Breitbart to Release Unedited Obama Race Video
— rdbrewer

Buzzfeed tried to scoop them by releasing an edited version. The video is of Obama speaking at Harvard in 1991 in support of racial hiring practices. Obama was supporting Derrick Bell, a Harvard professor advocating the hiring of blacks over other ethnic and racial groups.

Earlier today, Buzzfeed’s Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released “the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.”

. . .

However, the video has been selectively edited--either by the Boston television station or by Buzzfeed itself. Over the course of the day, Breitbart.com will be releasing additional footage that has been hidden by Obama's allies in the mainstream media and academia.

More from The Daily Caller.

Get the popcorn ready.

"Get the popcorn ready."

Or not. It seems that the only way to make this of any interest is to shed light on the professors at the heart of the protest. Obama was barely scratched when his (more recent) association with domestic terrorists and a racist pastor were exposed. Now the hope is to make something of an even older association with some lesser-known race-baiters?

The only way this means anything is if people give a shit what these professors stand for, or stood for in 1991. This will be an early test for the good folks at Breitbart without their leader. I hope they're up to it.

This stuff isn't hidden and the stuff that is isn't hidden well.  Barky is worst liar I've ever seen and he lies constantly.  The MFM can't cover that up and they haven't.  American's have known and do know.  That's the scary part.

Well, that's an overstatement, I think.  Most white people don't think white people deserve it, but they do give blacks more leeway because of (recent!) history.

I don't think it's right; it is self-evidently wrong.  But it's also something that's fading as Americans come to grip with the past and the present.

The race card is being played as viciously and aggressively as the left can, but it's slowly and steadily losing its power.

With Barky and his gang, it's their essential hate of America (which their white-hate is just representative of) and the fact that they're retards who shouldn't be trusted with anything of value, in any event.

I agree.  But it's on the decline.  I'm optimistic.

And a lot of reason for the decline is the fact that the civil rights movement gave blacks the upward mobility they had been denied.  So, what's beginning to happen is... we're actually seeing self-made successful black Americans.  This is what drives the "race traitor" crap black Republicans have to put up with; leftists can't have blacks succeeding without their assistance, because it renders the race card obsolete.

Let me ask a few inconvenient questions.

How did JEF get to be so important, that he would essentialy MC the event on the video tape? On the tape, JEF is not a great speaker, barely even "good", and not particularly sincere or motivated; he doesn't even sound like the usual True Believer who leads such rabble. Would the position of editor of the Harvard Law review, by itself be enough? I think "no", which suggests that he was involved in other activties ... what other activities? With whom? My guess is that these activities will trace back to Columbia ... and to contacts.

My recollection of college life is that no one simply waltzes in from high school and becomes this sort of mover and shaker; even heavily recruited football athletes aren't this important until at least their junior year. But connected students ...  JEF ... who did he know, well enough to get this sort of juice, besides the various radicals and muslims from Chicago and Columbia? Or are they it, and the relationship is much longer and deeper, and therefore obligated, than anyone lets on?

The facts that seemingly no one remembers JEF from Columbia, and no transcripts, papers or histories of any sort are available (tax records?), now becomes a bit more disturbing.

275 AD: Quite correct. The thought I had in my mind was that he apparently never wrote anything for the HLR, yet was in charge, thus the quick jump to Editor.

But the video shows JEF in a clearly important position; it isn't just that he got voted or appointed, but that he also did things that were clearly considered very important by very many people at Harvard ... yet he has no visible means of having obtained credentials.

The magnitude of JEF's presence, and its apparent importance to the time and place of Harvard are becoming clear; he wasn't some forgotten student ... he had juice.  Yet no one seems to remember ..... How did this happen? Who did he know, and what does he owe?

Barky was an editor.  The Precedent was chosen from among the editors - 40 of them.  What changed when Barky was there was that 20 of the editor positions had been opened up to "essay contests" (which means, "I'll pick people for whatever reason I want") in order to goose minority representation among the editors (Harvard was actually proud to proclaim how these lowered standards would do just that).  Barky never seemed to actually do anything involving editing, though, and the one piece of shit that has his name on it was not even up to high school level (not the high school I went to, at least).

Clearly he was being fast-tracked repeatedly, and it wasn't based on his own accomplishments alone. The lack of a reviewable record is proof of that.

