— rdbrewer Classy, urbane Tom Brokaw makes fun of Mitt Romney on MSNBC. You know, MSNBC, where the elegant people go.
He made fun of Romney's "white man's overbite." That's something I never heard of before. Apparently there is some racial stereotype attached to white people who are having fun. Something to do with the teeth.
From Mediaite:
Seasoned broadcast veteran Tom Brokaw appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and did a hilarious impression of one of Mitt Romney‘s trademark facial tics — the “white man overbite.” Prior to Brokaw’s imitation, the other panelists were discussing what the Republican hopeful had to do to corral conservative supporters.
. . .
“I have not seen that dance step from the Romney campaign,” Brokaw observed. “I mean, that’s a really slow move, and he tends to go one way and crashes into the wall and goes out or you know, he goes out and does the white man overbite!”
The MSNBC panel thought that was hi-larious. That's just the way they roll at MSNBC. They're full of class.
Also, you can catch Brokaw all week at Gotham Douchebag Comedy Club.

Romney has a sort of funny way of walking.....like baby steps....I'm sure I am not the only one who has noticed it.
Santorum has his share of little personal 'ticks' that they will use, if he is the nominee. .....Newt, well....they will go after his weight, his gray hair, his age.
They will use any sort of attacks they can think of.....to keep from even mentioning the real Issues.

But if the best MSNBC has is his ethnicity, I was mistaken.
I do think Romney has a terrible record and I don't trust him, but I don't really love the other guys at all. The primary is a disaster, especially with Republicans actually defending what happened in VA and even calling the guy screwed out of a state "whining" about how the process was ruled "unconstitutional". I don't know what got into this party this year.

She ceased to be a "private citizen" the instant she tried to publicly convince the legislative body of this nation that contraception should be a right. Her life least in as far as she made the argument became public at that point.

Romney: "Well, my message is IÂ’m not going to say outrageous things about the president or about my opponents. ... And we need, as a nation, to come together to recognize that even though we have differing views about the country and about where we should go, we all love the country." (March 5, '12, Kudlow Report, CNBC)
Sure. And by “love it,” what Romney means is “seeking to fundamentally transform it.” Kinda like the husband who shows his great love for his wife by pushing her to get a nose job, tit implants, Botox treatments, collagen lip injections, and a nice dye job — while requesting that she please just not open her fucking mouth and talk quite so much, if she wants to please him.
Romney is going to speak “with respect” to people who are supporting the deconstruction of the First Amendment. Who have backed unconstitutional mandates. Who are attacking the very idea of private industry. Who cheer when this President circumvents Congress and acts like a dictator, dismissive of the checks and balances purposely built into our system of governance.
Hell, he may even show how willing he is to cross the aisle and support the Democrats, if that brings about a sense of comity.
And yet when it comes to speaking about Gingrich or Santorum, Romney has done nothing but lie.
ItÂ’s like 2010 never happened. This is 2008 all over again, only younger then, and with better hair.
I think Mitch McConnell was right, in the aftermath of the 2008 trouncing: the GOP is destined to become a regional party. Though not for the reasons the GOP establishment thinks. TheyÂ’ve already lost me. And I suspect IÂ’m not alone.
Fuck it. Let it burn.

This BS gets trotted out all the time. It's pathetic and asinine and death to any notion that politics should follow from principles rather that picking sides.
A lot of you fucktards approach politics like its a high-school click or some stupidity. It's all about "our side" and it's eternal war with the enemy.
To me, politics is about principles, and principles are only worth anything if you follow them for their own sake, not follow them when they're advantageous and ditch them the second they might not be.
So I take it as a conservative principle that feigning outrage and making accusations of "racism!!!" for political advantage is pathetic, silly, and a bad practice. The fact that the Left does this is not of my concern. If you want to imitate them, then feel free; but don't call me a RINO for refusing to imitate the worst elements of the Left along side you...mkay?

