CBS/NYT Poll: Romney 46% Obama 43%, But Wait for the Snark
— CAC

From the twitter feed of the newswoman at CBS who broke it:
@cbsjancrawford:
"War on Women? Romney now edges Obama among women, 46-44%, in new CBS/NYT poll."

So much time wasted on the false narrative, the fail is mighty tasty.

From the Article: Romney now leads the president among independents, while Mr. Obama has an advantage among moderates.

So proof that there is no such thing as an actual moderate I suppose?  Because this president is anything but moderate.  So all the "moderates" in this poll must swing really really far left.

20 Gateway Pundit has more on the black preachers coming out against the JEF.
Yeah, the blacks will vote 98% for the JEF, but as the preacher explains: His flock is staying home.

Here's some math for you stupid Dems: Which is greater, 98% of 65% of a population that is 13% of 300 million or 98% of 55% of a population that is 13% of 300 million?

But, let's assume it's not that bad, let's just say it drops back to the 2004 level of 60%. How many states did you win in 2008 via that extra 5% that won't be there this time? And I'm not even counting the drop you're going to get from white and Hispanic voters.

When you start running the math, the JEF stinks like shit from every direction.

I mean, his path to re-election meant he has to--HAS TO--hold nearly every single demographic at the exact same participation level as 2008.

51 Latest email from Obama and Company The Truth Team: Friend -- On the campaign trail, Mitt Romney points to his business experience as his chief qualification to be president -- pointing often to that background to explain how he'd boost the economy, how he'd create jobs, how he'd fix the budget. Watch this video we put together featuring people affected by Mitt Romney during his time in the private sector, and help hold him accountable by passing it along. It's important that you understand exactly what Romney did as a businessman, and whether the lessons and values he drew from that experience really do qualify him to be our president. In a career of buying and selling companies, Romney's pattern was to reap quick profits for himself and his investors, but often at the expense of workers and communities. Sometimes it meant outsourcing jobs to places like China and Mexico. Other times, it would mean reducing wages and benefits. At times, his firm would buy companies, load them with debt and pocket millions, even as the companies went bankrupt, costing workers their jobs, health care, and pensions. In Romney's world, CEOs and wealthy investors prosper by any means they can get away with, even when that means companies fail and workers are left behind. Two sets of rules -- one for people like him, another for the rest of us. It's our job to let people know the truth about Romney's record, and what it says about the economic vision and values he would bring to the presidency. The real strength of the economy is a growing, thriving middle class, not simply a band of successful financial engineers, and Romney doesn't get that. I sent the note below to the Truth Team, a group of grassroots supporters who've signed up to be on the front lines of doing just that. So check out this video: And consider becoming a part of the Truth Team -- we'd love to have your help. Thanks, Stephanie

76 It's not just wanting to look good for some pollster. There's a lot of people out there who probably don't give a fuck if a couple of gay men or lesbians want to hold a mock wedding.

But they do think that a President who thinks that's important to anyone is showing seriously bad judgement. Fewer people in this country are working than any time in the past thirty years. Debt is piling up at a rate most of us can't even really comprehend. The country has serious problems.

And President Obama thinks that it's important to let gay people pretend to get married?

That's not just shouting "Squirrel!" to distract people. That's shouting "Invisible Pixies!" and hoping someone will believe you. Just the fact that you say it makes you unreliable.

I think the polls about Gay Marriage are a case of people lying to the pollsters.

I know dozens of people who voted for Obama, all but two have "evolved" into hating him with the heat of a thousand suns.  Maybe they can't bring themselves to pull the lever for a Republican, but they sure as shit are perfectly willing to sit this one out.

And this is in heavily Democrat Palm Beach county FL...  The retired Jewish and retired Union vote is no longer solid for him here, and the blacks are clearly unenthusiastic based on bumper stickers, lawn signs, campaign apparel.  These same people would absolutely lie to pollsters fearing that there won't actually be anonymity, and there'd be retaliation against anti-Obama responses.

91 Meiczyslaw: In Mass, the problem is simply one of numbers. This is such a heavily-Dem state that the Republicans literally can't find candidates for all the offices. Especially since the combination of corrupt machine politics and in-the-tank media means that any Republican who runs will be put through the wringer, defamed, insulted, attacked, and doesn't stand much chance of winning. Who needs the grief?

