Cheney: Obama Is a SCOAMF
— Ace

He uses the term "unmitigated disaster" but we know what he meant to say.

"I can't think of a time when I felt it was more important for us to defeat an incumbent president today with respect to Barack Obama. I think he has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said at the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne on Saturday.

Half-baked thought: Leading public opinion consists of leading the public by a matter of months. People who said Obama was a disaster on the first day of his presidency (or before) were right, and yet by and large ignored by the 65% who, early on, supported Obama. They just couldn't follow our thinking.

We were right. But they were right too, in the sense of "right" meaning "stupid."
At any rate, they thought they were right and we were crazy.

High-ranking Republican officials and dignitaries mostly haven't spoken like Cheney does here, a summary, a judgment. They have attacked this or that, or underscored his poor performance on gas prices or energy policy or so forth, but they haven't, largely rendered a "failure" judgment on the whole shebang.

Maybe that's to the good. Maybe if we were doing that for a year or two, the public would be immunized against it and say "Ho hum, same thing as usual, just like Obama's bleatings."

It would now be about the time to pour it on. Or at least very close to that point.

Whatever strategy is taken, and I think you've made this point Ace, you have to make sure you separate your judgement of Obama from the judgement of the people who voted for/supported him.  Or to put it another way, you are trying to separate these people who previously supported him, from him.

It has to be obvious to them, and you're right, now may be the time, but you better not mis-time the jump.

You guys may be right, this may be the time to pour it on (though I question that strategy from Go,) but I wouldn't use Cheney's talk as the cue. He's been pretty vocal when he's been healthy enough.

69 It's not enough that we talk about how Barack Obama is a SCOAMF here.  I'm witnessing a sea change in the comments at mainstream websites like CNN and others.  Even reddit seems slower to dowvote criticisms of Obama.

My challenge to you is to spend a few minutes a day out in the wilds reminding people in the mainstream that vast numbers of Americans have found Obama to be a horrible president.  Even if we can't change their minds, we can put them on the defensive.  Make them account for the trillions of debt, high unemployment and having to watch Michelle on The Biggest Loser.

70 "People who said Obama was a disaster on the first day of his presidency (or before) were right, and yet by and large ignored by the 65% who, early on, supported Obama. They just couldn't follow our thinking." More like the 65% relied on the liberal media for their thinking. If it hadn't been for the "serious" journalists blatantly promoting Obama and covering up for him, he wouldn't have gotten elected in the first place. A guy with no real experience doing anything, who hung out with 2 terrorists, Dorn and Ayers, and who was a thinly veiled left wing extremist. Any republican who had this bad of a background would have been slaughtered in the press.

Everyone knew what Barky was about.  EVERYONE.  He ran on the platform of destroying America and even made the centerpoint to be the coming "fundamental transformation of America" into something more like the third world shithole Barky was raised in.

The Indonesian held the BIGGEST POLITICAL RALLY OF HIS CAMPAIGN IN A FOREIGN NATION!!!!!

Who didn't know this?  This is about as un-American as you can get ... and the most repulsive political act one can imagine (other than the fact that it was deadly illegal in a million different ways).

They had good reasons to make it.  Track record, yada yada.  But Obama still had the potential to not be a failure.  I made a comment when asked my opinion in 2008:   He has the potential to be a Clinton or a Carter.   (I expected Carter)

Now that we're 3 years in, it's no longer a prediction - he is a Carter 2.0, and probably worse than the first one.  Thanks, 52%.   Now, to remind daily the liberal friends and acquaintances that we have a SCOAMF in the WH.

168 MSNBC has an interesting take on "quietly"

MSNBC -- Susan G. Komen for the Cure has quietly resumed funding for Planned Parenthood, two months after the leading U.S. breast cancer charity set off an angry and debilitating debate about abortion rights by cutting off funds to the prominent women's health network.

The Dallas-based Komen foundation said on Friday that its local chapters have awarded grants to at least 17 Planned Parenthood affiliates for breast-cancer screenings and breast-health services for the fiscal year that began on April 1.

The grants are comparable in number and dollar value to what Planned Parenthood received last year, when $680,000 in Komen funds helped about 170,000 women, many of them living on low incomes in areas with few healthcare options.

