— andy Very nice words from Gabe below. Very nice.
But as a high-income-a/k/a-1%-American who has never cheated on his taxes before, I have another message.
Fuck. You.
I've been paying AMT for, oh, five years now: 28% marginal on a lower base plus a state rate of 5.3%. The "Bush Tax Rates" that Obama talks about ... oh, wait. He forgot about the AMT. He made out like the "rich" were paying ridiculously low tax rates.
Well, if you're "rich" and still earn a living from real work and happen to live in a high wage/high tax state, this isn't the case at all. You've been paying the AMT too.
So welcome to your red-state tax increase, folks. Your blue-state brethren voted that you should be taxed more. And they're right! As it goes, anyway.
Because this folly won't fall on me. I'm at a high enough rate as it is. And the incentive to cheat just went way up. The IRS charges a much lower interest rate than I'd ever have to pay from holding "the government's" money for a while, so my income model just got another line called "tax float".
Arbitrage, 99%ers, do you speak it?
You like your big government, assholes? Pay for it. But I'll have a chair when the music stops.
I encourage all similarly-situated Americans to do the same.
You idiots that reelected Obama, and elected Warren and the like, can't vote yourselves an infinite slice of my wallet. I'll always be one step ahead of you.
A large amount of money will be moved to offshore tax havens between now and 12/31. Also, watch dividend-paying stocks. A ton of money's about to be distributed in advance of the return-to-Boooosh!!11! tax rates plus the new Obamacare tax on investment income.
Oh, and it's my birthday. Instead of spending it happily effing off, I'll spend it moving money. Point. Click. Done. So, happy.
Also, FWIW, Dow futures are down ~100 points on "hope" as I write this.
[Update] Apologies if this is too ranty. I'm just pissed at the idiots that are stealing my hard-earned money.

You probably can't.
I work in healthcare, and there is just no way to hide income.
The only thing I can say is, that if you work for a small company. . .or you're a professional and have the ability to self-incorporate, look into a cash-balance retirement plan. This lets you sock away a huge amount of money in a tax-advantaged pension plan that works a bit like an IRA.
So, you squirrel the money away now pre-tax, and hope to take it out later at a better tax bracket.

Low-income: Their nominal taxes will (probably) not go up. But watch for inflation, which is the "hidden tax" and actually hits the entitled classes (from welfare to those on SS Retirement and Medicare the worst. All in all, those with low incomes have less "wiggle room" to make ends meet, and they'll be the first to enter Thunderdome.
Middle Class/High income: Their nominal taxes are going up. It's going to suck. However, most of these people (not all- and I'm one of the "not all) have more wiggle room. The ability, as Andy says, to Go Galt.

Democracy isn't working for us anymore and has often been said, the Constitution isn't a suicide pact.
If you don't want to be the North American Venezuela, you have to resist the progressive tide. You have to use their own tactics against them. They weren't always the majority, but by being ruthless and aggressive, they seem to have become so. That's because so many are weak and follow whoever seems strong and reassuring.
We lost the election, but elections are not the only tactic of politics. If we give in to despair now, they will use this moment of weakness to usurp even more power.
They ran on "vote with your lady parts."

Andy is NOT alone.
The people around Obama and the left wing junta that seized the Democratic Party have little understanding of how to create wealth, but they do know how to loot it. All that Obama and his acolytes have ever done is to have received their cut of the swag from taxpayers.
When the money stops coming, they will try to unleash the IRS on small businesses.
But what if there are fewer small businesses around to unleash the IRS on? Eventually, the statist runs out of money to loot.
I have always believed that the racialist component of the Democratic coalition depended on a steady supply of looted money to keep it going. When the loot stops coming in, and the checks stop showing up, and Atlas finally Shrugs, that coalition will collapse.

No, I'm pissed that they're also borrowing on my future income at an unsustainable rate, and over half of Americans seem to be ok with that as well! WTF? Are Americans truly as stupid as others believe? Do we truly not realize what Obama [bernanke] printing money will do?
I'm pissed that Obama will devalue our currency, and I'm even more pissed that he has the ability to write executive orders to hamper businesses from making profits even more than he has already done. And he will continue to use the EPA to destroy other companies and distort energy prices.

