— Gabriel Malor Um... so I'm just gonna throw this up now.
Jill Kelley, the woman who was (allegedly) threatened by Gen. Petraeus's squeeze Paula Broadwell and who (apparently) started the FBI investigation that led to Petraeus' ouster, who went to the FBI for help after the threats and then (allegedly) had a relationship with the FBI agent in charge of her own case, who (allegedly) sent her shirtless pics of himself, also (apparently, allegedly) had "compromising" communications with Gen. John Allen, the Big Damn Commander of our war effort in Afghanistan.
You can't even make this shit up. It's not a love triangle. It's a love Pentagon.
Allen, a four-star Marine general, succeeded Petraeus as the top American commander in Afghanistan in July 2011.The senior official, who discussed the matter only on condition of anonymity because it is under investigation, said Panetta believed it was prudent to launch a Pentagon investigation, although the official would not explain the nature of Allen's problematic communications.
The official said 20,000 to 30,000 pages of emails and other documents from Allen's communications with Kelley between 2010 and 2012 are under review. He would not say whether they involved sexual matters or whether they are thought to include unauthorized disclosures of classified information. He said he did not know whether Petraeus is mentioned in the emails.
"Gen. Allen disputes that he has engaged in any wrongdoing in this matter," the official said. He said Allen currently is in Washington.
Twenty to thirty THOUSAND pages? I write for a living and I can tell you that I haven't written twenty to thirty thousand pages in my working career. Cheese-and-crackers, that's a damn lot of love letters. I've never liked anyone enough EVER to spend that much time talking to them. Eesh.
The inescapable rule of affairs just ran into the first rule of spycraft. The rule of affairs is that there is never just one. You cheat, that makes you a cheater. It never just happens once.
And the first rule of spycraft is that "Everyone (or every man) has his blond bombshell in a red Ferrari." Translation: every idiot will let his sex drive drive.
Gah. This is breaking just now, so I'm going to have to mull for a while before I can tell you anything else. Gah. Afghanistan. Gah.
Update: Incriminating photos below:
These two not-very-attractive chuckleheads just got a couple thousand soldiers killed. Allegedly.

Gabe, then you must be easily shocked. Nothing surprises me about this administration. The president does what he wants, mostly golfing. The SS chase hookers in Colombia, and everywhere esle. The latest shennanegans are perfectly in character.

The fundamental reason I'm an extremely extreme anti-everything crank is because I grew up surrounded by Important People, and I couldn't help but notice that we're ruled by absolute psychos.
I say that as a fairly crazy dude with an only intermittently functioning moral sense. To me, the hook in this story is how manly these mistresses are and what pussies these generals seem to be. It's "counterintuitive."
But if dude sent the office-bathroom ho a 'Gravity's Rainbow' worth of "I love watching you shave your pimply back and ass, girl" messages every couple weeks, that's fucking *astounding*.

I hate the Army uniforms, with the diagonal pockets, and the rank on the chest bone. It's like something Calvin Klein would design.
Second, the women in question: hubba fracking hubba! Of course you would send 20-30K love letters to these broads. I'm not saying they're the most beautiful women in the world, I'm saying they have that certain something that would drive a married (or unmarried, like me) to do stupid things. Honestly, if they were more attractive or more wholesome looking, men wouldn't react this way.

My first thought as well.
I'm sure this has been pointed out, but that 20-30,000 pages of email is highly misleading. Yesterday at work I printed out 15 emails back and forth between 4 people and it was around 100 pages long due to how Outlook formats the thread and because everyone has signatures with boilerplate disclaimers that take up 1/3 of a printed page. If you c and p and actual email text, it's maybe 3 pages long.

Pennsylvania election officials say they are not planning to investigate the extraordinary turnout and vote totals that President Obama garnered from parts of Philadelphia last Tuesday.
"In a presidential election year, there are times where you get extremely high turnout," said Ron Ruman, press secretary for Pennsylvania's Department of State, in a telephone interview with Fox News. "We would investigate if we thought there was something shady going on. But at this point, we have no reason to think that."
Vote totals > 100% are not suspicious (for a black Democrat in a black neighborhood).

