Obama and Romney each have 46% support among registered voters in the CBS/New York Times survey, released this morning. Last month, the president had a 3-point lead over Romney, when he was still battling Rick Santorum.The latest poll comes on the heels of a Pew Research Center survey, which showed Obama's lead narrowing to 4 percentage points, and one by Gallup that showed Romney slightly ahead.
You know what? America just can't wait to vote for Obama again. It's just like Clinton in 96, when the economy had been growing for four years and now the unemployment rate is dropping sharply, and America's all like, "Oh man, we're havin' such a good ride right now, there's no way we wanna end this party."

Once more, I point to the active harm that was caused by TARP. If the market had just been allowed to "free fall" (as some claimed it would- I'm still skeptical about that, myself), we would have hit "bottom" in a year (tops) and we'd have good, solid, real valuations of current properties. Instead, we have nebulous, yea even ephemeral valuations of properties, and no everyone is still walking on proverbial eggshells.
And then ARRA came along and made things worse.

I was never a Romney guy this whole primary season but I hope he stomps Jugears into the dirt. Romney may not be the guy to fix everything that's broken but at least he isn't going to sabotage and undermine it.

2 Months really isn't all that long. Especially when you consider what else is going on around November/December and the fact that (for responsible presidents, anyway) it gives them time to wind down some of their operations and get ready for the new Administration to come in.
Sure, Barky's a SCOAMT, but that doesn't change the fact that the period is (potentially, at least) useful.

Completely off topic - but funny. I just heard from a friend who has a sibling in the US army in Kabul that one of the recent Taliban attacks in the capital blew a hole in a wall at military installation and a number of talibs streamed into the compound only to find that they had breached the facility at the receiving end of an active firing range. They were all quickly killed by the personnel at the range.

So, no, douchebag- the problem isn't his eating of dog when he was a child, it's him "writing" (if he even knows the contents of the book himself) about it afterwords with fond remembrance. It's the fact he took delight in watching a chicken die.
He really is a psychotic narcissist. My dad used to help my Grampa slaughter livestock (mostly cows), and my mom has plucked a chicken or two in her lifetime. Neither of them were thankful for the animal's last moments. That's just sick.

I was just reading on Rasmussen's methodology, and I don't think he is using a LV model at this point...
"Like all polling firms, Rasmussen Reports weights its data to reflect the population at large (see methodology). Among other targets, Rasmussen Reports weights data by political party affiliation using a dynamic weighting process. While partisan affiliation is generally quite stable over time, there are a fair number of people who waver between allegiance to a particular party or independent status. Our baseline targets are established based upon separate survey interviews with a sample of adults nationwide completed during the preceding three months (a total of 45,000 interviews) and targets are updated monthly. Currently, the baseline targets for the adult population are 36.1% Republicans, 32.8% Democrats, and 31.1% unaffiliated. Likely voter samples typically show a slightly larger advantage for the Republicans."
Interesting to note that Ras is showing a 33/36/31 D/R/I right now in his monthly partisan affiliation polls. That's a pretty interesting look at the electorate.
For fun, try reweighting the recent polls from other firms using that sample. You get a very bad picture for Obama.

2 Months really isn't all that long. Especially when you consider what else is going on around November/December and the fact that (for responsible presidents, anyway) it gives them time to wind down some of their operations and get ready for the new Administration to come in.
Sure, Barky's a SCOAMT, but that doesn't change the fact that the period is (potentially, at least) useful.
Just as importantly, it allows time for the President Elect to assemble a team before taking office. 2 months to assemble leadership for the most powerful nation in the world really isn't that long.