170 It is not widely reported, however, the reason that cheney has been having so many health problems and the reason for his recent procedure was because of his role in solving the 2003 blackout which took out the NE U.S. In order to restart the grid Cheney actually yanked the power cord off some super secret machine in the situation room, shoved the wires directly into his thigh and then shoved the plug into the wall. I am not sure of the precise nature of the problem but there was a surge from Cheney which was more than the grid could handle and then a little feedback and Cheney has been having a problem her and there ever since.

182 #88   Let me tell you how I migrated from being a democrat who voted for Carter to a permanent conservative Republican who voted for Reagan an never has voted democrat since.

I voted for Carter,  even though I didn't like him much,  for a single issue:  I was angry at Ford's pardon of Nixon.  (Yes,  I was wrong,  but it was 1967 and I didn't have any sources for news except Time Magazine and the networks,  and I came from a democrat family).

So,  Carter gets elected,  and I start out thinking this is going to be ok.  The eeeevil GOP is out and now Carter will fix stuff.  Only instead,  he proceeds to do bad stuff.  Over and over.  Give away Panama Canal. Makes us turn thermostats down and freeze.  Gas shortage. Beef shortage.   Corruption.  Annoying Carter family on TV all the time.

I start getting madder and madder.  Then I think, "Well, he's a democrat so I can't be upset."  And I go back to supporting him,  only not as enthusiastically.   Then he does something else,  and I get mad,  and when I recover my enthusiasm is diminished even more.  Iran blows up and the hostage crisis starts.  The Shah (who I always sort of liked) gets kicked out.  And it drags on and on.  Disaster in rescure attempt.

Somewhere along the way I decided that I didn't care if Reagan was an idiot.  He was at least NOT EMBARASSING and I figured he couldn't do any worse.  And that was the correct decision,  which I came to through struggling through the Carter years.

Many of the people who voted for Obama made a mistake.  A huge number of them were not aware of the MANY reasons disqualifying him.  Allow them the dignity of saying that they made a mistake through bad information.  And encourage them to blame the media outlets and the press.

I would never have changed if a conservative had been hitting me over the head with my vote for Carter.  I had to work it out on my own.

183 Alert! While we were looking the other way on Friday, fascinated by hookers trying to teach government employees honesty, SCOAMF issued a new Imperial Decree beginning the process of outlawing fracking. HotAir noticed though, thankfully. Anyway, these fuckers wont be happy until were all government slaves, so watch carefully. Nothing good comes of Friday evening Executive Orders.

These idiots won't be happy until we all are living in mud huts burning our own vegan produced dung for fuel. But it will be fair because we will all be miserable FOR GODS SAKE RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

More importantly... just what in the heck does Facebook produce?  Its not an ecommerce site... its JUST a Social media time waster.

How does Facebook contribute to the Economy?  Besides wasting a lot of energy running servers... and having people WASTE time at work on it?

192 I like to think of former SCOAMF voters as entering Former Progressives Anonymous, or as being in Former Liberal Rehab. Many have hit rock bottom, and we should reach out to them to help them recover. Not by compromising to progressive principles, but by introducing ours. You wouldn't help a drunk by going to a bar with him would you?

194 You guys who are upset at the 52%, please hold your fussing at them until after the election.

Practice these phrases:

1. Can you believe that all of these high-paid reporters didn't tell us Obama hung around with terrorists?

2.  Can you believe that not one news outlet explained Obama's lack of experience in running an organization?

3. Darn it!  Obama sounded like he was going to try to fix things,  but he hasn't really done anything about (gas prices, unemployment, housing market, college costs, food prices- pick one that is appropriate.)

I REALLY understand the compulsion to say I told you so (I have a democrat sister and a union brother) but I bite my tongue.  For those two,  I hope they just don't make the effort to vote.  For my daughter,  who is desperate to find a better job than Pet Smart,  holding my tongue and calmly explaining how she was misled by the press has ended up with someone who will vote for Romney.

"I'm sorry.  If you were correct I'd agree with you."