Mary Karr's best-selling debut memoir, The Liars' Club, brought to vivid, indelible life her hardscrabble Texas childhood, and her follow-up, Cherry, told of her adolescence. A one-word email requires one page to print out. That's how email rolls. Reply to a communication with "okay" or "LOL" or "talk later" and you have created a page.
As a writer -- or, thanks in large part to the Choom Boy regime, a writer who is, as actors used to say in their Variety ads, "at liberty" -- who has spent 26 years swilling out verbiage for the masses (or the half-masses), I doubt that printing out every article I wrote would add up to much over 5000 pages. And some of them would, of course, be partial pages.
Some of this morning's new trolls could crank out 30K pages in a day, I think. If you edited them down to actual, you know, thoughts I doubt you'd need five pages to print 'em out.

The GOP establishment as one of its first acts of capitulation looks to want to sign on to another general amnesty for Mexicans illegals and others.
This as I will show will have the exact opposite effect that many in the GOP establishment think they will attain with this policy.
If the GOP establishment wants to argue that it is good humanitarian policy
I could accept that, I would reject it, but I could accept that line of reasoning.
The GOP establishment surely must have access to the information I present it runs counter to the arguments put forward by the GOP establishment and the "conservative" intelligentsia that if we just amnesty millions of Mexican illegals and others the GOP will get the credit and the lions share of the votes that result from Mexican illegals and others being amnestied.
Here is all you need to know about how doing another round of amnesty will go.
Many of you are probably unaware, but the GOP used to own California.
Richard Nixon, yes that Richard Nixon, was a congressman and Senator
and Reagan was Governor from '67 to '75.
Do you think men such as these will ever be elected in California ever again.
Surely not!
A Brief History of the Presidential Voting History for California with a little background
1965 - Immigration and Nationality Act Passes
Ted Kennedy: "First, our cities will not be flooded with a million
immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset....
Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the bill will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most
populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia....
In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed
measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think."
THIS AS WE KNOW WAS A LIE
1968 - GOP
1972 - GOP.
1976 - GOP.
1980 - GOP.
1984 - GOP.
1986 - Simpson/Mazzoli Amnesty Act Passes. Largest general amnesty for illegal immigrants due to our cities being flooded by the '65 act.
1988 - GOP.
1992 - DEM.
1996 - DEM.
1996 - Illegal Immigration Reform and Responsibility act - Smoke and mirrors that was neither reform nor responsible.
It's main function was to water down sponsership requirements putting chain migration on steroids.
2000 - DEM.
2004 - DEM.
2008 - The political class tries to do another round of amnesty but is rebuffed by public outcry
2008 - DEM.
2012 - DEM.
California is now entirely Democrat and will never vote for another GOP President again, it's legislature has a super, super majority of Democrats because of massive unchecked illegal immigration from Mexico to that state.
Here is an article from the PEW center on hispanic voting patterns.
http://tinyurl.com/6uuc4
No Democrat has received less than 56% of the hispanic vote.
Two years after signing the largest general amnesty for Hispanics, the GOP nominee garnered 30% of the hispanic vote.
John "Mr Amnesty" McCain received 31% of the hispanic vote.
George W. Bush did the best with 40% of the hispanic vote.
On average Democrats get 65% of the hispanic vote.
The GOP will be committing suicide if it does another round of amnesty
Now if the GOP wishes to commit suicide they should state that is their plan.
This would allow conservatives the time to build a new party, because suicide is what they will be achieving with the policy.
Now what we should do is confront our politicians and the members of the "conservative" intelligentsia with these irrefutable facts and demand what the real reason is that they pursue these ruinous policies.

We were convinced everyone in the country knew the Scoamf was a scoamf, and we believed Romney sold himself well enough.
Just not true. Too many people thought he was a non-entity, ironically enough, because that is in fact what we elected 4 years ago, and reelected last week.
So it's possible Romney suffered from too many people saying "whoa, I'm not voting for a guy who I don't really know, I did that 4 years ago and look what happened!"

A couple of "ifs" here: IF Romney had known about it, and IF he had wanted to put it out for the public to know, it could have been done. Granted, the MFM might have sat on it (as they did so much else) lest their Choom Boy be hurt, but you know damn well that Breitbart or some like site would have spread it big-time.
My suspicion is that Teh Mutt did NOT know. Should he ever open up about how this campaign played out, I believe we will find that Gary Johnson was kept more in the loop intelligence-wise by the regime than Romney.
Shit, even Crookus Maximus LBJ gave Goldwater intel briefings, and he hated and feared ol' Barry.
But the Traitor-in-Chief doesn't work that way. Anything that might have hurt his chances was shot down instantly and sent down the Memory Hole. That goes for those pesky votes cast for Romney that could have gotten in his way, BTW.

