— CAC Last Tuesday, with the help of a few carefully selected cheeseheads, we reported returns from Wisconsin for the recall primary. The method used wasn't even off the ground, but was successful enough for me to notice several glaring differences between what the #AOSHQDD had and the official Associated Press numbers. None of these were inaccuracies on our end. The differences resulted from a chronic delay in Dane County (Madison), Waukesha County, and others for a substantial part of the evening, and there is no reason to doubt we will see the same thing on the night of the recall.
Many in the past have thought that the lefties in counties like Dane withheld their results deliberately until the Republican areas rolled in; and more recently, that Waukesha officials "caught on" and were reporting theirs last deliberately. The simpler explanation which became glaringly obvious was poor reporting by the AP.
Dane County reported all of its returns quickly and in substantial chunks through the evening: at about 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 95%, and 100% in, roughly. The time delay between the Dane County Clerk uploading the information and the Associated Press listing the numbers ran as much as an hour to an hour-and-a-half apart. There was no holding back of votes, just the reporting by the press. The same went for Waukesha, which updated at a surprisingly fast rate Tuesday. Even when all votes had been counted and uploaded, there was a sizable delay in reporting on the AP's part. In fact there was a delay in reporting nearly 30% of the statewide result.
I had suspected the lethargy back when tracking the Presidential primary. Waukesha was late as always, but finally reported big chunks of its vote around 1am West Coast time. The numbers appeared right here on Ace of Spades hours before the Associated Press bothered to recheck and update. Last Tuesday simply confirmed my earlier hunch.
It is clear the traditional method, I suppose waiting for a phone call or email, is snail-like compared to what we are more than capable of now that we aren't solely reliant on their numbers. Procedural sluggishness rests at the root of this, and in a way that is even worse than the previously assumed "intented" delays.
Intentional "scheming" to hold back reporting at least implies some sort of reasoned method. But having a second-rate hack poll junkie obsessed with numbers pump them faster because you're too lazy to click "refresh" on a screen? That's just sad.
Update- wow, just realized this wasn't sent to drafts after the first...draft.
So again...how the hell am I faster than actual reporters at giving you numbers?

Any thoughts on what other reasons there might be?
Since those are large counties, could they simply be stringing the results out for some other reason?

Now that I'm "inside the machine" I can tell you the margin of fraud can be as high as 10%... not the 1-2% that we thought.
The problem is much bigger than we can possibly hope to manage.

"I am not accusing AP reporters of bias or some bizarre information conspiracy, as counties on opposite ends of the spectrum went through the same delays."
Still, CAC.....the AP's liberal bias is right up there with MSNBC, so it's difficult to put that aside and forget about it.

You'll be impressed by the bill, I promise you that.
I remember when I gave up on Whole Foods and turned to Trader Joe's. I wandered around just tossing stuff in my shopping cart like there was no tomorrow. Luxury items. Whole cheesecake, brick of gorgonzola, salad greens, soymilk (yes, I'm weird), King Arthur's Flour (they don't have it anymore, damn it), walnuts, eggs, various meats, various frozen foods, this cheesy popcorn I'm addicted to, on and on. The bill came to something absurd like $30. At Whole Paycheck that would have been $80.

Yet even in Republican controlled States, they will not question Obamas validity to be on the ballot due to his being born a Dual citizen... or a simple check on his legal identity, as he DID change names a couple of times... or a simple check on his Social Security Number...
Things a Secretary of State 'could' ask... as in most States THEY decide who is qualified to be on the ballot.

I got a pretty good prep school story from age 19. Well not exactly a prep school, more like apartment in El Cajon with 5 guys and no money. We were starving and got this brilliant idea to steal some pizza. We would call and order a small cheese pizza, since its all we had the money for, and we'd lure him into the apartment under the guise of doing a hit of weed, while two guys would be taking the rest of the pizza out of his car.
The only problem was we also had no weed. After locating a stem we broke it into small pieces and wrapped one of the roomates red hairs around it. Told the pizza delivery guy that it was red hair sensi. He takes a hit, says thanks and leaves. Couple minutes later the guys who were supposed to steal the rest of his pizza's come walking in with nothing. They were too scared to go through with it. So we all sat around and ate our miniscule ration of cheese pizza.

I know a lot of small restaurants around here will trade you a meal for help with some odd jobs. Small places which don't want to pay someone, because of the minimum wage, to take care of small things usually will barter. Usually work like helping clean vent hoods, grease traps, sweeping, unloading deliveries, trash removal, weeding, all the little stuff businesses need done and really don't want their regular employees wasting time on when money needs to be made.

