— CAC Disapproval at 47%
Looks like that giant contraception distraction worked great, hunh?
First Rasmussen, then ABC, now CBS. Two out of three of these are usually the "rescue pollsters" we joke about. CBS gives Obama an edge over both frontrunners, but that edge has narrowed considerably. The President led Romney 48-42 in the previous poll, that has shrunk to 47-44. He also leads Santorum, now 48-44, down from his 49-41 lead.
I have officially upgraded from "meh" to "eh".
UPDATE- A moron emailed me asking what would take me from "eh to yeah?".
It would take state-level polling data showing a return to the Fall of 2011, when President Obama was watching his margins in light-blue states like Michigan, Maine, Connecticut and the like evaporate. When those states are harder for him to keep, the purple ones (OH, FL, VA, NC, NH, CO, IA, NV) are already gone, and I can stop breathing from the Bag of Visions.

Polls in September rarely tell us anything about the election's outcome. These are nice numbers. And I think it's indicative of a close race.

Even assuming you're right, what the hell is wrong with this picture? How the hell does he even rate 4 out of 10?
I actually have a theory: Gas prices are the last straw, in conjunction with the retardation being exposed as we pull the curtains back on ObamaCare (I think most Americans look at the contraception issue and are beginning to realize the sheer stupidity/corrosiveness of the legislation).
If it were fear of being perceived as racist that kept his approval higher than is intuitive, the issues above may have assisted in clearing that particular hurdle.

It is a shame that Americans will allow the oil companies to decide who will be President of the United States simply by adjusting the price of one of their products, gasoline, up or down at the right time.
enlightenu. Heh. Learned about the oil business from hollywood movies (Syriana?).
~
This just goes to show how stupid the public can be. No President, Democrat or Republican, has any control over gas prices. If you want to blame someone, blame the billionaires who own the oil companies and the speculators on Wall Street that jack up the prices. Get with it people. The stoopid is strong, my friends.
~I see the republicans are at it again, blaming gas prices on "scarcity", which has nothing to do with the price. Gasoline supply/demand ratio hasn't changed in 30 years. Really? Srsly? It has very much to do however, on people at the Wall Street national casino buying and selling oil futures and artificially inflating the price. We all pay this "tax" at the pump so rich speculators can make money for nothing. If you don't believe this, compare what gas prices were before and after the market crash in 2009. It fell by half, overnight.
Keef-level stoopidity right there. He has heard about this "supply/demand" thingy but seems unsure of what it means. And he heard a scary word that he put in quotes, meaning it isn't really scarcity. Brilliant! And he almost got the oil price timeline correct. The drop was due to Dubya deciding to open up the US for drillin'. All them "speculators" saw a risk to future prices and that drove prices down. Markets work. Game. Set. Match.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney (pictured bottom ), today stated:
"As a conservative, I think government is awesome and we have no reason not to trust it or its many lackeys and minions. Americans have lost faith in government and I cant wait to use my skills to get the giant government beast healthy and roaring."
later he added
"As a conservative I believe Obamas feelings are precious and he is very sensitive, that's why I work really hard to not blame him for any of the things he would be taking credit for if they were going well."

The Bernanke has to keep the printing presses at full blast because the Chinese are no longer buying T-Bills and the Fed has to keep buying them along with the MBS garbage. But fuel and food prices keep rising up, his "no core inflation" statements are being laughed at, and it's hurting the SCOAMF.
He's been trying to drop hints that there will be no more QE's or Twists, while the pros know that he's just trying to snow the currency traders while winking to Wall Street that the punch bowl will be kept full
The SCOAMF had the Strategic Oil Reserve trick yanked from him by his own comrades in the MBM, who in their zeal to blame Wall Street speculators keep telling the sheeple that we have more than enough oil in relation to the demand.

Group 1: 15% racists (against a white person if there is a non-white alternative)
Group 2: 15% public employees/union leaders/cronies/assorted freeloaders who will make more money under Obama than under any alternative no matter how bad the economy is
Group 3: 15% assorted idiots (leftists/idealists/nitwits/people who can't admit they were wrong in 2008/...)
And remember to be nice to the idiots--they are the swing voters! Groups 1 & 2 will never vote against Obama, but the idiots might change their mind or get demoralized and vote for Nader or something.