I just wanted to remind people that editor actual requires academic merit; president requires popular merit which are not at all comparable. It's yet another narrative that has been conflated, intentionally so, so that Obama gets yet another attribution of "smarts." He isn't. Clever, conniving, sure. I'll tune into Hannity tonight but I expect a giant nothingburger to come out of it. If all this tape does is show a young ignorant bigoted radical Barry singing the praises of an old ignorant bigoted radical, nothing whatsoever will come of it.

By now, the whole country can see every day that Obama holds America not in warm regard but deep seething contempt. A substantial chunk (the coalition that elected Obama in 200 seem to be entirely OK with that, because he's cool and edgy and hip and he cares so much more than anyone else and because rich people suck so it's all good when we spread the wealth.

So absent some incendiary remarks that the Obamedia simply cannot excuse, I think this roll out ends with a pitiful whimper not a bang, aggressively abetted by non-stop media criticism, (which will happen anyway regardless of whats on the tape).

Meanwhile, as we sit here and spend our precious bodily fluids debating whether Sandra Fluke is a slut or a saint, we're stuck with the most leftwing President in American history, and a likely GOP nominee who is a walking gaffe machine who cant explain in 25 words or less why he has been running for President since at least 2007.

Good times!

Posted by: Serious Cat at March 07, 2012 05:36 PM (2YIVk)

344 This is why it matters that the President of the United States is a fan of a critical-race-theory prof:

http://tinyurl.com/6nbs8ly

If you are white and if you have to go to a publically-funded school, black racism is a reality. Black racism will seek to drive you out, assuming you are not killed. (And then black racism will destroy blacks . . . we'll get to that.)

At the extreme, we have the Detroit riots in the 1960s. When our conservatives here talk about how "liberals" destroyed the city: nuh uh. It wasn't liberals. Liberals just wrung their hands and let it happen. It was racists who happened to be black (or blacks who happened to be racist, whichever) who rioted, who ran up the crime stats.

We can talk about how bad the Tulsa riot was in the 1920s; we can call that riot a pogrom and so forth. Sure. It was awful. But what do we call the Detroit riots, then? That was more recent. Also, Tulsa didn't become a smoking ruin after those riots. How was Tulsa in the 1960s? How is Detroit now?

Posted by: Boulder Toilet Hobo at March 07, 2012 05:37 PM (QTHTd)

345 His record is damning enough if the media truthfully reports it. They, the media, have to be so discredited that vast majority of voters no longer trusts them. That was Breitbart's life's work. If there are more damning videos to come, this hug video will bring g out all his propagandists to get smacked with more damning video.

351 I am of two thoughts on this. First, not such earth shattering news in and of itself. Certainly interesting and a good start to vetting zero. However, I am confused about all of the hype. I am not sure who is responsible for the hype but no one who likes America was well served by the hype. On the other hand, it was a good way of lighting up the enemy defenses - say you are have the goods on zero and watch the radars light up and the fighters launch. in this instance it is useful because you get insight into what their responses are / would be for a similar problem later on. I think the Breitbart guys are as interested in vetting zero so they are demonstrating the complicity of the media in enabling zero and the leftists. while the tape was not a grand slam it was a good first step and the mfm really did show their hand in their response.

1. Someone altered the Buzzfeed tape.

4.  As soon as there was news that the Breitbart folks had the tape,  an altered copy appeared on Buzzfeed.

Although the existence of this tape was known, and the PBS station in Boston had it, it never saw the light of day. ("Radicals? What radicals?") 4. As soon as there was news that the Breitbart folks had the tape, an altered copy appeared on Buzzfeed. 5. THERE ARE MORE TAPES. Hannity, as usual, confused the issue with his well-meaning but poor interview skills. Do not be disheartened. Breitbart people! Contact me for better presentation of yourselves on TV! You need wardrobe and hair consultants!@ Posted by: Miss Marple at March 07, 2012 09:52 PM (GoIUi) I agree with your thoughts on the tape. Hannity is a moron and I do not mean that in the nice way. they need to find a better show for the next release. not o'reilly, not oh who knows were to go.

359 so no thread for the tapes?

360 My favorite part about Derrick Bell:

"This is a man so extreme that, as weÂ’ve reported, he wrote a story in 1993 in which he posited that white Americans would sell black Americans into slavery to aliens to relieve the national debt, and that Jews would go along with it."

They want to parody us?  When we've got this shit?

361 logprof, you're great American.

362 Thanks for the recap, gang.  It evidently went about as I expected.  (Saw a brief clip on Breitbart TV but just a couple of minutes.)

