Adam Carolla Joins FoxNews
— Ace

He'll be on O'Reilly on Mondays, and other spots on other shows as they need a guest.

He's a funny guy. For years I was missing Howard Stern, but I think I like Carolla better. Not just politically (though he is a libertarian-leaning conservative; he doesn't know he's a conservative -- he thinks what he's saying is just "obvious common sense" -- but he doesn't understand there's an entire political movement devoted to repudiating obvious common sense).

In addition to being funny, he's frequently just an interesting critic and contrarian, and conducts good interviews.

Here's a stunt he started (though his fans carried it further). He hates the injection of passionfruit into everything. He doesn't want passionfruit iced tea; he just wants iced tea. And he's sick of restaurants asking him, "Is passionfruit iced tea okay?"

Well no. It's not.

Realizing that the only way to get your way in America is to gin up a hysterical health crisis scare, he has created a crusade to end deaths due to allergic reactions to passionfruit (something that doesn't seem to exist, but who cares).

So let's finally put an end to Passionfruit Allergies and the thousands of deaths they are not suspected to cause.

Come on, it's kind of funny.

passionfruit.jpg

Anyway, his podcast is free on iTunes. It's primary value is for housework and cooking and exercising/walking. Stuff like that.

Oh, and driving, of course.

If you have to do such things, throw on the podcast, so you're at least listening to something funny.

Thanks to Stuiec.

I am a Republican who is concerned about the party and those on this blog who refuse to accept reality. Of course I want Obama to lose, though he has done as well as can be expected given the disaster he inherited, but it's time to face facts. This insistence that the polls are skewed is yet more ammunition for those who, sadly accurately, believe that the Right does not believe in science. Why, cause if they keep it in Mitt would be ahead in their EC tally.

I think eating oysters started off as a joke -- hey, let's pretend we're in the middle of a famine, starving to death, and are resorting to eating bugs, undigested food in cow dung, and scraping snot out of those oyster rocks. I took my honeymoon in the Caribbean, and got my first taste of the real thing. On the east coast, we only get passionfruit flavored cocktails, filled with apple juice.

Well, I grew up in VA and dad would bring back raw oysters from the river on our farm. I thought they were disgusting.  Then he made oyster stew, milk, butter  and oysters.. YUM.

Now a good salty oyster fresh out of the bay is the best.

143 Steamed or deep-fried is the way to go

The wife likes a bed of spinach, then flounder, then shrimp and oysters, mixed with chopped onion and peppers, a little garlic, then cheese and breadcrumbs. Bake for about 40 minutes.

She had it once in Chincoteague, Virginia and insisted I reverse-engineer the recipe for her. I'm not a big fan of oysters any other way. I think the first guy to eat a raw oyster gets the prize for being the bravest man in the world.