Remember that "pages" means "printed pages" and a single, one or two line email can (depending on the email client) print out in two pages. And not all of the "pages of emails" will actually be germane to the investigation. Some of them, even between the *ahem* involved parties will be strictly legitimate emails.
One of the things I ran into doing that review of the Benghazi documents was that there would be pages and pages of "supporting" material, or reports that didn't actually have any baring on the 9/11 attack.
The same sort of thing will be true here.

OK, ‘rons and ‘ronettes, here we go.
Yesterday I mentioned the old Villa Capri restaurant in Hollywood. If the name seems familiar to you at all, then thatÂ’s because at some point youÂ’ve come across the story of the Wrong Door Raid:
The love affair between Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, though soaked in nostalgic sentiment, was, beyond both enjoying a healthy sex life, not particularly romantic. DiMaggio, like many Italian males, was insanely jealous of Monroe, and her sexy off- and on-screen persona only made things worse.*
One night, shortly after their divorce, DiMaggio, Frank Sinatra, Hank Sanicola (FrankÂ’s manager) and a few other of the paisanos were gathered at a table at the Villa. DiMaggio was in a foul mood, convinced that Marilyn was in a nearby apartment shtupping another man. He wanted to break in on the two and beat the man senseless. Sinatra, usually no stranger to violence, kept trying to talk him out of it, but DiMaggio only got angrier and angrier as he stewed over the image of Marilyn, her magnificent body spread-eagled on a bed, being screwed by some nobody.
Finally, DiMaggio got up. Sinatra went with him. They went to the apartment house and kicked in a door. . .behind which was an elderly spinster in bed. Alone. Naturally, the police were called and the whole episode ended up in court, where the “Wrong Door Raid” cost both Sinatra and DiMaggio heavily in settling things amicably.
As it turned out, DiMaggio was right. Marilyn was in bed with another man, and it was only through sheer luck (or booze) that he didn’t catch her. “Joe is such a gentleman,” she said, when she learned of the events of the night. “Who else but a gentleman would kick in the wrong door?”
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
*Columnist James Bacon, who I also mentioned yesterday, said of Monroe, “She lost all her insecurities when she was flaunting that magnificent body. She knew she excited men. . .I recall [after MM won an award] getting up from the table to give Marilyn a congratulatory kiss. She kissed back in such a way that I will always remember it as the night I saved her being raped. I restrained myself. Marilyn was almost drugged when she was in this state. She became the greatest cock teaser I have ever known – and she loved every minute of it.”

<20,000 to 30,000 pages--how the hell does that even happen?>
>pages and pages of "supporting" material, or reports that didn't actually have any baring <
Yes. Everything that was sent from the computers or typed at the keyboards in question, including revised fabrications to "make" the prosecution's case, even if only altering context.
WHY bother reading personal emails when the same government refuses to read legislation prior to the vote? Hell, the inaffordable mandated health care was only 2,000 pages. Now which topic "deserves" the entire nation's attention; which will affect our very lives the hardest? Really tough to go figure.
The point remains that Obama probably never wanted Petraeus around, and demands his head roll after the "video" campaign fiasco. Who's to say that it wasn't Axelrod forcing Petraeus to blame the video in the first place for more than it was ever "worth". According to Webster Tarpley, the Producers who owned the facilities used to make the video are connected to the Republican Neoconservative Bush allegiance. And being the vindictive and malicious man that Obama is, Petraeus' resignation was never going to make the grade. And for all we know, Obama didn't even want Petraeus' resignation; but would rather have him under the thumb screws to manipulate. Besides, with so many Americans in awe of the General's career accomplishments, how better to gut any sense of "patriotism" to Old Glory than to ruin the hero?
Cheating on spouses is between the husband and wife to settle.
If the men involved are to blame, SO ARE THE "OTHER" WOMEN to blame.
My only surprise is that the nation's "Leaders" making hay over Petraeus' sexual advances dare point the finger anywhere but at themselves as THEY ARE the lot of whoring bastards themselves.
Compromising national security is the only point worth debate. The only intelligence "compromised" was Obama's lack of integrity under fire. So right or wrong, make it all about Petraeus.
I'm not going to read every damned "affair" article since this tempest in the teapot is another major distraction to blind Americans from the worst measures happening behind the scenes. More trillions of dollars vanishing into the same 1% monopolist profits. More war propaganda pumping, the gullible people believing the lying media because of ALL sources available /the MSM is so very trustworthy/ and times are troubling. Direct the avenues for venting anger and frustration, and watch the puppets knee-jerk the can can chorus.

