November 02, 2012
— andy
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter
In medium saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until bubbles form at edges. In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into hot milk, a little at a time, stirring to dissolve. Continue to cook and stir until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into serving dishes. Chill beforeservingdipping.
Might want to stock up on the Valu-Rite, too.

The Benghazi debacle will be resolved in the months to come. Romney is right to stay on the bread and butter economic issues.
These are the things that people will vote on because they are closest to their lives.
What happened in Benghazi chaps my ass (as it does to many here), but the election should not turn on that alone, although it is a symptom of the larger problem of the Obama Regime.

(Not that I needed to vote in Oklahoma. I believe we had the most lopsided numbers for McCain of any state in the Union in 2008...which is to say that we have been dead to Obama since January 2009....which is fine by us.)

It's cold night out in West Chester (outside of Cincinnati), and people had to come farther and wait longer to see Kasich, Portman, Boehner, Ryan and Romney.

Romney will win by close to 7% nationally. We will gain 8-10 House seats and 53 in the Senate.

One of my favorite images from the West Chester rally tonight was when the camera panned over the dais and John Kasich was standing there, with his hands in his pockets, a smile on his face, shivering a bit in the cold night air, looking for all the world like a regular Ohio dad.
That is who Ohio politicians are because that is who Ohio citizens are. Just regular people with good, boring, common sense. They gave Obama a chance 4 years ago and he blew it.
They will not reward his blowing their faith with another chance.

O/T I just got a phone call from a scammer saying he was soliciting contributions for R/R. Well, actually, he didn't get that far - when my husband asked him who was calling he hung up. I looked up the number [(513) 201-3240], and there were multiple complaints. The caller is asking for credit card numbers and advising against going to the website to contribute because it'll take too long for the money to come through. Someone at that number is also asking for money for "Food for the Hungry."
I went on the R/R site and reported it in the comments (on the off chance they don't already know), but does anyone know how or to what authority I should report this?

My sister and her husband are visiting his daughter in AZ right now. She said it's eerie for a cheesehead who is used to every election being fought tooth and nail, to be in a state where there are only a few yard signs out for local races (the big worry in Phoenix is keeping Sheriff Joe in office) and no commercials. The two of them made sure to vote in Wisconsin yesterday - for Romney.