I'm coming to the same realization. My folks are both JFKennedy-type Democrats. They brought me up to be polite, hard-working, respectful, and not to ask for or take anything I can't earn myself. They taught me that real work has intrinsic value, and that being proud of and happy with yourself is one of the most important things in the world.
The world, and certainly the left, isn't like that anymore. Taking from someone else is now something to be lauded, desired.
For all intents and purposes, I'm paycheck to paycheck. I don't live extravagantly, I have only a few vices (good scotch, for example), and don't live beyond my means.
For that, I've been punished by the American electorate, and it makes me fucking furious.
And after last night, I no longer have any recourse.

The problem (or difficulty) is that it is extremely hard now to get a bank account outside the US in the last few years, as FATCA has scared most big banks away from US citizens. BUT it still can be done. This is only going to get worse now. Small banks, dollar deposits, plus gold my friends.
Your biggest liability now is your US passport. I am not a doomsday prepper, just a realist. I am keeping my money, thanks, as I will never see a dollar of the $225,7722,02 that the SS admin has taken from me since I was 14.

Well said and I'm in the same situation. I have two neighbors who work seasonal jobs in the spring, summer, and fall, and then collect unemployment in the winter. The problem is that they work under the table jobs in the winter and do snow removal and cut firewood. Of course they are big Obama supporters and cannot be reasoned with in respects to being honorable and honest citizens. They feel entitled to cheat because they view the "rich" as somehow unfairly keeping them from becoming rich themselves. Unsurprisingly they cannot explain how someone else becoming rich keeps them down.
Well, my plan is to hold tight to the family, my values, and begin to stock up on food and the means to defend myself from my neighbors when the $hit hits the fan and they are looking to take from me.

America is dead. It didn't die last night. It passed away on election eve 2008. We just didn't know it then, though many of us suspected it. Election eve 2012 was just the wake up call for those of us in denial. Those of us grasping at the last fading glimmers of hope that this country could be righted one last time. Just as those in Great Britain killed their empire just after WWII by voting for socialism, we in America killed liberty by voting for Marxism in 2008.
Mitt Romney was correct. But it wasn't 47%, it was 50%. Or as de Tocqueville or somebody once said, when the majority learns that it can enrich itself by voting to take the property of the minority, then democracy dies. The Marxists in America have finally achieved their 50% solution.
Repent your sins, my fellow believers, and return to church and your God.

The democraps have already made a lot of noise about 'nationalizing' 401k's. Now that JEF has free reign to do pretty much anything he, and the left want....I don't think it will be very long until they bring this idea up again. They'll sell the idea as the govt assuming the role of managing those funds, and providing guarantees to contributors. The money will be taken, spent on the people that demand their monthly quotas of free shit, and the 401k 'lock box' will fill up with federal IOU's. Just like SS is today.

I envy those of you who have the means to chuck it all and leave. Some of us are already ruined, unfortunately, and we're stuck here. Left active duty in 2006, sunk most of our savings into a house. Couldn't afford it after we both lost our jobs in 2008 and ended up working far shittier jobs for less money, and oh yeah added two mouths to feed along the way. Had to short-sell the house since its value absolutely cratered in the 4 years we owned it, losing our entire $20K down payment as well as being saddled with $10K to pay to the fucking PMI company. Living paycheck to paycheck, just barely keeping our heads above water. Had to cash out 401ks long ago, have only a couple of grand remaining in IRAs. Have a decent, secure, but not lucrative job with little hope for any significant salary increases in the forseeable future. Still paying off the ol' student loans. Feels like we're left with nothing, and now with the reelection of the miserable Marxist failure no hope of a revived economy to lift us out of the pit we're sinking into. It's getting harder and harder to drag myself out of bed in the morning. Much as I love my children I curse myself for ever wanting to bring them into this world. They will not have the wonderful childhood I had, and their future looks bleaker by the day. I'd give anything to be able to scrape together enough to escape, but that ain't happening - I can barely afford our rent and other bills, let alone save anything.
We're. So. Fucked.

We'll all keep getting up and doing what we do. Will we adjust some things? Of course. That's prudent and practical.
But talking about picking up and moving is awesome if you have a paid-for house that you can sell quickly, or live in an apartment with an expired lease. Or if you have a job to go to or a bunch of cash to sit on until you get a new job. Or no kids.
And good luck firing all your employees if you plan on living in the same town, or going to the same church every Sunday, or going to the same grocery store every week. People who you just kicked to the curb out of spite are great neighbors. Hope you like toilet paper in your trees every day and your car keyed every other day and your kids beat up when they walk down the street.
Everybody can't live in Switzerland.
Grow up. The Dems through everything they had into saving this man and a Senate majority. They got their wish. Barely.
The math is the math. We won almost everything else from the House on down. Obama has two choices. Do something useful or watch is all burn around him.
Gratuitously being a dick to the people in your immediate community, who in all likelihood if you live as I do in a conservative area, feel just like you, and voted just like you, doesn't help that process.
It just makes you out to be no more of an adult than the Occupy douches.

