so it did't affect me. Very odd, since we haven't had any rain and it's not all that windy really. Supposed to have gusts up to 35 miles per hour tonight and tomorrow but that's not really that high. No damage at all that I can see, but I haven't been down to the marina today.

Rationally speaking, of course, that's true. But many liberals are convinced that GAY MARRIAGE! And ABORTION! (sorry, REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS!) are on the line.
Sometimes I wonder how many of them are really convinced that Romney is a radical social conservative monster, and how many know very well (even as they hyperventilate) that they're bullshitting.
I do think you have a point. On the blogs I frequent where there are liberals/ Dems, many of the more honest/ intelligent ones are resigned to, even at peace with, the prospect of a potential Romney victory. Some have even let slip that that might, maybe, perhaps, be a better outcome.
One thing that might be worth doing this last week: encouraging potential "Romney Democrats" (on the model of "Reagan Democrats") to vote for Romney. Seriously, being a "Reagan Democrat" was and is nothing to be ashamed of, on the contrary, it was/ is something to be proud of: those Democrats were vindicated by history. To be "Reagan Democrat" (and maybe "Romney Democrat") should be a badge of honor.
Benghazi, and Obama's fundamental fecklessness/ unseriousness as a POTUS and CIC, may be compelling enough reasons for those (somewhat rational, intelligent) Dems to cross party lines on this election. Or at least not vote Obama.
(NB With what distaste-- "regret"!-- Richard Cohen says he'll vote for Obama. You know, I think it's possible-- at least possible-- that a Mark Halperin, among other MSM usual suspects, will vote Romney. They won't report Benghazi etc.-- but they're aware of it.)
