It's been well-known that the Islamic Civilization "softened the continent up" well before the Europeans got there, making it ripe for most of the pathologies we see today. It continues to do so. I always get pissed when I see these TV programs begging for people to feed starving African children. That continent is more capable of feeding its inhabitants than any on earth.