Unless this is only Chapter 1 of a very lengthy story, I see no gain.

"Rev Wright acted stupidly"

Oh, but hey Hannity has McCain on, so that should help/

364 376 .. stop saying we are fucked. Get off your ass and get some people to the polls and then we don't have a problem with Obama. How about the party gets together and votes the eventual nominee no matter who it is. It only takes every.single.registered Republican getting out and voting to make him go away. So stop saying we are fucked.

Posted by: osu at March 07, 2012 06:00 PM (Eka3u)

365 osu, we are fucked.

I'm still going to vote (even if I have to hold my nose for Mittens) and I'm going to drag as many people to the polls that I can. But I'll never forget how I hoped against hope in 2008 when I knew we were fucked. The truth has always been that there was never a viable candidate that would be ready on the Right until 2016. The GOP is in total shambles and the Right is fragmented. This simply can't be fixed by Nov. Shit, these days I find myself at odds with so-called "republicans" as much as I do Leftards.

So yes, I'll still fight. But the reality is- we are fucked.

366 /soapbox off Posted by: chemjeff at March 07, 2012 10:03 PM (7FadD) I have been rereading a lot of stuff on the founding of the country and early days of the country lately. i have pulled up a copy of the DofI. I really like it and I especially like the the last sentence: "And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor." I am not suggesting anyone do anything precipitous but I think it is useful for everyone to understand how dangerous it was to found this country and how dedicated the founders were. simply preserving it requires as much attention and entails far less risk.

368 Bah on the negativity.  I lived through Lyndon Johnson and james Earl Carter.  These types of people wear thin on Americans, as Obama is currently doing.

Just press on.

Limbaugh?  "Terrible thing, and by the way,  what exactly is Obama doing about gas?"

Contraception? "What?  Did they shut down Planned Parenthood?  Have you seen the price of bacon?"

Redirect everyone's attention to the White House and make them fae how bad things are.  Do it nicely,  and don't bother arguing about the BS stuff.

We can win this if we all don't go to bed and pull the covers over our heads like a bunch of wusses.

This is a BAD MAN who is president of our country.  He is EVIL.   Get off your butts and get busy!

369 Not much huh?Well I think they were taken by surprise by the early release this morning. The hug doesn't make it much worse.I can't believe Andrew would think this would do harm to Obama... there must be more out there...

371 One thing I should mention...

On the way to pick up the dog at the groomer's this evening I was listening to Hannity on talk radio.  He had "Joe", from Breitbart, on the show.  Joe made reference to "tapes", plural.

Let's hope they have more because this one was a dud.

Former Breitbart strategy, lead with a jab, hits, moves

MSM throws a round house denial left. misses

Breitbart throws a jab, hits, moves

MSM throws an looping left uppercut, misses, leaves left jaw open.

Breitbart throws short right cross.

TKO.

Ya know his strategy is still here. He may be too.

It's early Champ.

Who ya fightin' determines how ya fight. He got no right , so body shot him there. When his ribs get sore, he'll drop his arm to protect his ribs, opening "the button" on his jaw, and his mush. Throw a soft one or two at the jaw, tire him out, make him defend everything, and load one for the kisser. Game over.

Politics is Boxing, not pillowfights. A-B-O

So the video in question shows Barack Obama embracing (both literally and figuratively) a race baiting radical professor some twenty years ago. And apparently the media was complicit in covering it up.

Sorry folks, but none of this is news. Nor will it have any impact on the 2012 presidential elections or the conduct of the media in this country.

In other far more substantive news, Libya, one of President Obama's foreign policy "successes", is unravelling as the oil rich east demands greater autonomy and is prepared to fight for it. I'm sure that will end well.

Interesting segment on CNN this a.m.  A BIG editor being hammered by two interviewers, who kept interrupting to say "Yes, I'll let you talk in a minute, it's just important for viewers to understand that Critical Race Theory is a real theory, you don't understand it and you don't know what you're talking about".

If that's the treatment it's getting from the "media", then someone doesn't want CRT out there in the open, other than "It's REAL and you aren't capable of understanding it because you aren't a Harvard Lawyer like the President or a Harvard professor like Bell, so just move along nothing to see here."

Which means there may be something there to keep dripping on out.

Like 20 years in a pew at the right reverend Wright's church wasn't a very smart place to be, and leaving the church four years ago won't cover those 20 years this time around.

Depends.  If it were a white kitten, that would probably be okay with most of his supporters.