Two 2008 Obama states flipped Red: NC and Indiana.

Expect China's economy to blow up and have serious problems, SOON.
Expect us to continue to kick the can down the street and do nothing about the coming SS and Medicare explosion. We can only print money if someone will buy our bonds. China will stop buying them when their economy goes to hell, cause they won't have any money to buy them.
The defense sequester will happen. We can not afford to let Europe live off us without their contributions to NATO, which no country but us is fulfilling. That leaves us weak. Guess where that leads?
Five year before it all goes to hell. Remember the Weimar Republic?
Oh, have a nice day.

Will things be fudged and corners cut? Of course. But, for the very reasons you cited, nobody with any morality is going to just shut it down to be a dick for political reasons.

The funny thing....not in the 'ha ha' sense of the word though....is that it's statistically likely that some obama-phone free-shitters are going to get cancer. They'll find greasy lawyers. Large class action suits will be filed. They'll win, and the large companies that are providing that program with phones, and service, will be on the hook for billions and billions of dollars in damages. Those costs will be passed on to actual paying customers....who are the ones forced by the federal govt to fund that program.

The Republican Party gets 90% of its votes from Whites. What did Romney and Ryan specifically offer Whites? Relief from mass immigration? Relief from Affirmative action? An end to flash mobs, polar bear hunts and beat Whitey nights? Nothing?
How about nothing.
Obama ran as specifically anti-White campaign aimed at precise demographics. He put up an argument that he was best for each specific target group. Even if it was based on lies, it was an offer.
His supporters showed up.
Romney and Ryan did not offer anything. And do not talk about economic wonkery. This election shows that a single-focus economic platform is a loser.

America has just re-elected the most unqualified, incompetent, and dishonest President in her history. It won't get better from here on out. It will get worse, much worse. You can't spend 1trillion$ more than you have every year and last much longer. Socialized medecine doesn't work. Just look as all the examples in Europe and the Canuckistani's coming down here for treatments and operations. Socialism doesn't work. It never has and never will. They won't get it right "next time" or ever. Just name me one country it has been tried in that prospered. Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, Castro's Cuba, Mao's China, the killing fields of SE Asia? Even the soft socialism of Western Europe has failed and the bill is coming due before our eyes. Maggie Thatcher was right, you do eventually run out of other people's money.
The American people will learn a difficult lesson soon. As the Instapundit says, things that can't be sustained, won't be. In the next few years our financial system will collapse, seeing massive inflation and the dollar devalued. Huge tax increases in January 2013 and the now inoperable cancer that is Obamacare will just accelerate the process. Not only will the dream that is America perish, but with her Western Civilization.
You may think I am being too cynical. I say, go ahead and be a Dagny Taggart and slog away and help prop up a wicked, doomed system. I won't help. I will never vote again. I will not support financially those that brought down human kinds last, best hope. America. I will no longer support Hollywood, Broadway, GE, Viacom, HBO, the NFL, the NBA, MLB, the MSM etc etc. I hope they fail.
Those on the left gloating today should enjoy the triumph of their success to its maximum extent. We in the outerlands will suffer greatly in the future but so will the Obamanation's. They have not secured the paradise they envision in their minds. They have just created a new, fresh hell that they will discover firsthand. They have doomed their children,as well as ours, to a future of pain, suffering, and evil. I weep for America.

that's the bottom line. all the women's issues and gay rights issues things are a smokescreen. rationalization. they are lazy and want more entitlements.
-----
I think these issues are important in and of themselves. Many hispanics view attacks on illegal immigration as an attack on their precious culture. Calls for 'revenge' gets out the minority votes as many see the need to 'cut the majority down to size.'

