— Dave in Texas Two world changing ideas, first, "that people should have the right to choose their own leaders, and be sovereign over their own destiny", and second "that the power of those leaders, the power of government must be checked, so that individual rights will be protected."
Amen.
Happy Independence Day you goofballs.

PM Netanyahu believes in freedom and in the preservation of his country. Barry does not.
Posted by: huerfano at July 04, 2012 06:54 AM (bAGA/)
Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama Jones gets it, he just rejects the premise.
He rejects the premise for a lot of superficial reasons such as "social justice", "spreading the wealth around", "philosophical de-construction of the ruling white power paradigm" and "not enough cow bell". But basically it is the same reason all these guys do this.
It's for power. Unrestrained power, so that their big egos can run rampant over anyone and anything. There is no principle, no deep though, no logical reasoning here, despite all the mental masturbation that various academics put into this.
It's about power for Barry, pure and simple. He's an embryonic tyrant, restrained only by what he judges are the bitter clingers belief in some kind of restraint. Give him enough time (or who ever succeeds him) and the tyranny will be complete, the Constitution will be completely eviscerated, and we will have a Total Democracy, a total rule of the mob.
President Kardashian. A superficial twit with delusions of godhood. Pass the Brawndo.

How to Celebrate the 4th of July
A snippet:
The Declaration is not only about principles; it also describes institutions, the kind of institutions best adapted to protect the rights of a people. These institutions are expressed in the middle section of the document, the section in which the specific crimes and injustices of the king of England are described. The three broad constitutional principles that he violated form the backbone of the later Constitution of the United States. The first step in understanding that Constitution is not to learn its details, although they are relatively few. The first step is to understand the grand arrangements of government necessary to constitutional rule.

Happy Independence Day to you too, DiT.
I really like Bebe's vid. He brings up a point that we are all aware of, but never gets addressed too much: the will of the majority.
Our democratic republic was set up so that all may enjoy freedom, but the Prog/Coms that currently infest Washington have turned a blind eye and deaf ear to the wishes of the majority of Americans. What is clearly best (and has proven itself to work in the past) is not a part of today's political dialogue, except as part of the denigration of conservatism by the minority.
We are currently ruled by the minority. What the overwhelming majority of us want is irrelevant to these elitists. We really don't want much: a robust economy with true upward mobility, personal and national security, and a voice in Washington with which to guide our country towards what is best for all of us.
I sincerely hope that this will be the last 4th that we have to suffer under this domestic tyranny by the minority. If the events of recent weeks don't awaken the country to the mistake of Obama and Progressivism, nothing will, IMO.
I wish all of y'all a happy and prosperous Fourth of July.

The reason for having a constitutional republic is so that the individual or the minority will still retain life, property, and rights when the whim of the majority changes. May God deliver us from "majority rule."

Benjamin Netanyahu is campaigning to America over the heads, as it were, of the Executive and the Make Believe Media.
His motive is the preservation of the State of Israel. His means is to try to connect with Americans of similar view, that there are things worth struggling for, and maybe, perhaps requiring that "last full measure of devotion".
We Americans are now in the most profound existential struggle to maintain our Republic in decades, at least. There may be no turning back after this. But Israel is looking into the maw of annihilation, from Iranian nukes that may or may not exist, now or in the very near future.
The enemy, as always, is the minds of men that embrace tyranny. Whether is the mullahs of Iran, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi or Barack Obama, the common thread is that tyranny is required. Why tyranny? Why - because we say so, that's why.
Tyranny has had a multiple of rationalizations (communism, fascism, the divine right of kings, the New York Times editorial page, whatever) through the centuries, but is always boils down to the egotism of the tyrants, and their need to rule absolutely. They respect no power other than their own, and there is no idea that cannot be trampled to advance their own egos. And then there are the fawning sycophants that wish to have the bread crumbs from the tyrant in return for the slavish idolatry. Again, see the editorial pages of the NY Times.
The lust for power is a jealous master, and the rise of tyrannies portends the world set on fire from war. Oceania has always been at war with East Asia.
Freedom, liberty and justice for all are the surest antidotes for war, cruelty and conquest. Perhaps someone should have interrupted Obama's Marxist mentorings from Frank Davis to impress that on him.

French voters get a wake-up call via harsh message on national finances

Didier Migaud, head of the Cour des Compes, warned that the national economy is bordering on disaster and will “require both an unprecedented curb on public expenditure and an increase in taxes.”

>>Patriotic Parade through the neighborhood was another BFD, as Veep Choo Choo would say. Decorated people, pets, bikes, wagons, vehicles, and floats.
Ours was a little deal. Just the kids, mostly.
Funny moment from a little kid getting a balloon animal/creation. He said he wanted a weapon. Balloon guy says "I can do a sword or a laser gun. What do you want?"
"A mace."
Much laughter.

Yeah, I'll think on it some more today and maybe I'll get it and just save it. The TJ desk is $600! I'm sure Jefferson didn't pay that for his. Of course in 1776 when he wrote the DOI that was probably about $2.00 in gold.

Now if he'd said "longbow" there might have been trouble...

LOL!
Speaking of education, I was talking with my step-dad this morning. (Mom and step-dad saw what Obama was from the beginning, btw.) Among the many things we discussed: a report he had seen on TV about textbooks. The upshot: kids are being taught about 9/11, but without two pertinent facts--that the hijackers were Muslims and that they were perpetrating jihad. Al Qaeda gets mentioned but without the religious context.

On Independence Day, two guys and a union worker went fishing on a lake. Suddenly, Jesus walked across the water and joined them in the boat. When the three astonished men had settled down enough to speak, the first guy asked humbly, "Jesus, I've suffered from back pain ever since I took IED shrapnel in the Afghan war...could you help me?"
"Of course, my son", Jesus said. When Jesus touched the man's back, the man felt relief for the first time in years.
The second man, who wore very thick glasses and had a hard time reading and driving, asked if Jesus could do anything about his eyesight. Jesus smiled, removed the man's glasses and tossed them in the lake. When they hit the water, the man's eyes cleared and he could see everything perfectly.
Jesus then turned to heal the union worker, but the guy put his hands up and cried defensively, "Don't touch me! I'm on long term disability!!"

And as noted above, today is the 36th anniversary of Entebbe, in which Bibi's brother was killed.
And 36 is double-chai (two times "life")...

Well, if we've got to have democracy, the one hope we get is that the commie liars who inevitably get elected lie about being commies.

Happy Fourth All.
I was surfing around various websites and Twitchy. I'm guessing I shouldn't be by now but I was surprised at all the haters (American citizens) that come out of the wooodwork on days like 4July to spew negative, shortsighted bullshit. Having spent time in a few third-world paradises, my conviction that the USA is the most amazing most awesome country in the world has become hardened. To all the haters, suck it you thankless bastards. To the haters of foreign origin, y'all can suck it too.
