CAC And I Talk Polling And The Election
— DrewM

Calling this a podcast would be overstating the facts just a bit. Call it....an experiment that might lead to an actual HQ Podcast.

In the meantime enjoy CAC talking about his favorite thing....polling.

We don't have a fancy (or any) theme song (yet) so we pick the action up right away with CAC talking about everyone's favorite swing state....Ohio and the myths about early voting numbers there.

Oh and a bit of caution...this is the first time I've ever actually spoken to CAC and he has a bit of a potty mouth So if you're at work....use your headphones.

Also, below the fold, John E. illustrates what happens when a lightweight like Obama tries to throw Hillary under the bus.

Hillary Smash puny morons like Obama.

50 This is O/T and will probably get buried in the last thread but it's amusing and worth sharing. My wife is an embedded conservative principal in a very urban, liberal school district. A gentleman shows up at her school this morning decked out in his Obama garb and asks her what she'd like to buy to show her support. He'd been referred to her by another principal in the district. She told him to leave. She said he stood there stunned for a minute and then left. And btw, she wore her brightest red dress this morning to silently demonstrate her support of Romney/Ryan. Good times.

You can do a decent job using Audacity  (which is free)  to record a Skype  (also free). call, as long as the interviewee has a better quality microphone than what your typical laptop ships with.

So then you think he should be saying "shit" even more, right?

I mean, he's a Moron.  We do have standards.

115 CAC, can we haz a BIG, colorful map of Senate predictions?

Ras ... Indiana 54-41 Romney. So can RCP make it solid Romney now?

I've had this solid  red since 2008.  No way IN was going to make that mistake twice.  I'm  more interested in when they are going to move OR, NJ or Minn to toss-up?  Mark my  word,  one of those states is shifting.

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

118 Someone  somewhat  took  responsibility  for  Benghazi  and  someone  did  not.  I  made  Barry  look  like  an  ass  and  I'm  in  Peru!  Wait  until  I get  back.  I'm  not  no  ways  tired  and  ready  to  open  up  a  can  of  whoop  ass!

How did Hillary admitting she is a total fuck-up get translated into her unleashing a can of 'whoop-ass?'

Her political career is a shambles.  She's an abject failure with a full-blown scandal on her hands.  It doesn't matter if Barry takes the fall or not after her.

120 122 I agree. I want to see some October numbers for Oregon. Just for grins and giggles.

I love it, but with home computer technology where it is, I bet you worked pretty hard on making the audio quality so low.

Still, keep going. Why not? Maybe 15-30 minute discussions to listening to while I run. Do it for me.

123 Florida has been solid Romney in the last 6 polls done there. When is that one and NC going to be moved to leans Romney and not tossup?

Politico healine article. "5 Unmet Obama Promises"

Wow are they all turning on him now ? Of course the article is crap.

126 So that's what Ace sounds like... Of course it could just be the acoustics in his secret compound/redoubt in case of Obama re-election...

127 Was that audio piped through a Speak-And-Spell?

It sounds like the bad automated audio from the test of the emergency broadcast system...

128 Obama is a stuttering clusterf*ck of a miserable failure.

129 Drew, you need to improve the audio before you do this sort of thing regularly.

There are two basic problems here: CAC's level is too low compared to yours, and the digital compression is too severe. I'm guessing that his voice is coming through VOIP, so there's already some severe digital compression built in, and then it was compressed again when encoded to mp3.

Digital compression goes wacky when confronted with noise, and CAC's VOIP connection is of course noisy, so all this combined is why he sounds like his voice is coming from a galaxy far, far away.

If you can't raise his volume to make it the same as yours, you need to do some hard limiting to compress the dynamic range, and do a higher bitrate when encoding to mp3.

I hope you do start this on a regular basis, because it's a fantastic idea.

Let's face it...  technology isn't something that AoSHQ excels at.

The audio is on par with the ability to use functions in the comments section.  I don't know why I was expecting anything different.

If someone does a transcript of what CAC mumbled, cracked and faded as Drew boomed in occasionally, please post it.