Wait a fucking second here.
How many people? Cell phones or only land lines? Where were they? Were they voters or adults or what?
Guarantee his real number is more like 38-40
Looked at the "internals" of this stupid poll. Something like 800 or so registered voters were interviewed, with a little over 300 stating that they planned to vote in Republican primaries. As said primaries are open in many many states, that is by no means any kind of indicator that the 300 or so interviewees were Republican.
Ergo, worthless poll. But we are talking about seebus and the pinchie times here- so this ain't particularly surprising.
Other than that, I suspect you're right but I'd go 33-36%.

If we were seeing that today it would not necessarily be a good thing. Campaigns are about pacing. Psychologically, people are moved by recent knowledge and any token's influence degrades superlinearly. So, people become habituated to old information, but are moved by recent things. Which is why things get heated up in September/October.
Ideally, Romney can effectively wrap this up by April and start prepping the battlefield by getting the sub-threshold Obama economic failure drumbeat going. Just enough to stay in people's subconscious.
I wouldn't expect to see the low-point for Obama's polling in those light-blue states until convention time when the RNC/Romney unloads the advertising and hit jobs. But, given Obama's current level is barely buoyant in what should be his 'happy time' -- right after the Republican infighting and media pushed economic recovery story -- it's looking good. Two indicators:
1) Romney's PAC has out-raised the top four democratic PAC's combined by nearly 4:1. Just today the democratic PACs decided to merge (http://tinyurl.com/7qo4znc).
2) The Democrats know they are missing their benchmarks and must not expect to make up the ground. They showed their hand by telling the down-ticket campaigns to not expect money flowing down.
Just wait to see his battleground approvals among independents after the Romney boys, Rove's PAC and the RNC go after him, dumping cash like it's 1999.

That would make sense. By the same logic, maybe the little creap wasn't directly involved herself.
The company has got to be getting pissed about the property damage. I hope there is a camera in your new set up and I hope the vandals strike again. It's really amazing that they are stupid and brazen enough to keep trashing company property given the high visibility (MD send out an email to your entire group), police involvement, Wolverine sent to the hospital in an ambulance, etc.

I think it's more a lack of fear of almost everything. This is a generation that has been protected like the Hope Diamond and insulated from the consequences of their actions right from the cradle. They honestly do not believe they are responsible for this (as has been pointed out by several others here) nor can they comprehend the possibility that they will suffer for it. It's all StuckOnStupid's fault and they are the innocent aggrieved.
That there are several of them and only one of SOS probably compounds their feelings of entitlement and invincibility. They're the majority so they MUST be right.

Old polling trick. Release bad numbers just as the election cycle begins, then as voting day approaches, Obama's numbers gradually rise by the magic of number juggling! And voila! Suddenly the "underdog" is "surging" in the polls thanks to the public's [pick one] distaste for the other candidate/ great job the president is doing which people are just now realizing/ recent news that shows the president in a positive light.

Another problem with SoS's story 'going viral'.....is that the bad guys might recognize themselves in the story.....and then bring the whole thing to the attention of SoS's boss.
This whole thing is not over yet. .....It is still in play. ....Putting SoS's story out there any more than it is now, could serious screw things up and prevent the bad guys from getting caught.
Posted by: wheatie at March 12, 2012 08:25 PM (aykLa)

ChrisP.....I know that his boss seems to be on his side....so far. ....But that could change, if Che-boy, or one of the people that have been fired so far, printed out all of his postings and went waving them to her, saying "Look. He's been posting this on the internet".
Once it has all played out....the vandals caught, fired and prosecuted....the senders of the death threats dealt with....then it would probably safe for the story to get out there. ....But right now, it just seems like the potential for harm exists.
Posted by: wheatie at March 12, 2012 08:38 PM (aykLa)
Were a third party company that handles certain services, the account I work on is for a financial institution - and it's a casual dress environment. Can't really say much more than that without risking violating the NDA's - but ya, some people push that "casual" dress thing to an extreme.

Not the smoking gun I was looking for but I'm too tired to search further. It does indicate there is a non-disclosure agreement involved in employment there. Doubt the MSM would be so polite as to not dig for specifics should the story fall into their laps and they wished to further it. Especially since (given the tenor for which we rightly revile the MSM) they'd not be chary about SOS suffering any repercussions because of it.

For heaven shall remember the silent and the brave
And promise me they will never see, the fear within our eyes
(my eyes are closed)
We will give strength to those who still remain
So bury fear, for fate draws near
And hide the signs of pain
With noble acts, the bravest souls
Endure the heart's remains
Discard regret, that in this debt
A better world is made
That children of a newer day might remember
And avoid our fate
