TMZ reported that Adam went vegan as advised by his Tibetan doctors. That seems like a bad idea after having been damaged by chemo and fighting against cancer. I wouldn't be surprised if that shortened his lifespan.

Heh. When alternative music was briefly big in the mid to late-90's, I saw a hilarious interview where someone from Luscious Jackson was asked what was alternative music. Her response? Paul's Boutique is, in my mind, the best rap album ever. It truly broke new ground with sampling and overdubbing. It was only a contract dispute that allowed it to pass by mostly unnoticed, with the exception of the, meh, Hey Ladies single.
The later albums were good, "Check your head" and "Hello Nasty" especially. However, once their causes started to influence their music, and in particular their politics, it all started to fall away. I have listened to these guys since I was 13 and still keep their CD's in my car.
Without MCA, the Three MC's will be missed.

The Bee Gees are still one of my favorite groups. Not rock, of course, but they, too, suffered from over-exposure. Their older stuff is fantastic. Heck, even a few of their disco-era songs are good now that we're not hearing them in rotation every 20 minutes.

Did you see the story a few weeks ago about his final tour? I think it might have been on 60 Minutes(?).
He has Alzheimer's and they interviewed him and the family, of which his son and daughter are part of his band. It was a rather touching piece.

So sorry to hear of Adam Gadahn Pearlman Yauch's demise, especially loved his later musical work, especially the lyrics, with his late, not-so-lamented, Death Metal Band, "Aphasia". But he bravely returned to his satirical, iconic-send-up roots in the video art-form in the new Millenium, reaching his zenith with his 2006 release, "Invitation to Islam", dangerously treading on the Theo van Gogh-like-mockery genre (him being a conflicted Jew and all).
Strangely, it feels like deja vu all over again....I could have sworn that Obama had Adam taken out with a drone missile a few years ago?

I never saw Tom Jones back when we heard his hits on the radio. It seems a while ago he was doing the late night tv show appearances, before we quit watching network tv. The guy always had a great beautiful baritone voice, no denying that. And by the looks of him, his tenure in Vegas was understandable. I hadn't known he was Welsh like another heart throb, Sean Connery.