Barky is not Carter.  The situations are totally different, as are the voters and why they voted.  We no longer have the time or the luxury of holding the hands of the idiots who have gone out of their way to damage America and make a mockery of our nation by voting in or supporting that ineligible, un-American piece of shit.

Like I said, no "American" can watch someone run a political campaign in another country and think that that person has any business even being back in America, let alone getting a job in our government - the top job, yet.

Sorry, but the Barky voters have no excuses and I will not make some up just so they can feel less bad about the terrible damage they have done to America - intentionally.

197 2 It would now be about the time to pour it on. Or at least very close to that point.

When you have someone down and out, step on his throat, lean into it, and don't let him up. That's how I roll.

When I was eight, my father told me to always kick a man when he's down, to ensure he can't get back up and attempt to harm me again.  So, that's how I roll, too!

198 In a way what better spokesman of the truth of the statist fail than Cheney.

He certainly has nothing to loose by speaking the truth. Being that he has been the lefts whipping boy for so long.

Be fun to know how pluperfect crazy they must get when Cheney speaks out like this. The guy has a certain presence and credibility born of a life of statesmanship.
No matter what one may think of his past, he has a type of air about him that speaks professional in a way those psychopaths, social misfits, maoist clowns, and 60's mental retards in the white house could never posses.

I think Cheney's was a splendidly candid statement of the facts.

Bravo!

Could there by any further proof the Racist right are oblivious to American History? Yeah. They prove it every single day!

This is NO different. Today Former Vice President to the Bush Adminstration, Dick Cheney called President Obama “An Unmitigated Disaster ” PLEASE!

So what is the most disliked man in America talking about? Perhaps Dick meant that President Obama had the job of “cleaning up” the unmitigated disaster that he and Bush left at the end of 2008. Because most economists agree that the U.S. economy was about to go over a cliff and President Obama saved it. Not only did the President save the economy from a depression but he also passed universal health care and reformed Wall Street – a very successful legislative tenor.
Not that anything Dick Cheney says matters otherwise I would say that he owes President Obama an apology for calling him an unmitigated disaster. Dick Cheney had an 11% approval rating when he left office. He has no credibility with most Americans. Perhaps Mr. Cheney is “projecting” or believes the President is an unmitigated disaster because he hasn’t started any new wars or can actually travel to other nations without being arrested.

Show us the evidence . there is NO voter fraud worth diddly in this country . OBAMA was elected by a clear majority of moderate and sane Americans, not the right wing haters on this page (thank goodness), not to mention I e-mailed FactCheck.org back in 2009 and I got the facts. No there was NO voter fraud, they are just horrible excuses made for why Barack Obama won.

Since all he has to do is say something, and republicans decide they must do exactly the opposite he divides the country in two right wing racist and everyone else, there are also wealthy people who are not racist but just greedy, Libertarians who would opose almost any Dem, or Rep. and people like myself who see Obama as too far right, and want true leftist socialism. HOWEVER These people are not going to be united, and are no further divided than they were in the past most of them felt the same about Bush, Clinton, Regan etc. as they do about Obama It is only the right wing racist who have made this sharp distiction between Obama and others and are against every policy Obama does even if it was once a part of their platform So no you do not have to be a racist to hate Obama, but I fail to see any other reason to think he is so differant from George WÂ….except..

Bin Laden is dead, GM is alive, WeÂ’re out of Iraq, the Markets are higher than at the end of 2008, we have more jobs than the end of 2008, and weÂ’ve got a foot out the door in Afghanistan. Definitely lacking in the success department. Sorry President Obama hasnÂ’t been the failure you wish he was because you hate America for electing a black man as President.

Stop calling this man a POS & SCOAMF, you disgusting racist hateful a-holes. ThatÂ’s what you are disgusting racist hateful a-holes and it shows.

Warren, I really, truly do pity you. YouÂ’re so consumed with hatred, with absolute surety that the black guy in the White House is out to destroy AmericaÂ…and your hatred has blinded you to all that heÂ’s done that is good and right. Has he been perfect? YouÂ’d find precisely zero liberals who would think so.

We can be thankful that Kerry was not elected President, or we would have had an a-hole in office way before Obama. Bush will go down as the worst president in the past 100 years.