Live in Milwaukee County and the wife and I are looking immediately to the north (Ozaukee) to find a new home for the family. If I can pull it off before the end of the year new tax rates kick into effect. Now its just a question of how far north we move.
Between the two of us I guess we're considered the filthy rich ($200K) but her business is reliant on people with disposable income frequenting higher end restaurants...we're assuming this will be the last year of true success.
Take this for what its worth. I'm not nearly as devout as my wife and get a little squeamish when she talks about harbingers and the trials. She is a very conservative catholic with very close friends within the Church...we were in St. Louis last month for a day of prayer with a close friend who is a priest and his order. He is a visionary and explained to everyone there that bad trouble is coming our way...the good thing is when it happens it will be quick, but the bad is it will be bloody. Waking up this AM I gotta say our further discussion about it spooked me.
Probably buying one more gun and lots more ammo...when the government starts stiffing the takers they'll simply cut out the middleman and come to us directly for their Obama money.
Good thing is I guess that all these cases of pudding I got will actually be needed for food...

It's STILL the economy, stupid. Ignoring the fiscal cliff doesn't erase it. "Let the Dollar Burn" isn't my choice.
Romney and the RNC did not and will not campaign for any bill that will provide oversight to thoroughly audit the Federal Reserve, let alone to constrict or remove the corrupt Fed.
Bush and the Republicans sold Americans TARP, the first of every corrupt bailout that ONLY benefits the so-called 1%. Bush executive ordered not simply Paulson's complete autonomy to prevent prosecution for COMPLETE FRAUD, but the autonomy of the Treasury Secretary.
Too many Republicans ramrod more authoritarian dictatorship and abuses of power and Democrats augment that corruption. Neither party campaigned to renew our Constitutional Republic, a pox on both parties. Given no transparency, "In God We Trust" nails our predicament -- God isn't the only entity recognizing how thoroughly corrupt our government is.
The Republican National Leadership refuse to support Constitutional Governance, refusing to recognize the legitimacy of We The People. Both parties function as parasites of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Barry's Stinky Britches @ 436:
Purchase a 'lower' from a local FFL for between $90 - $150 (therabouts), and you can assemble an AR for a lot less than those pre-assembled and taxed firearms on the wall.
For those with access to a drill press, and with a little skill in using it, you can purchase an incomplete lower....completely non FFL, completely legal. It will be shipped straight to your door. You'll have to mill out the trigger group slot, drill a couple holes, and they even sell the tool kits to complete the receiver.

Unelectable?
Romney was unelectable?
Turnout was DOWN. As Vic showed above.
Regardless of what was said, turnout was down. In Ohio, only 53% of the registered voters showed up. There was supposed to be a record of 66% show up yesterday. Didn't happen.
My polling place was not as busy as other years, and I chalked it up to "early voting" yesterday. Nope. People just didn't show, they didn't care. And I live in a pretty Republican suburban area of Columbus. People did not show up. Period. Full stop.
The country is screwed by the apathy of millions who will bitch about the results but just don't care to show up.
And the demographics and geography of elections is screwed for Republicans. When California, Illinois, Minnesota and New York are OFF THE TABLE before the campaign even starts (not to mention Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticutt, Vermont and Maine), then what can we expect?
Yeah, the Social Cons "killed us". If the Social Cons stay home in the next Presidential election, the Republicans might win ten states.
Vote buying by the New Deal/Square Deal/New Frontier/Great Society history of the last 90 years has killed us. To win, the Republicans have to get in a bidding war for goodies for every faction in America, and the Democrats are past masters at promising to give stuff away to buy votes.

I am very far from being in the 1% but I don't blame Andy one bit. At the other end, I'm tempted to go in the other direction - hey, I'm really depressed right now! Really, really depressed! Can I go on disability and stop working and get free shit from the government too? I know a woman, a big Obamabot, who stopped working 3 years ago. She's bi-polar (and a hypochondric - she's in to see some f'ing doctor about something just about every week). Now I understand that manic-depression is serious - but she's not great about taking her meds. And she is 53 and isn't even trying to get better or hoping to return to work. No, she's on food stamps, and lives in a very nice government subsized 1 bedroom apartment - for $275 a month. I live 2 blocks away - and pay $895 for a two bedroom. And it's a deal in this neighborhood. We were friendly at one point, but the last straw was when I ran into her in Whole Foods a few months ago. I work FT, only go into WF to buy bulk stuff like beans and flour, and she had a cartful of crap. Which she paid for with her EBT card. So, hey, what kind of fool am I, worrying about bills and rent and cutting coupons? Damn, maybe I should go on the dole and raise my standard of living too! Yeah, the money will run out, but shouldn't I get a nice big slice of that tasty government cheese too before it does?
I'm tired of being a sucker. Maybe I should play by their rules instead of mine.