106 @90 He pandered on gay issues. I did not say he said he supported gay marriage. In 1994 letter to Log Cabin group he wrote: " As a result of our discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters across the state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for America's gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent." And "We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employee Nondiscrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and the bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton's "don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue" military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation's military." And "I am not unaware of my opponents considerable record in the area of civil rights, or the commitment of Massachusetts voters to the principle of equality for all Americans. For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent's record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. " Source: www.boston.com/news/daily/11/romneyletterbaywindows.pdf So he said he intended to run to the left of the Democrat he opposed on gay rights issues. He doesn't need to go there (accusing Obama of prevaricating on gay issues) and he shouldn't, because it will blow up in his face.

I don't believe many people here object to giving gay partners access to their significant others in hospitals or situations like that.  And as far as inheritance,  it should be handled by a written will.

Obama specifically supported gay marriage,  then opposed it,  and now supports it again.  That is an entirely different thing.

180 This. If he bombs, he intends on pretending to be some Profile in Courage ( which was also ghostwritten BTW). It's all about the Narrative. I'm sure part of it is that he wants something they can point to as a "legacy", but honestly I don't think it's occurred to any of these asshat's that they might actually lose this election. I think their calculation is that they just need the base to turn out, and when you add that in with all the dead guys, felons, illegals and other fraudulent votes they manage to get counted in their favor that will be enough to win.

182 So here's a question that I think should be pursued by those with more time and writing skillz than I has.

What is it about Demonrat Presidents that requires them to ask their young children what decision to make on national questions?  James Earl Raghead III ("I HATES me some fuckin' kikes") asked Amy what to do when there was the problem at Three Mile Island.  The "man(?)" was a fucking nuclear engineer with a degree from Annaoplis!  What possible insight could a fifth-grader had to aid him?

Now we have the JEF saying to his 5th grader, "Take these two guys who like to fuck each other in the ass.  Should we give them the same social and governmental backing and endorsement as me an' yo' mamma?"  I'm sure I'm dreaming, but I really hope my boy has as little concept of just exactly what the hell someone is talking about with that question as *I* had (none) when he's in fifth grade.

And I'm sure Billy-whack asked Chelsea what her thoughts were about just drying out the cigar and smoking it anyway.

And they want to call *US* the children who need adult supervision?!?!

187 The end goal of the ghey marriage (from the far left) is to potentially destroy churches. If GM is declared as a "right" then Holders Dept of Injustice can sue on civil rights grounds and screw the churches over. I know that the Catholic Church wasn't going for gay marriage by Chaplains. IIRC some evangelicals also took this stance. I'm waiting to see if any Chaplains get disciplined for refusing to perform GM. that would be another major affront to Christianity so Zero will probably wait until after Nov to do anything, then again he doesn't seem to give a shit lately...

192 I'm with ya, love. My mom died a couple of years ago, and now as of this week, my liberal/socialist (her definition) sister, my only sibling, wants "nothing more to do" with me "ever." My husband and I have bailed her out of so many situations. I've given her money to take care of the adopted dog that her bi-polar ass has considered giving back to the center. Her politics have always been more important than our elderly parents and any family. I weep because I love my only sibling. She wouldn't care if I were hit by a car tomorrow. Jane, I'm very sorry to hear that. I know that it can't be easy for you, but in the long run maybe it is for the best. Perhaps now your sister will have to learn to stand on her own, and with any luck by doing so she will start to learn that many of the things you've been trying to tell her are actually true. I went through something somewhat similar with my oldest daughter for a while, and I understand how painful it can be - but in the end the only thing that finally got her to realize that what I was trying to tell her was true was to let real life beat the snot out of her for a while. Keep the faith Jane. If it is meant to be I'm sure the good Lord will open her eyes at some point.

193 Quoting: "But the enabling has got to end."

I'd have to agree with Jimbo, Jane.  Maybe a little dose of, "I'm sorry, aren't you supposed to be taking care of this yourself, being an adult?!"  would give her a quick view of what real life is all about.  It's worth a try, but I know its hard, having been in similar situations more than once!

As with other folks above, I used to be fine with civil unions.

Then the government decided it had the power to compel the largest faith in the country to violate its most deeply held beliefs over a product that a woman can buy a year's supply of for less than the cost of a tank of gas.

The end game is not for gays to be able to visit each other in the hospital and get each other's benefits, which no one would disagree with. The end game is to force religions to do yet more things that violate their conscience, under penalty of law. This administration is about destroying religion--at least Judeo-Christian religion.

