35 Carney was asked at today’s press briefing about Democrats’ rumblings of concern that the economy could hurt not only Obama’s re-election chances, but the party’s chances in the House and Senate. “The president is focused far less on his job than on the jobs of the American people,” Carney said. “That’s what he works on every day. That is what drives all of the economic proposals that he has put forward. That is what has driven him from the beginning — from the time he decided to run for the Senate and run for the presidency.” Carney said Obama “takes a long view on all of these things.” “Is it good or bad for any candidate’s prospects in November? That’s — that’s not why he got into this.” Obama tried to make the case at Friday fundraisers that May job numbers were hit by economic troubles in Europe. “We need to take every step that we can here at home to insulate our economy from the negative effects of the eurozone crisis or slower growth in China or whatever headwind arises,” Carney said. “…Therefore, we need to pass every piece of legislation we can that helps our economy grow and help it create jobs.”

My understanding from reading a couple of reports was that the arrest was due to a warrent sworn out on Sunday.  Which is important because that was Sunday of a holiday weekend so I'm *really* curious (yes, I know, shut up)what his relationship with the judge that issued it would be.  The senile judge who thought they should just fight it out upheld the peace order, but that was all he did.

It depends on the url.  Most direct URL's you can put in the URL box so your name is the clickable link with the exception of youtube.  But I think if you use youtu.be as the link source its short enough.  Though I don't quite know how that works.

They can run a web site that will intentionally mention the obscure information, for the purpose of getting a hit from your search engine. 93 steevy @36, Carney had that exchange with Jake Tapper. Check out Tapper's awesome rejoinder (killer snark, said just in passing):

TAPPER: Jay, in the last few days Democrats have expressed real concern about not only the economy but what it says about the president’s prospects for re-election, and with him, the House and Senate and who will control them. Is the President hearing from these Democrats? What is the concern — does the President share the concern that somehow there’s been a tipping point reached, that the economy is now headed in the wrong direction, not just a blip, but in the last two months were revised downward, and the president will not be able to make the argument that the economy — as he has as recently as March — that job growth is happening, it’s accelerating and that his prospects for re-election are weaker? Is he at all concerned about this?

CARNEY: Jake, the president is focused far less on his job than on the jobs of the American people. ThatÂ’s what he works on every day. That is what drives all of the economic proposals that he has put forward.

TAPPER: Well not today, right? Today he has fundraisersÂ…

Found that posted by Daniel Foster the Corner. As he puts it, "Carney just went right on with his talking point, no beats skipped. But I always get a kick out of TapperÂ’s exceedingly polite signal jamming." Gotta love Tapper for moments like that.

There's an extension for Firefox called Better Privacy that will delete them when you close the browser.  Works pretty well if you're worried about 'super cookies'.

98 Arms Merchant links are always 100% libtard-free.

99 #78- It's not that I couldn't access the site.  Three times in a row when I brought up the Ayers/4th of July Obama article my computer shut down and said it had closed Windows because of an error or some such thing.  It didn't happen on any other article/site and I just wanted to check that it wasn't a Breitbart issue before I tried again.  Didn't mean to offend.

100 18 Something like a link through tinyurl or one of the other url truncators. Where there's really no way of you knowing where the link will actually take you to. That's why I hate tinyurl and other systems like it. I like to hover my mouse over a link and see where it's taking me before I click on it. Also, since when do we "click" on links here at the HQ? I have to highlight the text, then right-click and select "open in new tab". Then, if it's a tinyurl, I have to click on the durn thing again. Hopefully, once the New New Comments Thingy is developed, we'll be able to post normal links like every other friggin' site on the internet.

102 I wish pixy would fix the url length bug.

103 I thought using those URL truncaters were the only way to contribute news links. So I take it we just have to use our website address box to provide articles.
That sucks. Of course, it sucks more that someone is abusing the trust of the commenters/readers.

108 OH, we shouldn't just click any link on the internet?  Who knew?

"Dark Blog Day" might make some news - IF we had a bunch of hawt chicks who would appear with duct tape over their mouths, and topless, to make the point.

What the heck do you expect CONGRESS to do anyway?  Of course, I'm sure Reid and Obama will be happy to do something about a leftist causing problems for conservatives.  They won't pass a budget, but they will drop everything because some bloggers said nothing?

Pure genius.  Public schools, I'm guessing?