The guy tells my friend "I still have to charge you for the trip out here", to which my friend simply replies "nope, not paying it, send the bill to obama" and shuts the door.
I laughed then, but I'm not laughing now.
In my personal life, If I have ever seen an obama sticker on your car or in your window, I'm done with you. If you owe me money, which incidentally I have been lending you interest-free out of the goodness of my heart, it just came due. I've got enough friends. I don't have it in me to be polite anymore. I no longer have the capacity to bite my tongue and quietly stare at the ice cubes in my empty glass while you go off on one of your statist rants. Those days are over.
And my small business? If I know you are an obama supporter, I'll still take your money. But rest assured I will do the absolute bare minimum that is humanly possible to avoid a lawsuit. I don't give extra effort for free anymore, that company policy just expired. You just told me loud and clear last night what taking pride in my craft is really worth to you.

Not ranty, Andy. Not ranty at all.
Things went well for me recently and I'm waiting on an offer, hopefully getting signed off on today, to join your tax bracket. It's been a long damn hike after getting out of grad school a few years ago with massive debt, required to join my once-lucrative niche if you're not a special person.
And I wonder: Why bother? I've busted my ass, and it's about to get much, much harder. If I can't keep the reward; if I'm going to be excluding myself from the freebie lines; if I'm going to pay down my student loans responsibly just so I can keep paying someone else's; if my wife an I live meticulously to facilitate the recklessness of others... why?
Outside of academia, I am a ground combat genius. I can run an infantry unit with the best of them. The hyperbolist in me thinks I should say "Fuck earning," go to 40 hour weeks, disregard my 8 years of university, and spend the balance in the gym. You can try to stay a step ahead, but nobody outruns the fire forever.
It might not be 2016, but by 2016 the path will likely be unavoidable. This system will fail, and you need an exit strategy, or at least a survival strategy, when it does. Dividend-bearing stocks will probably be irrelevant around the time that our public sector saviors take to the streets because their pension funds are empty or worthless.

Nevertheless, it is a stereotype and they believe it.
Conservatives have three options.
1) Cave- let it all burn.
2) Pander- Learn to play to the minorities' prejudices and pander to them. Then do what Democrats do- ignore them once you're in power and shove your policies through anyway.
3) File for Divorce- as many Conservatives as possible move to Texas and our surrounding states, and then secede (probably at a high cost in blood) from the Socialists.
Personally, I'm all for #3. That said, if you want to win elections, #2 is your short term answer.

A couple years back, my father-in-law, a left-wing Obama supporter, stopped working and "lost" his house. And by "lost" I mean he stopped paying for it but lived there a good year and a half before they kicked him out. Then, he lived with us for a year. He then cashed in his life insurance policy for a pittance (which probably means that when he dies, we'll get to pay for all of his funeral expenses out of pocket) and moved out. Then, because of smoking, he got a lung infection that nearly killed him. Didn't quit smoking though. Now gets disability and other benefits to the tune of $1200 a month (this was his big goal in life - to get on disability. I wish I were kidding). Not a ton of money, but enough for him to live off of (although with the price of cigarettes, I'm not sure how). Oh, and I should mention that he also had two sons, my wife's older half-brothers, that he played no part in raising and paid little or no child support.
This is what we're up against. It's not a simple issue of winning elections; it's getting people like this to get off their asses and quit sponging off of others. And for many, it's a losing battle. I think there's more people like this than ever before in this country.

Californians move here to escape California.
Then they support Democrats and expect different results.

I wish I could say the same - I'm still $20K in the hole on my pretty piece of paper in a nice frame, but unlike some people I have integrity and don't try to foist my debts on other people. I'd benefit quite a bit from student loan forgiveness, but I sure as hell hope it doesn't happen.

H Badger : I'm thinking about Ozaukee too. I'm on the East Side now, surrounded by dolts. If I were a younger woman I'd start looking at jobs in a red state, but I'm not. My family is here - half conservative and half lib. Believe me, I will certainly be the first to rub their noses in it when things go to shit. Last spring, right before the recall, I expressed my fears about the state and the country to a very conservative young priest. He said the country and culture are too far gone, terrible times are coming. But the results of the recall gave me hope that America was waking up. Nope.