134 It's apparent to me that "civil unions" has been the "Trojan horse" for the them to get to marriage.

It's all about the money.
1. Forcing employers to provide health insurance for the same-sex spouse.
2. Allowing surviving same-sex spouse to receive Social Security Survivor's benefits.
3. Allowing same-sex spouse to receive Medicare benefits.

Posted by: Jimbo at May 14, 2012 07:56 PM (O3R/2)

You're right.

It all started with the outbreak of AIDs (now normalized with the term HIV). Before it, gays laughed at the heterosexual practice of monogamy and prided themselves on their sexual promiscuity.

But when it came time to pay the bills for the original AIDs treatments (hundreds of thousands per year), all of a sudden getting health benefits from a "life partner" became a better idea than blatant promiscuity.

It's all a scam.

247 231 Frankly, maybe a little more blame for wrecking traditional marriage should be put on the easy availability of divorce (and frankly, of getting married in the first place). Gingrich, Rush, et al. have no sanction to argue that gay marriage will wreck hetero marriage. They've made a mockery of it themselves, as have all conservatives who cheat on their marriages even if they don't get divorced. (Liberals are expected to cheat.) If you've maintained the sanctity of your vows, that's one thing. Don't go through multiple marriages and regular infidelity, and then blame teh geys on wrecking the institution.

Posted by: SFGoth at May 14, 2012 08:29 PM (dZ756

Yeah Hetero's have so damaged marriage that we should just totally go ahead and turn it into a complete mockery by destroying all meaning behind  it to make a few gays happy and even more liberals happy at having an avenue to attack religious institutions.  Spending decades claiming "Get the government out of our bedrooms" only to now demand that not only must the government be in their bedrooms but applauding and cheering wildly.

248 Purple Avenger:  That's not November, that's a tsunami on the horizon. An epic, biblical. McGovern'esque tsunami.

The likelihood is increasing. Perhaps 10-15%.

This NYT polling sentiment is voter's projections based off the status quo linearly extending forward to November. (ie. the same 1.8-2% GDP growth, meager job growth and continual drop offs in employment participation).

There could be a huge non-linear shift if the Euro-zone implodes and the banking and import/export contagion spreads, which is looking increasingly likely. I wouldn't even know how to model such a shift, I don't think we have the data points for states like CA, CT, ME.

The word "historic" is tossed around the same way "awesome" is tossed around; too often. This election, more than any election in the past, cannot be buried. The attacks that this POTUS has launched against our freedoms and security have been documented by millions the world over. @259, with that being an "Act," I don't suspect that it'll go anywhere. Obama's dem senate doesn't seem inclined to pass any legislation at all, and with a number of demo senators threatened this election cycle, I don't expect them to be profiles in courage.

Having said that, the reason the SCOAMT is a SCOAMT is because he's willing to do things by executive fiat. However, if he does that, he further cements his totalitarian nature. I don't think it'll happen, unless he does it in pique as a lame duck.

Posted by: jakeman at May 14, 2012 04:46 PM (96M6e)

275
I said previously Yes, there is also a strong Gramsci aspect to it..

Let me expound. The first (pre - AIDs) Gramsci aim by the gay mafia was the dissolution of monogamy and other generally accepted Judeo-Christian sexual mores. After the "AIDs epidemic" it conjoined with "where's the money?"

Pre - AIDs they were all for sexual freedom and promiscuity as part of any normal person's lifestyle. Afterwards they want to claim they're just like regular monogamous folk, only queer.

So the Gay Mafia still boils down to the Gramscian destruction of the traditional Judeo-Christian lifestyle by any means available. And bilking the taxpayer for it.

The trap doesn't need to be sexual, per se, it can be as simple as not reporting contact with a foreign agent.  A number have people have been turned over the years by the agent simply revealing that they're an agent.

6. Throw party.

8. Return and share vacation pix with all and unwilling sundry.

What they should NOT do is:

1. Expect the State government to recognize same.

The split of registered voters is a little closer at 36/30/34 and yet, Romney wins women by 2. Where are they getting this split? I know it's not necessarily a strong correlation, but the latest Rasmussen poll shows the Reps winning the congressional ballot by 7 (45-3 as of 5/12. The Chicago HQ must be freaking at these latest polls. As someone mentioned above (and I've always believed) the preference is on the march! By the way, I find it interesting which questions they choose to report by all respondents and which they report only among registered voters. Is there a method to this reporting style? I'd appreciate it if anyone knows.
