I noticed that the articles about this upcoming 'Hog Shortage'...doesn't take into account, the population explosion that's been going on with feral hogs.
All across the southern states...there are packs of feral hogs.
Thousands of them.
The drought may have affected them a little bit.
But they get their food for free...foraging on pretty much anything.
So, while hog farmers are having to slaughter their hogs, because they can't afford to feed them right now...
The feral hogs are still out there.
Hunters have been hunting them mainly for 'sport'...then donating the meat to charities which feed the homeless.
But I'm thinking that a lot of folks will now be hunting them...and either keeping the meet for themselves, or selling it.
I've eaten some wild hog brisquet.
It's okay, if it's slow-cooked in a smoker for a while.
So I would image that the bacon is okay too.

The Benghazi consulate was set up for the CIA to monitor the islamic jihadis in Eastern Libya. Someone wanted it shutdown and it may not have been the local jihadi types.
It had to be set up because the intelligence that Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia were supplying prior to the arab spring went away because intelligence agencies' support of anti-terror operations in North Africa were shut down by their new governments after the arab spring. After we told Egypt and Libya to kick their rulers out, the intelligence agencies either stopped supporting the US or got the hell out before the jihadis came calling.

I'm not an attorney...but I've had to learn to read legalese.
Those 'hostile workplace' laws are both State and Federal...but the ones I have read, are full of generalizations.
So, they pretty much leave it up to interpretation, as to what 'hostile' means.
There is 'single event' and 'ongoing atmosphere' of hostile environment.
If you inform your employer that it is going on...and it continues...then you've got a good case.
As with everything, you have to document it...in order to prove it.
You will need a good lawyer, who is on your side.
Some states have set up a an office to help people with this...and have a 'dispute board' to arbitrate.

I do a fair amount of management-side employment litigation in CA. But there are no generic "hostile workplace" regulations. Workplaces can be hostile unless the hostility is based on some legally-prohibited animus.

1. Bad behavior by coworkers or management isn't actionable unless it expresses an unlawful animus. If you have SOLID reason to believe your treatment was based on your gender, ethnicity, race, religion, physical or mental disability, or some other protected status, only then have you have met the threshold requirement for a lawsuit.
2. Even if you prove that these people acted out of unlawful motives, your claim probably isn't worth much unless you lose your job. Loss of future earnings damages is where the big money is in these cases. Mere "emotional distress" is only a big ticket item in cases that have a perfect storm of likable plaintiff, abominable management and egregious facts.
3. You can quit if the atmosphere becomes objectively intolerable. This is a "constructive termination" that is treated legally the same as if you were fired. However, before you quit you had better be certain that the workplace situation was truly objectively intolerable. Otherwise, you merely voluntarily resigned and can't recover lost wages.
4. Documented complaints are everything. If you have evidence that you're being treated badly for an improper motive (see #1), complain in writing. You will be virtually unfireable after that, at least for a time. Smart management will walk on eggshells to be sure that no action is taken that might be seen by a jury as discriminatory or harassing. One of the biggest challenges I encounter (representing management) is where an employee has made documented complaints and the employer wants to terminate. It is a very dicey situation tat works greatly to the employee's advantage.
There is a lot more to this but these are the main things to think about. Just remember that you don't even get in the door unless you can establish credible evidence of discriminatory animus.

Buona Serra, morons. The Moon looked full last night and the crowd at the club we played sure acted like it. Dance floor packed by the 3rd tune and they proceeded to get crazy, peaked early and were wiped out by 11:30.
Only two people actually fell down hard, and fortunately they didn't fall into the stage, as it's only about 15 inches high. I give the night an A-, just because things can always get a little better, right?

That California thing is diabolical. The state is forcing former non-members of Calpers to bail Calpers out. The retirement money will all go into the same pool. When the day of shortage arrives, everyone will take a hit, even though the private sector people didn't cause the problem and are late to the party.
Talk about spreading the wealth around.
