BREAKING: Before/After Debate Poll Release
— CAC

So, here we go. The first polling taken the day before and the day after Wednesday's debate, appearing in National Journal.

Tuesday October 2: Obama 49 Romney 45 O+4

Thursday, October 4: Obama 46 Romney 47 R+1

Both polls conducted by Clarus Research amongst 590 Likely Voters with a 4% MOE.

Added GMU early vote/absentee update for Iowa: D+77,000 margin now. Was over 100k a week ago, 150k in 2008, and 60k in 2004 (when Bush actually won). At this point Republicans in Iowa are sending their ballots in at a better pace than during Bush's re-election. Oh yeah, a total repeat of four years ago...

Could not believe the idiots in Luntz's green room were really able to form a sentence.  How can you have even a half of a brain and still not have made up your mind before the debate?

It still scares me that our futures are held in the hands of such.

7 What was great was when Romney kicked Jim Lehrer's ass, then he kicked Obama's ass, then he ran out of asses to kick. So he just kept whaling on the asses he had. He should have taken volunteers from the audience, so he could kick their asses, too. He was like Rambo up there. The libs were wrong about the handkerchief. That wasn't a cheat sheet, that was a list of names.

11 Round two coming. Keep your gloves up Mitt. Don't go for the ropeadope and get KO'd by the sneaky one. You want to see a poll swing, just watch if Mitt is not up to speed on offshore policy (or foreign policy, if you prefer). For everyone who knows that the money, the economy, is directly hooked to global events, there is no more important sporting event. Jab, Mitt, jab and be patient.

14 I keep wondering if Barry is going to come to the next debate overly eager to prove that he has a pair.  I bet he try's to go gangsta.  Furthermore, who is the next liberal douche bag moderator?  He/She will certainly be fully informed of Lehrer's lack of protecting Barry/attacking Romney.

What in the hell is Obama going to claim as a foreign policy accomplishment? He had one: killing bin Laden. But then our Libyan ambassador got killed in an operation linked to Al Qaeda, with a trail of negligence running to Washington.

So efforts against Al Qaeda are a mixed bag. As is policy with: Iran, Israel, Russia, China, Pokeeschtan, India, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia, you friggin' name it. Arab Spring, Libya and Syria? Please. Is Egypt is or is Egypt ain't our ally?

Obama does not have a serious foreign policy success under his belt. He's a sitting duck.

Guerilla Campaigning this week:

At Great Clips in the salon loud enough for the stylists to all hear:  You didn't see the debate?  You did not miss much, Obama looked terrible.  Ummms, ahhs, rambling.  He was looking at the ground, looking at his notes, I think he really wanted to get out of there.  Does he really want to be President?

You can see the debate on C-span.  Yes, Obama really looked bad.  Romney looked like a president.  Facts, figures, BAM, BAM!  He looked sharp, much better than Obama, looked like President Romney.

At the gas station to a guy about twenty feet away, loud enough for everyone at all three islands to hear:  How high are these prices going to go?  Too bad Obama hates the Keystone pipeline.  Imagine all the jobs there would be there for Minnesota workers?  I know a lot of union welders and fitters on the bench.  Gas prices would drop too.  I heard Romney and the canadians want the pipeline.

35 Of course the debate still matters. It may have been the ultimate turning point. Obama has to do what Romney did, but twice. I don't think he had it in him. He was exposed, finally, and Mitt gave a hell of a first impression on those who only knew him from the negative MSM coverage pre-debate.

37 All Romney needs to do is be an acceptable alternative to those that don't want to vote for Obama [again].  Don't be crazy/stupid and it's a done deal.  Let it be a referendum on the past 4 years.

50 Preference cascade may be annoying, but in this case it may be justified. The man has not been challenged. The hardest questions he has had in 3+ years came from a Univision interview. Opposition from the population is suppressed with calls of racism. I just got called out by a libtard yesterday. Eff him. When people realize it is ok to express their preference openly, a lot of those supposedly "undecided" folks may end up moving away from the man if they feel it is now ok to do so. More move, then more feel comfortable. Seems logical. Or just call it a fad. I can take that too. :-)

56 I think preference cascade is the diplomatic way of referencing those people outside of the critical thinking realm, and ironically right now their vote IS critical.

Their opinion gets formulated when it seems favored by momentum or part of a currently acceptable trend.

Just as undecided is a softened blow for uninformed fence sitters.

The country is headed towards the cliff and there are 2 dramatically different choices and directions to go with and you're "undecided" even now?

What do you need, a gun to the head?

I guess it shouldn't be surprising at a time when one of pop culture's most oft asked questions is "are you feeling me?"

Obama's version of Reagan's quote would be something like "I am the government, and I'm here to help myself.  You see, you didn't build that, government made that happen.  So, everything you have here, is actually mine.  And I'm going to leave you only your fair share, as I define it, so that others who I think deserve it also get a fair share."

67 My dad went to Georgia Tech back when they build Techwood, one of the first housing projects in the nation. He said back then, folks would get laid off and move in for maybe six months when they were between jobs. It was meant as a temporary support net. I'll tell you what Economic Patriotism means--it means going out and making the biggest pile of cash you can, because when private citizens do well, they buy more, which turns the wheels of the economy, which makes the country stronger.

84 What I don't understand is why white liberals think they can expunge their guilt by contracting others to support the black underclass.

I do not believe in collective guilt nor collective salvation.  It is individuals who must be responsible for their own souls.

Making ME pay for stuff is not repentance and making amends. For one thing,  I believe the governmental policies we have had since the late 60's have destroyed millions of families and countless lives.   It is forcing me to participate in what I consider sinful. Secondly,  the liberal guilt is never assuaged because,  deep in their hearts,  they know they haven't received forgiveness.