The media knows that the fringes of both the right and the left are emotionally driven and not logic driven. If they can appeal to the emotions of the far right of the Republican party, the battle is over because logic never trumps feeling with those on the extreme right and extreme left.
Having a more "pure" conservative candidate is more important to people on the far right than winning the election. The ones at the very fringe of the extreme believe the more extreme right the candidate, the better their chances of winning. Just as people on the extreme fringe of the left believe that the more extreme left the candidate the more popular they would be. Logic can not harm them because their emotions are like a shield of steel.
A vote for Santorum is a vote for Obama. The media will assist in any way they can in order to diminish Romney and boost Santorum because getting Santorum nominated would mean the election is over. Obama wins without even having to campaign.

I really wish I could agree with you, but our education system has produced a couple of generations of people who feel like they're informed, but aren't. And no amount of information and facts that tell them otherwise is going convince them that perhaps their views aren't true.
After all, my history prof told me something completely different. He's a teacher, he knows.

IÂ’m in Texas. I donÂ’t get to vote until May.
Nobody wants Texas setting any trends, and we are the second most populous state. They just want us to go along once all the momentum is built or just sit out the primary and wait for the general. IÂ’m in Austin so no one gives much of a fuck about us anyway. ItÂ’s like a trekkie meeting from the late 80′s in a library open-meeting room. And if you manage to get sent up to the state level you get some barbecue and a couple of shitty t-shirts. Our local-gov assholes canÂ’t even get the voter registration cards out because we are still arguing over the new districts that a court decided to overturn before THEIR replacement districts got overturned and now itÂ’s spinning in court like a survivor turd in a modern low-water-use flush toilet.

I don't care that Brokaw made what could be construed as a racist remark. No skin off my snout. *shrug*
What I DO care about is that NO ONE IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA WILL MAKE A PEEP ABOUT IT.
(yes, I am shouting there. Forgive me.)
It's the double-standard that infuriates me, and THAT'S why I'm perfectly happy calling Tom Brokaw a bloated gas bag who's swallowed too much methane from kissing Obama's ass all day. By belittling and denouncing what Brokaw said, we force the left to live up to their own rules. When they start screeching like hungry harpies on the prowl for their next meal, it means we're getting to them. Keep making them scream and eventually they scream themselves hoarse, and then they scream themselves silent, and then they scream themselves gone.

Bwahahaha, from drudge link.
A local school district is apologizing after an apparent incident of racism at a boys high school basketball game this past weekend.
When the final whistle blew Saturday, Alamo Heights celebrated a convincing victory over San Antonio Edison.
Alamo Heights Head Coach Andrew Brewer said he was proud of his team.
"Tremendously proud,” Brewer said. “Tremendously. It's the best group of kids."
But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans.
"USA, USA, USA," they chanted.
San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a racial insult to a school with all minority players from a school with mostly white ones. <<<<<
And there you have what happens when the schools (and Brokaw) attempt to say racism against whites is ok. You are gonna get some pushback.

I'm from a country where the party conventions are always open. You have a first vote and then the lesser candidates drop out and throw their support one way or the other. A second vote and more candidates drop out and then it usually ends on a third vote. One long weekend to decide the leader and then you get to work against the real opponent. You've spent the last 6 months fighting each other and wasting money that could be used to fight the left.

Wasn't this the problem in '08 and '10 as well? It seems like everytime a conservative (or even just run-of-the-mill republican) tried to talk issues they were shouted down by the left saying "Why can't you just stick to the issues?" Maybe the lesson is the left doesn't mean the issues, they mean their issues.

While your're wringing your hands over whats nice and not too nice to say, they are excoriating you and everything you believe in; pantsing you and taking your lunch. Whats worst is that they've been doing this to the country for 80+ years and look where it has got us. Now is the time to mock louder, shout louder and call them out for what they are. Fight fire with fire, unless of course you are just a concerned troll. Are you a concern troll jason or a fighter? If the former then I simply but politely ask you to leave.

Because Western left-wingers are those weak personalities that couldn't handle the normal guilt mechanism that Western Civilization uses as its main control mechanism - like kids who can't hear ghost stories without getting nightmares for weeks afterwards. Lefties' guilt mechanisms run out of control and swamp them with illusory, disconnected guilty feelings. They can't get away from these feelings that make them feel bad about everything good. So, they blame the people who foisted this guilt on them - generally their fathers and authority figures - and spend the rest of their pathetic, illusory guilt-ridden lives trying to kill themselves and everything that symbolizes the system that made them feel so guilty.