One positive out of this entire debacle is that their is going to be some fun left-on-left fighting over the next few years. Think Rahm Emanuel vs. Chicago teacher's unions, for starters, and expand that across the country. Meanwhile, I'll be laughing my ass off and reaching for the popcorn.

Rock on buddy. You and I will be decent people who own up to our commitments, even if we're the last people to do so. I don't know about you, but I could have done just as well (or perhaps better) if I hadn't bought into all that hype about having the pretty piece of paper. But I was 18 and stupid...sigh.

Shit writing that out has further depressed me and did I mention its snowing here and the lights just flickered. When is it socially acceptable for Mornettes to start drinking?

Nope, no lib here. Both sides of my family were oddballs, as very Catholic Irish and Italian NY families who somehow ended up as staunch Republicans. I can remember my mom's father (the Irish side) telling me how he quit the KofC because he couldn't stand the way they all worshipped JFK, who he loathed and my dad's father (the Italian side) still spitting mad 40 and 50 years later because his neighborhood paisans kept voting for the communist Vito Marcantonio just because he was Italian. "Italian? Who cares, the son of a bitch was a Communist!!!" as he told me.
Out of the 12 that fled, only two uncles, one on each side, are Donks. One was corrupted by moving to California and the other is a political science professor, so both are easily explained.

Don't know. He lives in a small cabin. I can't imagine that his rent and utilities amount to much more than $500 a month, so he does have plenty to live on after that. And he does do some work here and there; he just has no intention of being a full-time employee. He's waiting until he can claim social security so that he can achieve his life-long goal of doing nothing.

(Hypothetically. . .for pure informational purposes, of course).
Get a Canadian citizenship. Renounce your US citizenship.
Then invest off-shore, and move out of Canada, but keep your Candian citizenship.
Canada still has sane tax laws. The rate is higher, but they don't tax you if you are not currently living in Canada, unlike the US where the IRS thinks you are still on the hook if you live abroad.
But do not move any cash until you are no longer a US citizen, otherwise the IRS will declare you a tax cheat and still a citizen, even if you have renounced.

One of the things I can't figure out about the left is why they have trouble with the idea that increased government funding for higher education along with guaranteed student loans have fueled the increases in tuition. Sure, it's a bit counter-intuitive (but not really that much when you think about), but what alternative theory do they have? That a bunch of greedy left-wing university administrators and faculty members are fleecing the students (there may be some truth to that, but I wouldn't expect lefties to believe that). Apparently, to the party of science and reason, tuition is just magically getting more expensive. Not much can be done, I guess, but have government pay even more.

Wild Ride Ahead: while I agree that Akin is a fool and Mourdock stepped in it, the bigger fools by far are the women who voted with their ladyparts. Planned Parenthood and abortion matters more to people than the fiscal cliff we're headed off.
Well, the youngsters will really need those abortions and BC, because it's not like they're going to be able to afford having children. Maybe that's good - they won't pass their stupid on to another generation.
I've regretted not having children. I don't now.

As the "Steward of Gondor" once said: "...RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"
To Do List 11/7/2012:
1. Order more ammo for existing guns
2. Buy more guns
3. Move additional funds offshore
4. Take down two ads for additional help in my business
5. Cancel Blue Cross Health Plan for remaining employees - send 'em into the Obama-care abyss. The savings will go to my heirs right now.
You can tell I am frustrated and angry - but I had this list made out weeks ago just in case. It's a matter of click click click....

Lessons learned in this election:
1. Keep social issues out of the discussion and off the table. How'd that work out for Akin, Mourdock and the dozens of state initiatives? They all went down in a heap of rubble. If a candidate mentions one social issue, drop 'em with no explanation and no apology.
2. 2014 Mid-terms Campaigning strategy = go negative, go nasty, go early. Shock the media with how blatantly nasty you can be. Rub their noses in every gaffe, every vote, every decision, and every 'Benghazi'. And when they scream 'foul', smile and kick 'em in the groin. Don't bring a gun - bring a bazooka to the knife fight.