Ummm... no.
Well, yes, when you choose to have an affair, it's all on you. But that's the nice thing about blame, despite our attempts to divide it, it never does- it just multiplies.
The men deserve all the blame, yes. But so do the mistresses. Unless you're accusing the men of serially raping these women.

These doen't even make any sense. As we say, "it takes two to tango." If you know that someone is married, common decency (if nothing else- and it used to be law) says you keep your hands off. That someone is now off limits to anyone who is not his or her spouse.
To extend the mentioned bank robbing metaphor, that's like saying that a bank robber doesn't deserve blame unless he's robbing a bank where he has an account.
In any affair, there are two parties to blame. The cheating spouse, and the person with whom he (or she) cheats. If some hot married woman came on to me, it is a moral responsibility to rebuff her advances, regardless of my own marital situation. If that's true, so is the reverse.
What you're actually claiming is that the mistresses were just so weak and incapable of overruling their own emotions that they couldn't possibly be blamed for their actions and the consequences thereof.

No one seems to be picking up on this. On Friday Cuomo ordered gas rationing (odd/even) in the NY Metro. The gas shortage had greatly eased and as far as I could tell no gas station was enforcing the rule.
So lets recap the gas shortage
The state finally lifts the ban on ethanol after the gas distributors receive an ethanol shipment. Then they ration gas after the supply increases and is distributed to gas stations.

Not, I. But, then, I never really thought all that much about (one way or the other) the senior leadership in the military.
It is the married cheater to blame, whether they are male or female (or from SanFran). Period.
So if you're not married, you just can't possibly control yourself and not throw yourself at married people? I mean, it doesn't even matter who made the initial advances- you have a responsibility to keep it in your pants. If one party is married and the other party is not (or, both parties are married, just not to each other), both parties in the affair are still to blame. She made the choice, knowing he was married (and, in this case, that she was, too) to get/give some strange.
Unless it was rape, or coerced through authority, the mistress bears just as much blame as the General. No, he shouldn't have made any advances (assuming he "started it,"), but once he did she still shouldn't have accepted them. "General, you're married, and this is inappropriate" would have been the correct response.

I don't spend a lot of time out there, but when I do, it makes me feel like every one there is bucking to play the "who they know" card.
Who you're sleeping with is just an extension of that. It's a Nietzschean, Bucephalus playland. Part power, part sick duluded hedonism. (See also, GSA, less affairs, more power issues though.)
The soulution to teh Nietzschean problem is to dissolve and diffuse the power structure (i.e. reduce the power in DC and realign it in a more spread out manner.)
If only we had some sort of constitutional amendment that accomplished that. And if only someone had a Blog that could explain to me how that amendment worked.

You're acting like there is a finite amount of blame, here, and that if the mistress receives any of it, there's less for the husband to take. I don't believe that at all. I think they can both be held completely responsible for their own behavior (and should), and therefore both can be held completely responsible for the affair.

I said in the first one- blame doesn't divide, it multiplies. There isn't some finite amount of blame so that one person can have more than the other. They are BOTH completely to blame.
I'm really not sure how I could be more clear, or how you're getting that I was not also blaming the Generals here.