I'm gonna get called a bigot ...most people who receive EBT can't organize their lives that well. Planning meals around affordable ingredients takes skill, effort, and a willingness to delay today's gratification (Dollar Menu!! Tasty RIGHT NOW!) for tomorrow's survival. (Shit, some weeks I can't organize my life that well. Mandatory overtime = Chik-Fil-A and pizza rolls.)
And how are you going to cook that stuff when your electricity gets cut off June 1 because you didn't pay the bill all winter because your abusive baby daddy smoked up your paychecks? (We'd have kicked the bastard out and paid the bills, but we were raised differently.)

Wow. what a shame. Can't imagine how much you'd have to drink to drink yourself to death.
I love a good Scotch or red wine, in moderation, and as a Christian I will not apologize for it. In moderation, it's a gift from the Almighty.
Fermentation is natural. Grape: yeast on the outside, sugar on the inside. Crush. Leave alone. Wine.
I'm annoyed at the "Jesus didn't drink" crowd. Jesus drank. He was a Rabbi who participated in the Jewish rituals of the time. He didn't change water into grape juice. It was wine.

It's $3 in the Midwest, or it was when I bought a bottle a few years ago. As a gift for my mother, paired with a $7 bottle of mulling spices. I've no idea if it was any good, but I figured there was no point in mulling some snooty "subtle hints of oregano with a light floor polish bouquet" wine...

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Pastor, in his homily this evening, recounted a confession in which someone said " I hate Muslims."
He then went into the abyss of moral equivalence. "There are radical Christians. There are radical Catholics..."
Yes. We (Christians) must love our enemies. His error, however, was to fail to consider that radical Christians do not perform clitorectomies on their daughters.

Brother in law is a Geo Prof, good for the occasional this looks like it does for this reason. Like 5 miles of river that zig-zags instead of meanders because the underlying rock slipped.

It's because the chess thread went up about two milliseconds before this thread.
Acutally, I like the chess thread since I like playing serious chess.
I'm still terrible at it, but I like playing it.

She is 3-1/2 years old, bubba, she's staying right here with me. Plus, I asked the vet, "is this cat gonna die?" and he said no, he didn't think so. It is what it is -- she has breathing problems, she doesn't have cancer. That I would surrender to.

1 mouse in the garage (+)
1 lizard in the front yard (-), whom I liked (lizards eat bugs)
1 bird who use to live in a tree near the front door. (-)
She is a little fucking killer. I will pet her and feed her. But I hope to never see her in heaven.
On the other hand, we had a pit bull terrier. She was the sweetest thing. She got cancer and died. I want Penny to sit on my lap again.

That's exactly what it is, PA. Unfortunately, the place looks really nice and I was unaware of the ghetto-hell plumbing before I signed a year's lease. Which, with the aforementioned disappearing job, I have little chance of bouncing into an even more expensive place any time soon. It's LA, I pay a fucking fortune for this shithole. Rock, meet hard place. Oh, well.

I remember reading a passage by Thomas Aquinas where he seemed to be arguing that animals did have souls of a sort.

In our house, dog and cat co-exist--peacefully. To keep Spastic Lab company we have an orange tabby (absolute Garfield clone) named Studebaker.
These guys are great buddies, and frequently sleep together.

My old BSA patrol leader came to visit me in my hand-built, off-grid redoubt 8 miles from the paved road (his youngest brother told him where I was: you FBI alums from even back before the 10mm days condiser that someone had to rule me out as The Unabomber, our mode de vie being so unconventional, sandwiched as it were between strict Anabaptists and the Sons of the Pioneers, horse-powered, of course, and organic (that other sh*t smelled so bad you could tell right away it was a bad idea), and committed to increase (not "forward" or "progress" or that other phoney (God help us if Lil Barry should win) RINO shite), but Gen 1,28 . http://tinyurl.com/2c7a7lq. He and his beautiful wife were living in L.A. (this was the mid-80's) and he told me, "It's a nice lifestyle, but you need about $90k p.a. to cut it." Guess where they moved.

You can get a black toxic mold test kit at most HVAC supply stores, they're not expensive. If you got toxic mold that ailing the kitty, you just hit the jackpot - the landlord will have to fix it and put you in a motel while the remediation work is going on.

I was JoanofArc in a former life.
Frogs like me. They come to my door from the bog and hang around because of my blessed aura(like JC) or they want to eat me or fry me on a spit. Don't trust frogs.

Our smallest kitten will hiss at the biggest dog, and thenceforth absolutely rule the roost. DufusDog treats it as a joke, but knows that I'd terminate his butt with extreme prejudice if he ever went mean on me or any member of family including a kitten.
Good luck with the job hunt, Peaches.

Yes, because we all know the "comfy chair joke" goes right over everyone's head.
I find it interesting that the left can obsess over something almost a millennium in the past, but aren't troubled by socialism's murder of hundreds of millions in the last century.
In fact, socialism has killed more people then religion, even though socialism, as a ruling ideology, has only been around for less then a hundred years, and religion has existed at least as long as civilization has.