I tweeted about this a bit this morning. Obamacare is going to lead to forced abortions: the whole concept is "don't waste community resources on the undeserving", and who deserves less than babies who are born imperfect, since they can't work in the gulag and support the collective?
After mandatory amniocentesis ("free prevenative care"!), the "right" to abort will become "encouraged" to abort; will become "all right-thinking women abort" will become law. It's the trajectory of the smoking bans, and same justification--your selfish insistence on exercising your non-existent "right" to give birth harms the collective, so they get to choose for you.
At some point, you watch the government kill the grandbaby your daughter *wanted* to mother...and you brought it on yourself, because you wanted free birth control.

Turning this into a stampede of people heading for the last lifeboat on the Titanic is not going to help.
Yes, we got punched in the teeth and kicked in the balls last night. This happens.
I assume few of you are Civil War historians, but I'm thinking of the Battle of Shiloh in 1862. Probably one of the bloodiest battles fought in the Western Hemisphere since Cortez took Tenochtitlan, but only surpassed that fall by Antietam in the Eastern Theater.
It was a bloody meatgrinder for the Federals that first day. Sherman went to find Grant that night. He found him standing out in the dark, under the shadow of the river bluff, smoking one of his ever-present cigars out in the rain.
Imagine that. Thousands of your men are wounded and dying within earshot over in the field hospital. It's dark and raining. You aren't sure where the rest of the enemy army is, or know if you have enough left to win the next day.
Sherman, usually a man of few words, said "Tough day today, Grant..."
The equally taciturn Grant puffed his cigar, then said "Yeah. Lick 'em tomorrow though."
We smeared the other side in '84, edged them out in '00 and '04. And the fuckers keep coming back. Pull it together. We'll lick 'em tomorrow. There's always a way.
Does this mean I don't suggest laying a few supplies by? No. Do I mean you should have some plans and training? Yes. Do I mean you should network with your friends for more than just vague ramblings about "the zombies?" Yes.
But we'll lick 'em tomorrow.

I'm a fan of history. History demonstrates time and again that nations will rise, become dominant and then ultimately go into decline. The arc of a nation... I've wondered on and off over the last 20 years or so where we were on that arc. I believe that last night we blew past the inflection point and are now on the decline. And we, the American people, made the conscious decision to do so.
I did not ever believe I would see it in my lifetime.
There are now more of them than there are of us.

I have been on the side that got up and went in to work, remained lawful, paid my taxes, and gave to charity. I must now modify that.
Realize that taxes are not money. Taxes are in reality are hours out of my life. The receivers of the dole are stealing my life. The receivers of free stuff are stealing my life. It is not about dollars, it is about hours out of my life........ So, until each and every adult in this country is getting up in the morning and contributing hours out of their life, we have 2 teams. Those that get their lives stolen and those that steal the lives.
My plan:
No longer buy products from blue states. Foreign if necessary but not blue.
No longer buy union made products.
No longer willingly socialize with libtards.
No longer give to any charities except maybe directly to those on my team that need it.
No longer subscribe to any media populated with libtards. (movies, NPR, news channels, etc)
No longer purchase products that are anti-american in deed. (I am making a list, any assistance will be appreciated).....maybe Ace can post it.
As we go over the cliff it is get serious time. It is time to choose sides.

I am angrier than I have ever been and I am determined to do all I can to never give Obama or his idiot voters one thin dime. No more spending on clothes, movies, restaurants, Starbucks coffee. No money to any charity that might give to Obama idiots. Pirating whatever I can to make sure leftist companies do not prosper. No more friendships with Obama idiots. They will reap what they have sown 100 times. I pursued the Hollywood dream for a while. Now I can't stand Hollywood and will do everything I can to destroy it.
With that said, i would love to see someone start a blog on how to go Galt, how to remove our money from the system and prepare to ride out the fall of our nation. Anybody know of one or willing to start one?

The Church didn't stand up, no more money to them. No more money to the Red Cross, learned they come with chocolate and cookies and a tent that says red cross. No more money to the salvation army, where were they? They should also consider where the FEMA money goes. Where were they? Almost feel like these "organizations" are ways to redistribute money to send to the political party in power and to give major huge salaries to their executives. No more being nice to teachers or government workers (except cops, firemen and the military) I'm giving them a hardy FU anytime I am forced to deal with them.
We should as a country take away all "non profit" status. You're a business, you profit, you pay. Even churches and religious institutions
Oh, and since this is my first post having been cold and in the freakin dark for 9 days, FU Chris Christie, you'll never ever, never ever, have my vote ever. Paul Ryan was a rising star. Not anymore. Romney ruined that. He'll be forever tainted by this election. .