**
I'm gonna respectfully disagree with you there. I've had a few opportunities for extramarital fun. But when your married and you cheat it's all on you. My analogy would be a bank robber blaming the bank cause it's got all that money.
**
I agree that marriage is a sacred vow. Neither spouse has the right to cheat. And with regards to what is sacred, their marriages are not public property to be abused by the press. Whatever the couple decides is best for their marriage deserves public respect.
But with regards to expectations, this was mutual consent at play, and the females involved themselves knowingly. He wasn't pretending to be a single man, misleading their perception. They wanted what they got, and did their best to get it. Society is done no favor when the media provide whores with the victim card.
Also, with regards to expectations, power begets corruption. Extramarital flings are par for the course in Washington. Few there be that don't cheat, and God bless them for their integrity. But my point remains, neither Obama nor anyone in his administration nor Congress have the moral authority to point the finger singling out Petraeus for sexual misconduct given that THEY ARE THE 99% WHO CHEAT THE WORST!
Unless national security was compromised, aside from exposing Obama's vanity which is not secret, I'm not interested in hearing that Petraeus has sex with other women since he resigned from public office. That is his punishment. He was exposed, and he did not bitterly cling to his office like some Democrats we all know.
With regards to Benghazi, both Clinton and Petraeus MUST provide Congressional Testimony. Unless they were AWOL, unavailable while the massacre took place, their sexual activities are beside the point of Benghazi. We should not get distracted from the point, the essence of the matter. Obama ordered nothing be done, leaving matters in the hands of the Libyan new and not yet organized to function beyond the stratagem of the safety of the Libyan government officials and security forces. Obama could not be bothered, so why should the Libyan government, an easy excuse to throw. Why would Libyans fight Libyans in order to "protect" Americans, especially CIA operatives, when by so doing they themselves face the threat of violent death. It isn't as if the CIA is a beloved agency in Libya or globally. The new Libyan government has no "allegiance" to the CIA or to the USA, no matter how much power we afford them, no matter how much money we afford them, no matter how we strong arm their new officials. They are not loyal to the USA. They have their own interests, just like everyone else. And the sooner that US Foreign Policy get over the mindset that taxpayers can buy whatever results that our corrupt national leaders desire for themselves, so that they can have their cake and eat it too, the better off for the taxpayers if not everyone else as well.

20-30k pages of e-mails and docs between two people in two years? That's 27 pages of stuff a day. Even tossing in ridiculously long LOIs and tons of boilerplate stuff, interspersed with some personal stuff, that's still hard to believe. No way a four star has that kind of time.
Even as a lowly senior SNCO, you could probably have gotten 20-30k in docs from my e-mail in two years, but that's from everyone and counts the mass e-mails of worthless shit I received on a daily basis.
There has to have been some large docs changing hands that had nothing to do with social events, boilerplate info, and detailed descriptions of what they'd like to do with one another.

A lot of those women are trophy wives, looking to get set up for life. Since their hubbies are off fucking the nurses and interns and never at home, they find other ways to entertain themselves.

Maybe this was the reason that Stalin had the Red Army officer corps shot during the thirtes.

#697 Not a bad novel, a bad movie. This sick episode reminds me of "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls". I wonder if Patreaus has tits?

If the Petraeus thing was known in 2011 by the FBI, Holder knew (the FBI is under the Justice dept.) which means Obama knew. Now his replacement has similar issues? How very convenient....this sounds like a way for ValJar to clear the ranks of top commanders who might have opposition to the Obama WH. Its hard to imagine all of these alpha dogs in the military being away from wife or girlfriend for years at a time without getting laid...The honey trap is the oldest game in the spy business. The bonus for Obama is that its a great smoke screen for Benghazi which seems to have risen to a impeachable level scandal.

Occam's Razor. This IS starting to sound like the simplest explanation considering all the other non-credible bullshit we've been spoon fed.

In my father-in-laws time it seemed the military supported his graduate education in nuclear engineering. You know so he could build better bombs.
Petraeus' Ph.D. is in International Relations.
That's wussy even by social science standards.
There's a paperweight on my desk that could get a Ph.D. in International Relations. "Scholar," my ass.

And BTW, any man, every man is susceptible to this. And likely any woman as well. Easy to be high and mighty. Easy to see the speck in someone else's eye and ignore the log in our own.

Kelley, who grew up in Philadelphia, is of Lebanese descent. Her family, Maronite Catholics, immigrated from Jounieh, Lebanon, in the mid-1970s, according to a 1988 article about her family's restaurant, Sahara, in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Once Petraeus (not a committed Obamabot) learned the truth about Libya, wheels were set in motion. Step 1: Embarrassing disclosure of affair, forcing him (with strong "encouragement") to resign. Step 2: Assassinate him, making it look like a suicide (forged letter) over being distraught from the affair and its disclosure, thus permanently precluding him from testifying about Libya.
Laugh at me. Then watch it happen.