White liberals are no better than those wealthy conscriptees during the Civil War who hired someone else to go fight.

86 Those promoting redistribution are never the same as those contributing to the welfare of the indigent.

Obama does not donate his own personal income to the poor, not even for his own brother!

Hollywood does not donate their own wealth to the poor. They take their cut from the proceeds of their gala "charitable events" that are all about themselves on the take, never really about improving life for the poor except through self aggrandizing lip service of how much "we care".

Warren Buffet can talk 'til he's blue in the face about how he should pay more taxes, but he has yet to put the money where his mouth is. Talk is cheap, liar and miser.

Redistribution is piracy. The wealthiest will not be the losers of their wealth. The wealthiest ALWAYS have connections and insulation and the best legal protection money can buy. The "well intended" greedy government officials don't put their money into the charity kettle, either. But they conduct highway robbery and burglary to steal from the middle class working stiff in order to make life that much harder, while pocketing the bulk of the robbery take themselves, and casting pennies at the paupers. Sticky finger politicians try to brow beat tax payers into feeling guilt for the corruption of the sticky finger politicians.

Consider well where "redistribution" leads regarding your private property and real estate. Land redistribution and the seizure of private ownership FOR THE GREATER GOOD is nothing new on this continent.

93 Thanks, Chemjeff. My poor Mom😓 I live your analogy, Miss Marple, with the wealthy conscriptees, and just may have to borrow it. But at least they didn't force us to pay for their benefit! Unearned reward = a perversion of human nature, especially in those with a preference for lazing and grazing. I have been deeply involved in two charities which I considered to be worthwhile. I got church groups to spend Saturdays and Sundays preparing meals for a Salvation Army family shelter, only to have them quit after being mistreated by the "clients". I worked for a shelter for pregnant women. I eventually gave up, disheartened by the ungrateful entitlement attitude and continued reckless behavior. My family needs me more.

99 The thing that so amuses me about Obama's whole "Mitt is a dirty dirty liar" response to this drubbing is that Obama still has to debate Romney 2 more times! This just gives Romney a platform to clearly explain that he was telling the truth and Obama is lying about him. I mean cmon this is just too damned easy. Additionally we have Paul Ryan the policy wonk prince debating next. Paul can explain in detail why Mitt wasn't lying. Oh this will be sweet.

Good news indeed.  Hopefully Romney and his campaign do not let up for one second, Soetero and the MSM that protect him are now cornered animals, most dangerous.  Romney better be prepared, Candy Crowley is an Obot, I hope they take all this into account in their debate prep.

103 Suddenly, for Morons, the debates become as popular as the next season of "Justified."

The momentum, after Wed, was all systems go on Thursday. So the Democrat Debase look around, consult Valerie J. (aka Mama Says) and she strong-arms someone to adjust a few two-tenths of a point on unemployment numbers (with a disclaimer: DO NOT show that the numbers did not move for blacks or Hispanics, dood). Barry trots out his new numbers, with only two digits and a decimal point so he can sort of remember. He also had the teleprompter.

On the 6pm FOX News last night, Barry was in a windbreaker, looking tough as there was rain on his mighty shoulders, surrounded by a bunch of wimmen somewhere all blissed out of their Spanx. If you see it you will crack up. It was so staged. Barry must have, prior to the photo op, said, "I have some big news for you." Anyway, an older woman with glasses to his left had her big ole mouth agape prior to his numbers. I guess she had to have a head start on her joyful surprise. It was so corny and so staged, plus he was reading from a teleprompter, so all was well, Barky was in the saddle again. Ridin' high. Enveloped in adoration. Gummy grin (check). Jokey prods against Romney instead of touting his own accomplishments, which are none (check). Doin' his thang, y'all, and auditioning for his late night comedy show (check).

One more month. Please pray every single day for unity of the Republicans, protection and safety for Romney/Ryan and their families, protection for our country, and the defeat of Obama and his policies. I am going to spend less time online and more time praying for our country. Blessings to you all.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Declaring that the nation is in a "jobs crisis," Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is charging ahead with his economic arguments in spite of unemployment dropping to its lowest level since President Barack Obama took office.

Romney all but ignored the positive jobs numbers while campaigning Friday night in Florida

How dare Mitt ignore those wonderful make believe numbers

105 Stinkyfeet@38: "That Romney fellow, I'm starting to like the cut of his jib."

What a silly remark! Don't you know "a knife-edge crease in his trousers"  is a much more accurate measure of the man?

108 The Rasmussen numbers out today now have Romney ahead by 2, a jump of 4 points from his numbers pre-debate.

Any pundit who seriously claimed that 67 million could watch that and it wouldn't matter (I'm looking at you, Bob Beckel) needs to have his head examined.

109 Just want to point out these things usually go more liberal on the weekend, especially long weekends, since conservatives - you know, the ones with *jobs* - tend to not answer calls from idiot pollsters on weekends... and this is a long weekend for some of us. In other words, this may portend something even better than we're seeing right now. Mew

112 Rasmussen's numbers now show a four point bounce. I can't wait for next week when the weekend dem heavy samples shoot out of Rasmussen's poll to see how much of a bounce it really is.

Sigh...I can see the headlines now, "AL QAEDA RESURGENT IN LIBYA, REQUIRES NUCLEAR RESPONSE".

In other news, Christina Aguilera stated, "The Libyans frighten me". Secretary of State Clinton comforted her and replied, "Don't worry honey, I've got you covered."

114 A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Gary Johnson. ' --- The winner of the election is going to be Romney or Obama. Period. This is not debatable. It is A or B. Binary. There is no C. Therefore, "not A" = B. A vote for Gary Johnson is in fact a vote for Obama. You don't have to like it, or even admit it, but it is nonetheless.
